Traveler impressions of Davao City
Samal Island is a fifteen minute ride from Davao city and it has beautiful beaches where one can relax.
Davao is safe and has a lot to offer in terms of beaches, attractions, religious interests and so many things that you can try to do in nearby islands.
Davao is a peaceful city but there are still mendicants and some places where people just urinate anywhere.
Worth the look and so close to the beautiful beaches to Samal and Davao City is a very safe, clean city.
Davao has lots of beaches if you love to swim. Hotels are very good and there are several choices. The place is peaceful and safe that you can walk at night even without having to worry
Davao City in Mindanao is listed by most 'Western' countries as a place not to go owing to the risk of terrorism and kidnapping.
The safest province I have been to. I would definitely go back but next time I will visit talicud island
People are very friendly and you'll always feel safe even at night. Taxi drivers give exact change. They have implemented different policies like no smoking in public places, which is for a good cause anyway.
There are so many things you can do when in Davao - whether you are a nature lover, on a business trip, or just having a vacation- Davao is a nice place to go to.
I felt so free to enjoy this place because of the peace and order. No need to be scared to snap pictures anytime and anywhere with your pricey camera phones because noone would dare snatch it from you.
It is one of the Safest, Nicest, Cities in the world.. rated in the top 5.. once you visit here, you'll never want to leave.
Great big city with lots of trees and vegetation, liveable city. Diversified things to do, not as congested as Manila, but soon building the traffic.
One of the safest cities in the world , simple and helpful people. Law abiding. Great place to chill.
A very safe city to visit. I've been multiple times, and plan on visiting again in November for 30 days.
enjoyed our 4 days there, this was a sightseeing trip,I think we went everywhere,I chicken out on the zipline,at the eden nature park, because we just had a very good luch, and I was worried about giving it back.
A large city with stupid unnecessary security. On entering taxi at airport had to stop and give my name to police as I left airport-- ( what good this will do is questionable).
Davao is a shock at first. The traffic is congested and there seems to be no rules. It is very cheap to eat shop and have services like manicures haircuts and dentistry.
I am impressed at how the government implements its laws. The 30 kph and the 60 kph maximum speed being obeyed by the motorists is something awesome.
The city is great. there's a lot to do in the way of adventuring: white water rafting, ziplining, sky biking, island hopping, diving, sightseeing, hiking and trekking.
Best deals in a mall are in Victoria Plaza. Nicest Mall to pasyal is SM Lanang. WS, Unitop, and Lots for Less are the most affordable shopping.
vendors are very helpful. We had difficulty in finding a ride and we started to doubt if we were on the right side to take the public ride.
You shouldn't miss having lunch or dinner at Vikings in SM Lanang, the very wide selection of delectable food items from all around the world at a very affordable price of less than $20.
There are many malls, hotels and restaurants in the city center just like any other city. Places of interest are the crocodile park, Eden Nature park, Philippine Eagle center and the various orchid farms which are all outside the city center.
There are many nice beaches outside Davao City which is just a few minutes boat ride. Do not expect an enjoyable night life in Davao City, bars are allowed to serve drinks only up to 12 midnight and there are no coffee shops, restaurants and bars that allow smoking even in open air.
The locals are really kind and it is easy to go around the city and tourist spots. Taxis are easily available
Possibly the safest city in Asia, thanks to the Dutuerte dynasty. There is virtually no crime. Public transport and taxis are plentiful and affordable, although the traffic is a bit congested.
Davao City is safe City, in fact it is. Number 4 safest City in the world. Crimes very low rate, t's very clean city, they have 999 Emergency in whole Asia, people are friendly and nice, They have lovely Festival every March " Araw ng Dabaw".
as with all this type of country it`s very busy, the roads are hard to cross the trafic is very heavy and manic,
I Stayed in Davao for 3 weeks and enjoyed every day of it. The People are very friendly and love to enjoy a few beers and have fun.

More about Davao City
Eco-tourists enjoy trips to Davao thanks to Mount Apo. The tallest mountain in the Philippines boasts the Philippine Eagle Center, a sanctuary for one of the world’s largest birds of prey. Samal Island is quite a draw itself. Although it doesn’t compare to Boracay or Palawan, the island still offers a very relaxing stay. Accommodation on the island is available along the coast closest to the mainland, with fewer options at the further end of the island. These include all-inclusive resorts featuring a range of water sports and beach facilities.
Davao is not short on shopping opportunities with a list of malls and supermarkets. SM City Davao and Victoria Plaza are two of the most popular. Taxis provided the simplest way to navigate the city and are said to be operated by the most honest travelers in the Philippines – the kind that won’t overcharge you for being a tourist. A cheaper and more local way to travel would be on a colorful jeepney. Car rentals, buses, and water taxis also move travelers about the city.
