Overall is very good. Highly recommended. I'm very impressed with staffs, they are friendly, nice and helpful. The staff help to book a taxi service to pick me up at hostel to the airport in the earlier morning. Even if my friends whom stayed in another hotel where is no receptionist stand by and my friends can't speak both English & Japanese when I asked the staff here to help booking for them as well , they don't hesitate to help. .They are very very kind and I really appreciate. If I visit Fukuoka next time , I will be back to stay here again.

Pros: 1. Fairly close to Hakozaki station, 10mins walk -the neighborhood is nice so you wouldn't mind walking 2. Host is very responsive 3. Is close to a convenience store - just need to cross a bridge 4. Easy to locate - we arrived 9pm in the neighborhood, you just have to save the location number from the agoda receipt 5. Complete with amenities - shampoo, conditioner, body soap, tissue, towels, futons, hairdryer, earbuds, and kitchen utensils 6. Location is very convenient when traveling to other parts of Fukuoka Cons: 1. A/C does not produce much heat but you can sleep soundly once you get used to the temperature 2. Cabinet where the futons are placed are not affected by the heater so when you take out the futons it is really cold but can be fixed

Propose of Stay: JR Travel + Enjoying Tenjin area in Fukuoka Very convenient location to enjoy Tenjin area in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. Near Tenjin station- Fukuoka Subway Kuko Line, easy access to FUK int'l airport, many shopping locations, etc. Plus, only JPY 100 is needed to take bus to or from JR Hakata station. Only one thing: mattress was quite too thin. Otherwise, just excellent.

The location for visiting Fukuoka isn't very good but the price for Fukuoka standards definately makes up for that! Especially if you don't mind a short walk. Never saw the host. All contact was via mail, she offered to do and did our laundry when we were gone though. The accommodation is a little bit hard to find. Make sure you download the mail with description and pictures!

I have been to different cities staying in a wide variety of hostels in Japan. This hostel is absolutely the best in terms of its cleanliness. I read the reviews and the staff took the advice given by the reviewers on board and purchased two electric kettles. That’s why I was able to enjoy my cup coffee every day. I guess it’d be even better if the hostel provides some coffee, creamer and tea for the guests. These things might seem trivial but I assume the guests would feel home and would be more likely to hang around longer in the lounge and make friends with other guests. I appreciate the fact that the staff tried very hard to practise their English. I overheard them practising English with each other. I’m sure they will be able to provide service of even higher quality in the near future. They went out of their way to help me set up wifi connection as the user menu was in Japanese. (I didn’t understand the English instructions in user menu) I’ll definitely come back for another stay should I next swing by Fukuoka. I love this hostel.

Stayed here for three nights. Owner is extremely responsive, always answering questions within an hour or less, and he messaged me in perfect English. Check in and check out was super easy and we arrived very late at night which he was able to accommodate without a problem. The room itself seems small but is actually bigger than any Japanese hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Dishes, soap, shampoo, everything you’d need is provided to you in the room. Great location, just minutes away from Hakata Station which will take you anywhere in Fukuoka (or outside of Fukuoka as well; it’s a major transportation hub). It was a bit noisy but this fact was disclosed beforehand in the apartment description and is to be expected since it’s close to the station. Everything was clean and tidy and the staff service is excellent. I’d stay here again if ever in Fukuoka because it was a great value and a great room. No complaints whatsoever and I highly recommend this to travelers in Fukuoka!

Very kind employees helped me out as soon as I got to the hostel. I did not know it would be pouring rain when I arrived in Fukuoka, which made the walk from the nearest metro stop to the hostel unbearable, but they were extremely accommodating despite arriving early in the morning. I was able to access the amenities to dry off and dry my clothes and borrow an umbrella, which made all of the difference. During the much needed recovery time, I found the hostel to be clean, new, and equipped with a cute bar, laundry, and a common area. The walk to the metro is also only five minutes once the rain ceased and is actually shorter than the distance you'd walk between the canal city hostels to its closest metro stops. Personally liked the secluded, quiet, residential atmosphere of common de hostel in comparison to the city centers. I look forward to coming back.

I stayed here for a few days while visiting Fukuoka. The rooms are basic but you hlget what you pay for. The lobby makes it feel more expensive than it really is. Felt they could have labeled the location a bit better. The sign was hard to see unless you walk right past it and turn your head. Friendly staff and close to some shopping centers.

The location is perfect, walking distance from Tenjin and the nightlife of Fukuoka, nearby bus station and subway connects you to everything else very easily. The cafe and bar downstairs, and the common room upstairs, are a great place to meet other travelers or locals if you are traveling solo. The whole hostel gets cleaned everyday so bathrooms and bedrooms are spotless, beds are comfortable and have a curtain for privacy. The rooms also have a locker you can use to store your small valuables in like passport, wallet or electronics. The staff here are easily the most fun people I’ve ever met. Always down to swap stories and provide recommendations. Can’t wait till the next time I’m in Fukuoka to visit Su, Anna, Pei Ying, Yuya, Keisuke, and the rest of my The LIFE Hostel and Bar friends! everything is good except no proper blanket and pillow. They provide a plain piece of cloth long enough to cover...hope they change it in winter

If you are visiting Fukuoka for the first time, this location is arguably the best place to be. The area is very cosy surrounded by cafés and bars, and it is very close to the train station. It has similar vibe as to Tokyo's Omotesando area which is very nice. Though it is surrounded by bars, the area is not noisy. The only downfall with this hotel is that it is smaller than the average Japanese business hotels. Overall a very good location and I would stay here again. The staff were very friendly too which is always a pluss.

Though its far from the subway, but worth value of your money. I love the kitchen. And its complete.. thumbs up to the owner

I stayed here before my flight from Fukuoka Airport. Since the hotel is at the center of Fukuoka I can enjoy my nightlife in Tenjin. From the hotel to the airport take about 30 mins due to the traffic jam about 8.30 am. But if you have time and not a lot of luggages like me you can use the subway.

A very stylish hostel located slightly outside the Fukuoka city centre. It’s about 5 min walk to the nearest subway station and from there, you can have easy access to the city centre and airport. It has the basic amenities that you would expect, and cleanliness was well-maintained. The common area is located on the second floor, where there is also the kitchen. There is also a very stylish book cafe on the first floor. One thing to note is that the rooms are located on the second and third floor, and there is no elevator, so be prepared to bring your luggage up the stairs!

Since this is a hostel, do not expect amenities like hotel. But most hotels in Fukuoka (or Hakata) does not have lots of amenities too. Hana Hostel is an amazing hostel that is located in Kami Kawabata Shopping Arcade, near to Canal City and Nakasu Kawabata Station. During my stay, you can see many other tourists/backpackers went out till (very) late! I stayed in a 8-person mix dorm, and I have my own little cupboard. I can draw up the curtains and I will have my own private space. For the pricing, I will definitely opt to go for this hostel for my trip to Hakata region next time.

You can start you Fukuoka odyssey at this cozy place. Decorous lounge at 9F: full of books along with maps marked with recommended restaurants and attractions to visit. They have provided kitchenware so you don't need to bring your own stuff (and you can surely cook over there, if you are saving money for buying souvenirs :D ). Don't worry about the shower rooms, they are nearly pristine at the second floor! Last but not least, the affable staff speak at least two languages among English, Chinese and Korean. (Japanese is a must I assume haha) To conclude, this is the place where I would love to stay if I go Fukuoka again.

My stay at First Cabin was perfect. The underground train is right under the building of the hotel. There is a supermarket in the same building of the hotel too. Surrounding area is very colorful with bars and restaurants, but it's kind of convenient to me. I love the shared bathroom with an onsen pool. Once get back to the hotel I could enjoy hot bath and relaxed. Definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Fukuoka.

This was the first time I have stayed in a guest house. I was not expecting it to be this clean, convenient and friendly. The location is very close to the subway. The mixed room that I stayed in had a total of 8 beds tightly packed into a small area. Each bed had a curtain to provide some privacy, but your experience here will be mostly based on the other guests in your room. The first night 2 guys were drunk and speaking loudly around 2 a.m. and one other night someone was trying to pack their suitcase at 5 a.m. The sleeping area is on the 4th floor and the showers, toilets, lounge and check in are all on the 3rd floor. The main entrance is controlled by a touch-pad key system, so the place felt secure. There is also a group of lockers available and you can cable lock your suitcase to some guardrails inside too. It was an overall good experience and I would recommend staying to other travelers. I gave a 4 for the Staff mainly because you cannot get in the guest house after 8 PM without calling or emailing them. I gave a 4 for the Facilities mainly because of the room being a bit too closely packed - I would rather pay more for them to have only 6 beds in there. ** Side note ** The people of Fukuoka were GREAT! Everyone I talked to was very nice and many people went out of their way to help me. On two different occasions I had asked someone for assistance with getting to the subway and both times the person I asked walked me over 3 blocks to ensure that I got to my destination.

If you have the top bunk near the window, the curtains around the bed can't be closed properly because of the air conditionner (right above you). The bathroom was not very clean, even when I was the first to use it. It's ok for a couple of nights, but I wouldn't recommend this place for a whole stay in Fukuoka if you plan to stay for a long time (it is quite far from the main station by walk, and VERY far from the main touristic areas).

Hostel is well kept & quiet. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Though it is roughly about a 20-minute walk from Hakata Station, it is worth the effort. I hope they'll provide free laundry next time.

Cabin rooms are cleaned and beddings are changed everyday. Though guests are not allowed to stay within 10-16:00 because of cleaning time. Value for money is excellent. Hotel location is walking distance from Hakata station and most of the tourist attractions in the city. I highly recommend this hotel for solo budget travellers.

This hostel was really great. I made the reservation about 20 minutes before arriving due to a missed train, and as with most modern hostels I've stayed at in Japan it was wonderfully clean. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to Hakata, which isn't the best walk with suitcases, but the clean, comfortable bed made up for that. The entire facility was very clean, the breakfast was really nice as well. Cute outdoor space in the middle with a hammock. Might stay again if I visit Fukuoka!

+ve Cleanliness: Relatively clean. The building and guesthouse is not very new but it is kept clean by staff everyday. Baths and showers are clean. Lounge area is cozy and clean. Facilities: Wi Fi in room. Showers are shared only within the dorm itself. Lounge available for cooking and eating. Washing machine for free!!!! Space to dry clothes on the rooftop. There are big lockers in room and lock and keys are provided. Staff: The staff were awesome to say the least. Alyssa was super patient in helping me make a call to a dolphin cruise i wanted to go to which was really far away. And she even offered to cancel it for me since it was not really feasible. I think only Alyssa and another staff knows how to speak english but i think you can get by easily. They are very friendly and helpful. -ve Location: Not really a very bad location per se but it is not really close to the subway. It is a 7-10 minutes walk from the nearest train station. Also it is perhaps a 15-20 minutes ride away to the major stations like Tenjin and Hakata. BUT it is not really a huge negative point for me since i did not mind the 20 minutes train ride. There are family marts/ 7-11 a short walk away so location was not too bad. FINAL THOUGHTS Considerably cheap for a 4 bed dormitory. Decent location (although a 5 minutes walk to the station). Each Dorm has their own toilet! (So you only share it with at most 4 people at a time). STAFF ARE SUPER FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. I had an awesome stay here, the people were amazing and facilities were clean and good! I would rate it 5 stars for value for money!

Location is very good for backpacker around 1 km from Hakata station to far but pretty good street view a lot of convenience store family mart 20 step from hostel, staff speak English very well, in hostel you can cook, take a rest in big living room but have only 1 bath room. if you need to rent bicycle they have 3 units. Bed time is very quite, smooth, individual multi AC adapter plug for charge your battery. So, I prefer this hostel for everyone If i came back to FUKUOKA, Hakata I will booking this hostel again

Guest House Naraya doesn't have it all, but, if you want a clean place to stay for a good price, this is it. This is one of the cheapest guest houses to stay at in Fukuoka, aside from an internet/manga cafe. I stayed at Naraya in august, a very hot and humid month. I slept in the male dorm room on the second floor. So, I can't speak for other rooms on the main floor. Overall, given the price, it's a good deal. Facilities at Naraya are sparse; the 'kitchen' area is made up of a sink, mini refrigerator, an electric kettle, 6 plastic cups, a place for two people to sit (Two people sitting in kitchen fill the room) and a washing machine for clothes. So, that's it; no plates, no utensils, an empty water dispenser (tap water ok). It looked like they had bath towels next to the shower/toilet, but, wasn't sure. There weren't enough to go around, I had my own anyway. The good news is that it was very clean and other travelers were relatively quite and courteous. Beds didn't have sheets, only what appeared to be a mattress pad and a blanket. I didn't have sheets, but, this was adequate for me since it was very clean. the room was nice and cool, strong airconditioner. I had a good night sleep. So, if you're looking for a good sleep for cheap in a clean place, this would be the place. If you want a place to hangout, make food, share stories with fellow travelers look around. Fukuoka has many guesthouses.

Nice and quiet place. We enjoyed our 5 day stay.in this property. The guy who was in charge, mr. Soc, was very kind and tried his best to communicate to us in English . Will recommend the place to our friends and we hope to stay here again next time we go back to Fukuoka.

stayed with them only for a night since i arrived in Fukuoka 6pm and have to do a half-day trip to Hiroshima on my way to Osaka/Kyoto the next day. The hostel is near the Nakasukawabata Subway Station (direct link to Fukuoka Airport) and just within the roofed shopping street. Rooms are quite small though bed is comfortable enough. they do not have elevator so request for a room at the 2nd floor if you have heavy bags with you. They have shower and bathroom in each floor. they also have a restaurant/bar at the ground floor which is so cool! coffee/tea/water are free though they do not have free breakfast!

If want to be in the Fukuoka nightlife/foodie scene, great location. ~10+ minute walk to Kuko/Orange/Airport subway line. Staff is friendly and hotel feels modern. Rooms are typical-big-Japan-city size (snug/small), but clean and minimal; though, there was some noice "leakage" from walls and door.

This Capsule Hostel is exceptional! Best Location at Nakasu, Fukuoka. Exit No. 2 at Nakasukawabata Station at Airport Subway Link. Walking distance to the Kushida Shrine and Canal City, Nakasu RedLight District Restaurants and Convinience stores. Very Clean Facilities, but you need to leave at 11AM because of their General Cleaning, and back at 4PM. But that is ok, it is very clean! Highly recommended for Solo Travelers :D

Location was good for me to go parks to see cherryblossoms. But If you visit Fukuoka for other reason like just toursim, I recommend Hakata or Tenjin where are good for transportion. Staffs were open minded and greatly welcomed me ,specially Marie(?) was really kind. She speaks English little. Bedroom was clean and all bed has curtains so I could feel relaxed. Shower rooms, Toilets, Common area were clean and nice. I had no problem to use them. Breakfast was very good. But I felt litte bit sad that there was only one menu. I just used bar on th 1st floor once because there was always full... but it was great and they have menus in Korean and English. Do not hesitate to use the bar. Staffs will help you. Only cash policy was one dissapointed point. 벚꽃구경을 하러 후쿠오카에 간 저에게는 숙소의 위치가 정말 좋았습니다. 공원이 가까워 산책을 가거나 꽃을 구경하기에 편했습니다. 하지만 일반 관광객분들은 텐진이나 하카타를 추천합니다. 숙소는 굉장히 깔끔하고 좋았습니다. 1층의 선술집은 한 번 이용했는데 영어와 번역기로 시도했더니 한국어 메뉴가 있어서 놀랐습니다. 한번쯤 이용해 볼만합니다. 다만 카드 사용이 불가능한 점 알아두세요!
