This hotel would be very nice if it weren't located so far from everything. You must take the hotel's shuttle bus just to get to the Metro (a 10 minute ride) and then take the Metro to get anywhere. We wasted at least 45 minutes each direction. And the return is worse, as you must call them for a pick-up, which means you must go somewhere where there is Wi-fi (a cafe, and then buy coffee or something) to call, and then rush to time it just right. On top of that, the pick-up spot is in a dark deserted spot (no stores, nothing) with no where at all to sit!! The worst part of a two week trip.
Great Place. Great Staff. ”
Everything is fantastic! Staff is very accommodating. Transportation to and from is perfect. The only minor complaint is that they really need to work on the air conditioning in the building. They control it from the front desk and it just doesn’t feel cool. They had to bring us up a fan. They need to work on this. Other than that. The place is great!
Brilliant hotel, staff and location.”
The hotel is slightly out of the city but one stop using the urban railway (10 min walk) and you can catch the metro to all over Rome. But there are plenty of his stops everywhere. The hotel itself we couldn't fault. The staff, facilities, room and breakfast were excellent. We would stay here again and gladly recommend it to others.
Free shuttle to the city center
An Unusual Choice”
Nice people, nice rooms, nice residential neighborhood with not a pizza place or a -- practically anything -- nearby. (Great breakfast buffet.) But if you're coming to room for the bustle and local flavor and sight-seeing -- or just about any other reason -- this is an unusual choice. Yes, you can reserve a seat on the free shuttle bus -- but, well, with so many others to choose from that are NEAR things, this was an odd choice.
Not a 4 star hotel but nice enough as a base”
Pros. Located in quiet, safe area. Good breakfast - the prosecco was an inspired touch. Free shuttle bus into centre. Cons. Being away from the action might be a disappointment for some. No bar - though a drinks table with an excellent choice of spirits was laid up in the lounge. Bed uncomfortable - mattress and pilows too hard (that's subjective though), 'double' mattress was two adjoined singles and you are aware of the join. Overall, okay for a few nights but not a week's stay or longer. We split our stay: at The Duke for business and a central apartment for a few extra days vacation.
Would definitely recommend
Friendly and clean hotel”
Rooms were a traditional/modern twist. Great breakfast and friendly staff
If your business is in the same area as this hotel it's absolutely perfect. Really nice hotel, not a lot of facilities outside of the rooms & restaurant although there is an agreement with the local spa. The basic rooms are quite small and without AC switched on, the room was very hot at night. I would def return but would make sure I booked a larger room. The free shuttle bus to the town edge and back is a great service, make sure you book the return journey or a taxi will cost 10 Euros.
A very nice hotel, friendly, clean and perfect for visiting within the area close to the hotel. For site seeing it may be a little far out of town.
Lovely hotel, great location”
My husband & I had a truly pleasant 5 night stay at the Duke Hotel! The staff were so friendly and helpful in every way. The daily continental breakfast offered was just superb, with a lot of variety. We would highly recommend this place, & will definitely stay there again on our next visit!
Very good hotel”
I would recommend this hotel in Rome. Very clean rooms, heating worked well, free shuttle was very helpful since is no metro close and the pubkic bus is a bad option since it runs one an hour. Take their free shuttle. Saves your time. I had an economy room which was a bit small. I am sure they have larger rooms too. Bathroom was large and we'll equipped. Very good breakfast and fresh coffee like espresso or cappuccino. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay here again. I had a very nice experience with this hotel. Thank you all for a nice stay.
A very nice place worthy of consideration. ”
The location is close to main tourist points and the free hotel shuttle makes it convenient to access them each day. The use of a free smartphone provided by the hotel was invaluable
We stayed in Duke hotel on our first visit to Rome and we were not disappointed. Staff were excellent making sure our stay was enjoyably. Rooms spotless, great breakfast. Free shuttle bus is great idea as hotel is outside city but this does not matter as bus gets you there in five minutes. The only negative comment was WiFi connection in our room didn't work and free smart phone didn't cover Ireland.
Shuttlebus was not possible to have :/”
We thought the shuttlebus was supposed to drive constantly, but NOT. 2 hours brake in the afternoon, and it was fully booked for all departures for several days so we had to walk (40 min) with 5 kids to get into the city.
Clean room, nice and kind staff, The location is a bit far from center
Good breakfast, quiet hotel, some service was good and some really bad. Only italian channels which is a shame. No duvet, only sheets. Really expensive parking. Nice area though.
Great location, great price, awesome hotel”
The hotel was large, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. Not your typical cramped room European hotel. It is away from the tourist traps yet close enough to walk to everything, except for Vatican area. The hotel is the best I've stayed in all of Rome. Even the bathroom was superb with plenty of room. The breakfast was also very good and provided a lot of choices. I can't wait to stay here again
not far from center and shuttle make it perfect”
