Superb!”
Pro : 1) the room is sooooo nice! My bed is actually a boat transformed to a bed. 2) love the atmosphere! You will woke up with this amazing view of mangrove forest, birds flying(even an eagle!),and the sea. It is so freaking calmmmmmming! 3) They provide real toiletries. Not only for marketing purpose. 4) They have a very unique interior design. Very very unique! 5) They have water heater. 6) Very easy to find food. Mostly seafood. And its all fresh! Still remembered the taste of grilled fish..yummy! 7) Near the jetty which you can join the trip for eagle feeding (new experience, love it!),visit fish kelong (puffer fish so cute!, and the spitting fish is so unbelieveable) and fireflies trip at night. Con: 1) My room is on the groudfloor(sea view), at night you can hear people talking from outside, the sound of a boat starting the engine-going-coming. Its prolong untill 4am. - suggested for high floor room. Overall, i love to come back to Kuala Sepetang and definitely stay at Happy 8!

Absolutely perfect ”
Absolutely happy with it’s quint environment - very basic clean and cosy retreat. We were able to walk to the local market and had tea, dinner, breakfast & lunch all @ the local coffee shops . The locals are friendly, helpful ..we had Mr Ong (neighbor aka fishery owner) helped us with a carpark space - yes, we arrived on a public holiday and carpark by the roadside were all full, we had to park far away - he showed us where to park at the hotel - it was so convenient. This is a place to visit & stay if you want to experience living a fishing village environment & it’s location is perfect for photography.

Awesome place and awesome view”
Hi, I have been to Kuala Sepetang before but I never knew that they have such a beautiful place. The unit I am staying is awesome. The room is compact but very clean, the interior and furniture are carefully crafted and my kids love it so much, especially the top tatami bed. Definitely will come again for a retreat

Good getaway holiday location”
Generally the people in Kuala Sepetang are friendly and helpful. The hotel was at a good location near the jetty for island hoping tours. The hotel doesn't have any lift, so we have to climb 3 floors up to our family room and the staircase were not even, some steps were higher than others and it was very hot without much ventilation at that area. Each time we used the staircase, we would end up sweating like mad. The room was nice and unique. However, the TV wasn't working, so my husband missed the opening of the World Cup 2018 that night and was mumbling away. As it was a Raya holiday, we didn't hear of noise when the fishermen fire up their boat to go out to the sea as reported by other travellers staying in this hotel. We went for the island hoping tour cost us each RM50/- for a 3 1/2 hours tour to a floating fish farm, Kuala Sangga (an island 15 mins away from Kuala Sepetang), Eagle feeding, sunset view and fireflies watching, worth every Ringgit we spent.

Short Getaway ”
The hotel is strategically located near the jetty. Restaurant is nearby and plentiful around the area. One can also book the local tour from the operators near the hotel. Would advance those visiting Kuala Sepetang to arrive at the jetty to organize the tours. Tour covers river cruise with eagle feeding, fish farm to see horse shoes crab and puffer fish. The tour can also make arrangement (riding on the special motorbikes) to the charcoal factory and the Matang mangroves (need to pay entrance fees). Evening tour the nearby island and watch the sunset follow by firefly watching. Overall experience is great (back to basic) as internet is slow and tv in the rooms are only the local channels (no Astro and all)

Best location, tastefully decorated, amazing hand drawn wall art.”
The entrance is not obvious but the building icon-eagle is easy to find. Location is good, very near to jetty and all nice seafood restaurant. Room design are beautiful. The wooden sink is so unique. The boat tour service introduced by hotel is very good with reasonable price and friendly knowledgeable tour guide. We are satisfied!

Accommodation is clean. Really like the paintings in the rooms and around the hotel - looked quite quirky. However it is a bit noisy as the walls are wooden and you can hear the footsteps, people coughing, etc. The front desk was really helpful with tips on what to do/see around Kuala Sepetang.

You can choose better bed to sleep”
The counter service only available till around 6pm. The bed it's too firm as wood, I can not enjoy the sleep at all, if you look for soft bed, it's better that you double confirm the condition. my room is without window, so i only can enjoy the mural painting. wooden floor n ceiling, you will always hear the vacuum stick hit the wooden wall, and your neighbor always shout them can not quiet. Sometime will hear children play loudly and the parents shout them keep quiet as well. Hope you enjoy the accommodation.
