Catania hotels & places to stay

We stayed there for a total of 3 nights (2 nights when we landed and one more before our take off). Located very close to the city center of Catania and offer modern and clean rooms for a fair price. Nothing to compare to other hotels around.

Wonderful hotel for the value. The staff spoken a number of languages including English. They organized a local tour of Mt. Etna for me. It's only minutes from one of the main roads in Catania- via Etna

Although it was very early in the season (beginning of March) the place was very run down looking with all the facilities closed except the restaurant, there were even a couple of abandoned cars on site. The chalet room was adequate although the toilet was no longer fixed to the floor and the door to the bathroom didn't shut. The whole place needs a lot of work doing to it. We ate in the restaurant only on the first evening, the pasta dish was bland and we were each charged 3 Euros to sit at the table, bit out of order for guests. We ate just across the road at the Miramare Hotel and at the service station cafe, both of which provided an excellent selection of lovely food and did not charge for seating!

Pros: - a very nice room with decorations on the walls - huge bed - very clean hotel - the breakfast buffet is great with a lot of options - the pool is big - across the street from the sea - a nice balcony with a seaside view - has also a private section of the beach next to the sea Cons: - far from the city, you need a taxi or a rented car to get there - there are only a few restaurants around and no supermarkets

The 2 night managers were great, but service staff were unfriendly / rude. Breakfast lady never smiled, acted as if our presence was a nuisance. Older man who acts as day manager was very harsh with my sister in-law when she didn't wash a drinking glass, worse with my wife, shouting and gesturing angrily because she left a balcony door slightly ajar. But he would leave that door open while smoking outside, filling eating area and hallway with cigarette smoke. (It’s a non-smoking facility.) They made us very uncomfortable and reluctant to be there except for sleeping. Neither spoke any English. Rooms were clean with good light but smaller than expected. We had 2 quad rooms but I can’t imagine a party of 4 being comfortable in either one. It's 2 flights of stairs and with no lift. Bottom floor is dirty and in poor condition. Breakfast was ok, except for the unfriendly staff lady. At breakfast she was rude to a Japanese lady but nice to a male Italian guest. Very disappointing overall.

Location of the hotel is brilliant for someone who is visiting to go the the market.Incredibly clean and with a good breakfast.

Very nice apartments. Shower a bit too small, and the lift did not work the time I stayed.

Very good location (only 5 minute walk from Catania Centrale railway station or walking distance from city center). You can reach here from the airport by Alibus (4 euro only). I spent one night and everything went well. Easy to find the main door even if no signals. Enjoyable conversation with the owner, kind and friendly. The only thing is that I not recommend the place for people who can’t manage stairs, there are not elevator. Satisfactory cleanliness of the room and comfortable place. The neighbourg is not the best place to walk during the night If you're not familiar with the city or if you're a woman alone, but I would say this is not a big problem if you've travel a lots (is not dangerous at all but It is better to be carefully like everywhere in the word). Definitely i wouldnt hesitate to back here next time I need a room in Catania.

The hotel is very well located - it is walking distance from city centre - the staff was very friendly and willing to help - room (apartment) was very nice and very clean - brand new - very good value for money - highly recommended

The staff buzzed us in through the imposing wooden doors, walking us through a large, friendly courtyard to the office for a quick and easy check-in process. The room itself was more of an efficiency apartment, with a full kitchen including stove and full size fridge. The bed was quite comfortable. Check out the beautiful outdoor seating and the bar upstairs!

A very pleasant stay for two nights in Catania. The city is a gritty port city with lots of hustle and bustle, so you need a comfortable classy hotel to cosset you in the evenings.the Una palace fitted the bill! The only complaint was that the hotel heating system was full on all the time and even with air conditioning control, our room was incredibly hot. However the weather was very bad and we were told it was to keep the chilly Italian guests happy. Would definitely stay again, great staff make for great hotel experiences, these people now how to look after you, also long as you understand that speed of service is at a leisurely pace on this island, even in a city like Catania. Oh unless you're driving, then it's a full on fast n furious demolition Derby. TAKE OUT YOUR COLLISION DAMAGE EXCESS IN THE UK! I paid £10.50 for the week for £4000 excess cover, did'nt need it, coz I'm used to driving abroad, but by the dents in my hire car, some did! Ciao!

we stayed in an apartment which was not in the same palace as the main hotel, but only 50m walk away. the apartment was also located in an old building with view onto a beautiful piazza. the apartment was very spacious, all worked well. check in and check out at the lobby was easy and friendly. secure parking was also provided for very small fee

Good value room with a great location on Catania, right in front of Teatro Bellini. All the sight are in the neighborhood and the bus stop to the airport is also really close. Unfortunately we did not meet Claudia but talked on phone.

Clean room and kind staffs are so helpful. nice location between train station & city center. Breakfast is so nice!

It was really great! The room was very good and the breakfast too. A very modern place! A one of a kind elevator for the luggage 😂 however you must go up some stairs... I can really recommend this place. The only minus point was to find the place but just follow google maps and it’s exactly there. Watch out for a big door and on the side wall is a small sign “Exclusive Suits” Just make sure you arrive during their business hours otherwise you can’t check in. I found easily a parking on the main road. Sunday is free parking 😉

Close to the bus and train. Overlooks the beginning of the historical section. Spacious, very clean and nice linen. Great breakfast. Good price. What’s not to like?

First impression of the area is " rough" but we were wrong . Within 10 min walk there are the nice streets and up market shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel if you are in Catania for just a few nights.Great for the Alibus as Well (2min to busstop). Lovely breakfast , what else do you want?

We have had some awesome days there! You gonna stay in a kind of Villa. The rooms are clean and really comfortable. There is a terasse and a garden with a lot of trees and plants which is the perfect place for a Chill-Out after a day in the City or at the Beach. But the best thing about these accomodation are the hosts - they were welcoming us as heartly as possible and became good friends. They were helping us when ever they could and we are looking forward going there again. Best Choice to stay in, if you are in Catania!

A long walk to main area but lovely people running this and great breakfast and very comfortable. Worked hard to make the place welcome and food exceptional

This is a wonderful B & B, a five-star room with a six-star breakfast. Food is really top quality. The location is good for the city, although it can be noisy which is to be expected for the center or a city. Internet is spotty in places, but these are the only negatives for what is really a lovely place with wonderful generous hosts. Would return!

This was a very misleading hotel name. There was a decent bed, but no thought of breakfast included, and when I questioned the proprietor, he just shrugged his shoulders. The positive here was that they stayed up until 12:30am to recieve us. The downside was the very dicey neighborhood, there was no bathroom in one of the rooms, and no running water in the other room. I would not return, and i would not recommend it to others.

I have only excellent review on the rooms staff and location with 3 very important points that will improve a lot the guests stay: 1) The breakfast is a coupon to nearby cafe. It includes coffee of your choice , bottled pineapple or orange juice and a small sweet pastry. The staff at the cafe, were NOT nice and I suspect that this is due to their understanding that we pay with the coupon. We had to imterogate them as for the coupon option in order to get more options (of the pastry, drinks etc.). 2) We are two israelis that are not used to such huge amount of sugar in the morning (we understand that this is the way the sicilians are used). The cafe has small sandwitches of various cheese and ham/prosciutto we asked them to replace all what we got (juice pastry and coffee) with a sandwich and we were refused, the BB should have that option. 3) There is a minibar that didnt cool enough and is shut down upon exit of the room so we could not bring our vegetables and keep them.

The hotel is in a completely and exquisitely refurbished bulding in a busy and congested part of the city, with parking at a garage a few blocks away. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been more helpful in making us feel at home. It is short walk from the railroad and bus stations, including the bus that goes up Mt. Etna, and is and easy walk from most of the city's sights. I can't think of a better place to stay if you're planning a sightseeing trip to Catania or to the area of Mt. Etna.

Have stayed several times at this well located hotel. Large rooms, well furnished with good bathrooms. Nice restaurant overlooking the sea, quality breakfast. Hotel has free parking facilities, bus stop to historical Catania within 2 minutes walking distance. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay outside central town
