More about Jeonju-si

Jeonju is located in the Honam region, home to much of the country’s agricultural production. The best way to access the city is by train or bus, as the nearest airport is over an hour away. The train journey from Seoul is just under three hours, plenty of time to enjoy the scenery as the train leaves the big city and enters the green agricultural region.

A visit to the Hanok Village offers one of the most unique and complete cultural and historic experiences for any tourist. This village is comprised of traditional Korean homes built as far as the fourteenth century, and feature activities such as making traditional paper along with trying very traditional foods and beverages. This is certainly a must-see destination for any traveler looking to experience the old Jeonju as it once was.

Travelers with an interest in a bit of nightlife should head to the University District, where there are local and western-style bars and restaurants around the university. This area is one of the popular gathering places for locals of any age, perfect for mingling with locals and picking up on some of the local culture.
