Traveler impressions of Camiguin

More about Camiguin

This small island province in Northern Mindanao is home to quite a few popular islands and some of the most pristine, secluded beaches in the Philippines. The area is very much out of the way from the mainstream, and as such it attracts only the most dedicated divers and snorkeling travelers. The beaches are rarely crowded, and the high amount of volcanic activity surrounding this region makes for a lot of hot springs and interesting destinations. Camiguin is served by Camiguin Airport, which is located just outside Mambajao, within easy reach of most accommodations.

The volcanic activity in Camiguin is one of the biggest draws to this region, and with good reason. The area is home to many hot springs and many active volcanoes, as well as many volcanic mountains that offer interesting hiking opportunities. The Sunken Cemetery is one such result of a volcano, and is now a favorite diving and snorkeling destination.

While in Camiguin, the most popular activity is island hopping. The ferry terminal at White Island is one of the many destinations from which visitors to this region can go out and explore the rest of the surrounding islands and amazing dive sites, most of which should be explored at least once.

There’s much more to see and do in Camiguin, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to explore where the attractions and hotels can be found in this exciting city.
