Peaceful and relaxing resort. Very good located. Cascais, a nice place to stay and close to beautiful places to visit such as Estoril, Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Guincho, Praia Grande, Adraga and many other beaches. We got an upgrade to Deluxe Suite. Lovely room, very clean and spacious with free wifi. Wonderful staff with friendly smile. Check in was efficient, special thanks to Luis Nogueira of front desk, very professional and excellent attitude. The breakfast is great, food with quality and very nice ambience. Love the fresh orange juice and the champange. We've booked for 1 night, but we like this place so much that we extend our stay for one more night and we still got the room upgrade. We will definitely come back.

Great hotel & great location. It's in the old fortress but manages to combine this with modern luxury and so they complement each other. Its a beautiful hotel with amazing staff who can't do enough to help. It is also spotlessly clean. The best restaurant in Cascias is open only to residents - the one by the pool. I'd definitely return & recommend to family / friends...

while looking like it was built in the salazar era, we found the understated/dated feel quite refreshing. cidedela hotel was confortable and friendly. the rooms were spacious (we were upgraded to a double room) with nice, big balconies and district views. we particually liked the pool and garden area with it's bar and cafe. the staff were very helpful and friendly and enjoyed talking to their guests about their travels or helping with the public transport timetable etc. the location of this hotel is good. it's not centrally located, but a short walking distance to cascais. the bathroom was a little jaded, but overall we would definately recommend this hotel to friends.

Located in the middle of the town. At your door step you will find restaurants, banks, supermarkets etc. The beach is a 10 minute walk. Do give the accommodation incharge a call when you reach the location. Since it is not well signposted you might be a little lost/confused. Someone will meet you at the entrance to guide you to the room. Access is through a flower shop. The lobby entrance always smelt lovely. Suite is on the first floor. It was nice, cosy and clean. Very comfortable beds. Windows are double glazed and seals off any noise from the outside; even noise of the trains. Quipped with kitchen appliances like cooker and refrigerator. There’s no dishwasher or washing machine but, there’s a self service laundry in the vicinity. Room cleaning is available during the stay. Parking is on the roads and is paid. If you drive around the block you will find free parking. Be sure to look for the parking information on the streets. The ticket man is always on his rounds.

the location of this hotel was good, particularly as the hotel runs a free shuttle service to cascais, but the hotel is showing its age. the room was a decent size, but the furniture, decor and bathroom were very old. the tv was an old crt 15 inch grundig, so although there was a good selection of satellite channels, the picture quality was very poor. there was a small cooking hob for self-catering, but it also was very old. overall, i would not stay at this hotel again.

The best location. The place was hard to find, even with gps, as the sign to the guest house was very small. The room was clean, but we did not sleep at all! As the room was facing main road with the heaviest traffic. Noisy, even with the windows closed! Would have liked some blinds for the window, better drain in the shower, and a washbasin in the secound toilett to wash hands when the other bathroom is occupied.

Actually and a new and clean place. But the designer should think before making a bathroom inside the dormitory with carton walls. I could not sleep, cause I ve heard all noises from kitchen, from streets,rooms. The walls seems made of carton (( bed makes noise each time you turn ... the neighbors felt very ennoyed, commenting each your movement in the room. Everything is neat and friendly until sleeping time comes... if you are ok about noise it’s ok

Not value for money in my opinion. Quite expensive for a hostel compared to apartments we've stayed in Portugal for less. It was quite noisy at times and especially the cleaner at 7am, bed was sooooooo squeaky that I couldn't sleep properly and the pillows and mattress were uncomfortable (We stayed in the private room). The shower heads in all the bathrooms were broken and you had to hold it with one hand whilst showering so that was challenging. The pool was great, staff were friendly, breakfast was good and so was the kitchen.

The Albatroz is a very fine, traditional hotel in the historic town of Cascais. The location on the edge of the town and beach area is outstanding. It is also ideal for touring the area and ready access to the capital, Lisbon. There are the 'older' and 'newer' parts to the hotel. Our party had rooms in both and on balance the 'new' rooms offer a larger and more modern facility but for the tradionalists stay in the 'old' part! The rooms are clean, well equipped and with endless supplies of toiletories and towels. The staff are very obliging, the welcome warm and genuine, together with a family type atmosphere, where nothing is too much trouble. Dining is excellent, indoor and outdoor, but book early for both lunch and dinner with a beach view table.

Stayed two nights and mostly relaxed in the hotel. The pool has wonderful sea view. The standard sea view room is good size, some have a small terrace with chairs. Had dinner at the sushi restaurant and it was good, a bit on the expensive side. Also had a 1h massage on the deck by the sea and that was wonderful. The design and interiors of the hotel are interesting and beautiful. The hotel is close to the shops and restaurants at the marina. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have a spa and fitness / gym. For a 5 star hotel you would expect that... But we will definitely come back again anyway.

Everything in this hotel is great. The size of the room, the lovely swimming poor, the beautiful see view and the free internet. The location of the hotel is about 10 minute walking distance to town center. We enjoyed sitting in the balcony and wandering at the rock bank, therefore we decided to stay one more night. I would like to recommend this hotel to all my friends if they come to Cascais.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I stayed here for almost three weeks while I did a Portuguese course in Lisbon, and I would probably try to stay her again if I decide to go back to Cascais on holiday. The owner Jaime is really nice and friendly, and the place is just a five minute walk from both Cascais train station and the beach. Going into Lisbon with the train takes 30-45 minutes, and is very cheap if you buy the Beach ticket.

Pros: Julie was so lovely, always making sure you had everything you needed. House was absolutely gorgeous, room opened up to terrace with the pool. Very relaxing environment. Good location. Street side parking. We never had an issue getting a spot although were never out past 10pm. Fridge in the room. Cost was one of the best in the areas during the time I looked. Cons: our toilet didn't flush properly all the time. We had to run the tap in the bath at times. Our friend told us Portugal typically have firm mattresses, and it was the same in a 4* hotel, but maybe this guest house could add a foam topper to their mattresses for guests who prefer a softer touch :). No other cons, we had a lovely stay and would go back!
