Lovely old market town which used to be the second most important in the country in Roman times.(used to be called Corinium).
I used to be taken there by my parents many years ago on the way to Cornwall and we always stopped for 'Butter Buns' - they still make them and it is still a secret recipe, but with the new 'rules' we can't call them butter buns any longer because they don't have butter in them! So now they call them Sugar Buns or Honey Buns - still worth trying especially when still warm out of the oven. The Royal Agricultural University is the oldest agricultural college in English Speaking world and was founded in 1840. England at its best!
