Very basic rooms - just bed and bog! No coffee/tea-making facilities, no soap etc in the bath room, not even a bog-brush - just a spare toilet-roll! Basic breakfast comes at an optional extra, but you get what you pay for. Secure parking compound and all within a safe 10-minute walk from a busy and beautiful town centre. Plenty of eating places in the two main squares....

Arras is ideally situated for visiting the VIMY monuments (10-minutes drive to the north) and the many SOMME monuments at THIEPVAL (30-minutes drive to the southwest). The city of Lille is another 30-minute drive to the northeast.

The hotel is clean and functional - The staff are friendly but only has the 'feel' of a 2 or 3 star hotel and requires investment to improve. It feel like an old Mercedes E class - still does the job but a brand new Ford Mondeo would be better value.

This hotel is perfectly located right opposite train station and about 5 mins walk from town centre. Staff very polite & friendly my room clean & comfortable. Breakfast recommended also. I was a lone female traveller & felt safe & comfortable at all times.

a pleasant hotel in an ideal location, being right in the place des heros, very convenient for restaurants and shops. the proprietor speaks english and was very helpful, providing us with a cheap(er) ticket for the underground carpark beneath the grand place (the best option for parking). room was very clean but rather small, ok for the 2 nights we were staying. contin...

The Hotel De L'Univers is a striking building set in it's own cobbled stone square. It is only a five minute stroll to the main squares in Arras yet very quiet at night. We spent two hours driving around Arras trying to find it which didn't put us in the best of moods when we arrived, but apart from being hard to find the hotel is very nice and the rooms are comfortable and clean.

This hotel is definitely not walkable to the centre of Arras but there is a good bus service if you don't have a car. Very basic but I found the reviews of previous occupants quite frightening, and believe you me, things are not that bad. Expect to get a Travel Lodge style, just basic hotel and that's what you'll get. Avoid the steak! Gourmet restaurant 3 minutes ...

Very warm all the time when the weather was bad. Creaky floorboards.

We stayed two nights with young children and found this hotel ideal after traveling the Chunnel and for sightseeing. There is parking nearby at modest charge and plenty of eating options. However, the air conditioning failed on both hot evenings we stayed here, and staff did not seem to be able to fix it (no technician available at weekend!) Not good enough, we felt.

Just a short walk from the train station, this is a beautiful house with an enormous back garden. Our hostess was very charming and helpful. All the bedrooms are up stairs (no lift) but our room with bathroom and all the shared rooms were very elegant. The included breakfast was magnificent. Beautifully decorated, sunny and spacious. Only 10 min walk from the station if you ignore the Google instructions. Instead exit the station and cross the place by the war memorial. Opposite and slightly left take Rue Gambeta. Walk up 1 block, cross at the lights, and turn right up the lane opposite La Poste. Go up the lane past Monoprix on your left and the church...

Go up the lane past Monoprix on your left and the church on your right, and you come out at the end of Grand Place. The gite is to the right. Driving in, and parking on the Place is a bit of a challenge, especially for those of us who drive on the left. The Place is one-way on the side of the gite, but 2 way on the other 3 sides. The underground parking is straightforward but the ramps are tight if you have a large car. There are free park and rides a little further out, Citadele is one. There is a free shuttle. Google Ma Citadine; but it is not really suitable for luggage.
