Nice garden but foul smell. ”
Constant disgusting smell in bathroom that makes you feel sick to even go in there. Staff are pleasant but the resort needs substantial repairs and at the current $40 per night is unjustified. Much better value elsewhere.

This place is just lovely. About ten min walk to alona beach. The cottage was so cozy. Definitely worth it. Lovely, smiling and helpful staff. Stayed here three days. Would live to come back someday

Great relaxing place”
Stayed a couple of nights to enjoy Alona beach. It's about 10mins walk away to the sea, but there is a shortcut to get there within 4 mins. The place is a bit away from the main road, so it's quiet and peaceful. I really liked the hammocks

Perfect! ”
Bananaland is the perfect place to stay in Alona beach. Excellent value for money, our 2 person cottage was beautiful! Electric fan and AC, refrigerator and hammock on the porch were an amazing bonus. They also have a great WiFi connection. The garden setting is very nice and so quiet compared to busier parts of the beach. Paying a small one off charge to pass through a resort on the other side of the street, as many times as we liked during our stay, was no problem at all - and made for a lovely 2 minutes walk to the beachfront. If we ever come back to Panglao, we will definitely stay here.. our only comment is that we would have loved an included breakfast (and would have been happy to pay extra per night for this) Thank you Bananaland!

Great experience overall, not sure about the P100 pass for the shortcut to the beach”
This place is excellent, it's just the usual odd fee that annoyed us, no matter how small it is. We picked this cottage for its excellent location, but then we found out they charge P100 pp for a shortcut to Alona Beach. Without a pass, it's 10-15 mins via the long route, which means the location of this place is as good as any other cottage. Really, why would you charge for the pass? I don't get it. And please, why don't you provide free water? I know you've got a minimarket and charge P28 for a bottle of water, but any other hotel we stayed so far had a drinkable water tank, you should definitely do the same.

Tranquil and relaxing place to stay. ”
I really enjoyed staying here. It's a small family run cottage complex. It has a natural and rustic feel to it. The cottages are nestled in native trees and plants. For its location it is quiet and peaceful. For novelty try a night in the native (Nippa) house , because its traditionally built it has fans rather than air con. The cottages are all a.c. Rose and her team did everything they could to make my stay a pleasant one. There is a small shop selling essentials, water, soft drinks, beer, snacks etc The beach is a 2 minute walk via another hotel. Shops, places to eat a five minute walk away.

Oasis of tranquility”
While beach, restaurants and bars are just a stone throw away, the resort itself, rather small, offers a relaxing quiet stay in a green environment. The cottage we stayed was just fine for a good night's sleep, some romance, refreshing shower after wake up or an evening talk on the veranda with a bottle of wine, available in the store at the main building.

bittersweet experience”
you have to go through a dark narrow alley to get to the place and the hotel has no idea of gate or retaining wall or something, made me feel quite unsettled tho it was perfectly safe during my stay. its very close to the nature and a little bit too close, easily find bugs in the room and i was bite by some unknown insect which gave me quite a big area of bumps, its still aching now. the owner and the staffs are not so pleasant or smily. but well we did enjoy the hammock in the patio, great place to enjoy a nice tropical afternoon.

Good”
I musta had a high expectation of Bananaland Cottage due to its review scores and what everyone had said. For me, it was very ‘basic’ but on the tired decor / furnishing side. Aircon worked, it came with a fridge, hot shower was broken on arrival but once reported it was fixed before my next use. Wifi wasnt great- it kept dropping I couldn’t make calls or uploading files at night. The rooms were cleaned daily with new sheets towels every other day. I didn’t get any impression the workers were super friendly, how did I miss this? However they managed to sort out problems and requests promptly.

Spacious and comfortable accommodation at budget price”
I was pleasantly surprised at the large clean room with all necessary facilities at such a reasonable price. Set a little way back from the beach, but still only a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Has a handy shop attached. Owner is very friendly.

Near the beach in a quiet relaxed atmosphere.”
We stayed there for three nighs. Steffe the ferma owner and his wife are really nice hosts. They are really fiendly and helpful location Its a 5 minute walk to the quiet part of alona beach.Check the gate pass for 100PHP for your hole stay.(Deposit 500PHP). If you want you can be very fast in the crowded area of alona, although at bananaland cottage its veary quiet and we like the relax2d atmosphere there. so for us it was a nice stay and we had a good time there.

Excellent location, 2 minute walk to beach”
Bananaland is located in a super quiet jungle type (banana trees?) area only 2 minute walk from the famous beach! It was the absolutely perfect location without spending huge money. We rented a nipa hut with kitchen at an acceptional rate. The lodgings are a bit rustic, however exceptionally clean and everything worked. The shower was hot with ample pressure. Steffen, Rose and Jennifer were all quite accommodating starting with picking us up at the pier (500 pesos) to a personalized, hot breakfast every morning (180 pesos). Their store had all the essentials any travler would need, including an ice cold beer selection. A few minutes walk down the beach was an endless selection of restaurants and all the tripping options you could handle. We loved it enough to double our stay and we look forward to returning to Bananaland!
