As usual: a great stay”
We stayed the fifth time in this lovely hotel and it was as usual a wonderful stay. It is the most loveliest place I could imagine to spend a weekend in London.
Really great hotel for the money!”
Beautiful hotel and huge rooms with a fully equipped kitchen. It was so worth it. Very close to the station as well not very fare from anything really. We also used the restaurant which was also great. So all in all very nice.
Excellent service and excellent organization for the wedding and wedding dinner. ”
The front desk staff and organization for the wedding we attended. Would have liked a few additional coat hangers. Also for older guests could use some support grips getting into and out of bathtub.
Fantastic boutique ”
Great facilities and very clean. Very accommodating staff. Only problem was that the dryer was not working.
Terrific Town Hall”
I've stayed at the Town Hall regularly. It has both character and depth. Rooms are spacious, modern furnishing and well equipped in a historic shell. Good fitness facility, restaurant tempts the taste buds. Above all it has character and it's one tube stop from Liverpool st
Off from the central, i used to live around the area so I knew around the area. The first timer may find this a bit hard to go around. Beautiful building, and room was super big. Modern, chic yet comfortable. I really like the place.
Spacious and comfortable.”
Great gym and pool. Very close to central tube line.
Quiet at night, bit noisy in the am due to temporary construction, ”
Housekeeping very good, although lost my husbands wedding ring, but then it was silicon and could have been mistaken for a washer! Lovely loccitane products, good tea and sparkly water, proper milk for tea provided, will go back.
blissful escape from London busy-ness”
I live in London! However, I felt I needed to disconnect from my life and have a little local adventure. The hotel is close to where I live, but I had only previously sampled the cocktail bar (excellent btw). This time, I decided to get a room, use the pool, experience room service, relax, unwind. The hotel was perfect for all of these things. The pool was warm and inviting, and there is nothing like having it to yourself! I missed a sauna, but only a little bit, this would have been the cherry on top. There was a well equipped gym, I was too lazy to have a go - maybe next time. The room was clean, and the soaps and moisturisers wonderfully aromatic. There was ample space to have a meal, relax on the sofa, and nap on the bed. It was perfection. It was quiet and ticked a lot of boxes for me in terms of style without overcomplication. I will definitely be coming back!
An East End Experience”
Fascinating building, interesting conversion, very cool, thoughtful and the huge bedroom windows really open (albeit onto the back of a housing estate) but why the "steal-proof" coat hangers? They are SO annoying. There are a limited number of eateries in Bethnal Green but we were detained so couldn't book any nor try The Typing Room which closes at 10.00 - but the most disappointing "East End Experience" was that the kitchens that offer the room service menu had closed early, citing the fact that "January had been very quiet". Not having eaten all day we were ravenous for a proper meal and suddenly felt very isolated. You don't go back out wandering Bethnal Green looking for food at 10.00pm. We contemplated some local Turkish Takeaways with reviews that warned orders hadn't turned up so were obliged to fall back on the "we can only do sandwiches" room service. A charming guy brought us for £45 a not bad cheese toastie & gherkin and bottle of red wine but we went to bed disgruntled.
The appartments offered everything we needed. Added bonus was the handy which you could take out with you. Would highly recommend and would come back for another stay. Great location. Was in walking distance to the Tube Station and the V&A Toy Museum. A Sainsbury's express was also a short walk away. The appartment was very spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed and the kitchen had all we needed. There was water in the fridge and tablets to use the dishwasher if needed. The gym and swimming pool was also a great addition to the hotel. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. The bar man was very nice and friendly! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Every single element of the Town Hall is thought of for customers, from the moment you arrive - the staff are sensational, the rooms divine, the pool, restaurants... I could go on. Actually I will. Even the toasted sandwich I ordered through room service was outstanding. There was an issue with my room and the swift and empathetic response made me love the hotel even more. It will become a regular feature of my visits to London and I strongly recommend it!
Staff goes the extra mile”
Don't know Shoreditch that well, it's my first time to this area of London. My guess is this is by far the best place to stay in the neighborhood. Town Hall is clean, hip and the staff accommodating. Con: the dryer 's don't dry the clothes. Washer/Dryer is one and the same- the washer works but not the dryer. That said, the staff went the extra mile to make sure my clothes were dry by departure time.
Great hotel for a city trip”
We had a great stay at townhall hotel - it was not our first visit - we enjoyed our stay every time. At the last stay we were a little disturbed by a christmas party in the hotel. As it was not the hotels fault they handled the situation perfectly. We will visit the hotel again and are very happy with the style and service of the hotel and staff.
Wonderful stay marred by cigarette smoke”
Very comfy beds, large baths and attentive staff. The lighting throughout the hotel was subtle and artistically done, also quirky decor. The only drawback was that our original room is located very near the designated staff smoking area. The smoke seeped in through our bathroom window and when we initially complained we were told that they would send security to check it out and that smoking was not allowed. We did not find out that it was the official smoking area until we complained again and were given a (very nice) room in a different location. Oh and the greyhound dog in the hallway was the best - just loved having a dog outside our door.
The hotel's design was 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Loved the art scattered around the premises. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment, and the room is massive—definitely bigger than what you see in the pictures. Not for first time visitors to London though or those with a lot of business in the West End—the rush hour commute was excruciating.
Perfect Location ”
This hotel was booked from the states (sight unseen). I went by reviews, website, and hotel pictures. It was a perfect hotel/apartment. Very clean, bed was comfortable, nice size shower and the kitchenette was just the perfect size. It always had tea, coffee, and bottled water stocked for our stay. We did not get a chance to eat in any of their restaurants but I did read they were fantastic. The location was steps from the underground - about 25 minutes from the Waterloo station in central London.
Great hotel, not so great location”
As several other reviewers have already mentioned, this is a very nice and luxurious hotel in an area of London that could generously be described as 'up-and-coming' and less generously as 'rough' - definitely not the kind of neighbourhood where visitors with families would like to walk around at night in search of a place to eat. Also, the hotel lacks some services which I would expect from a 5-star establishment, for example staff waiting by the doors to welcome guests and help them with their luggage. On the other hand, once inside the hotel, their is plenty of interesting decor to admire and the staff were very friendly and eager to please. The executive room in which I stayed was spacious, comfortable and equipped with cutlery, crockery and even a washing machine that would have come in handy if I had stayed longer. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to visitors who want to experience luxury in London without having to spend many hundreds of pounds per night. There is a tube station about 5 minutes' walk away that takes one to central London in about 15 minutes. During the day the walk should not be unpleasant and there is an interesting museum on the way, but one could also take a taxi from the hotel.
the hotel and staff are great”
My stay was great! Just a few things no mirror to do my hair, an extention to plug the kettle in which seemed a bit dangerous and the coffee maker had dirty bits in it, the rug had a dirty mark on it, the underground wasnt running so i couldnt go anywhere but thats not the hotels fault! When the underground runs it 10 mins to euston which was great
A True 5 star hotel with modern style. ”
The free upgrade to a suite no doubt helped but this was a lovely stay. The room was enormous and well furnished in mid-century modern style. Full kitchen was included so was able to knock up own breakfast and dinner. It's location is not the best for a couple in their sixties. In an up and coming but still quite shabby part of town away from the sites and the restaurants. But I guess that's what makes it affordable.
