"This resort is situated on a gorgeous private island with crystal clear waters, abundant palm trees and tropical fish in the surrounding coral reefs - it doesn't get better than this in terms of a relaxing beach location! There are several beaches on the island so sometimes we were the only ones enjoying them which was amazing. Our room was essentially a private villa with a private swimming pool which was an incredibly luxurious experience (and it was great to use the heated pool after the sun went down). The staff were very attentive and helpful, while the facilities were great and could keep you busy for days (including paddle boards, little canoes to use in the sea, gym, diving centre with diving excursions etc). The only area of improvement would be the food, which was slightly disappointing (especially given that you don't have any choice other than to eat at the island's only restaurant - it could be much improved relative to the offerings on the main island!)"Show more

"We really enjoyed our stay in samasama guesthouse. The staff is always happy to help you out with suggestions what you can do on the island and even offers snorkeling trips.
In the evening we all sat together and it was a very nice atmosphere.

Arys Lagoon Bungalow & Hotel
"Ary's is located on the most beautiful beach in Karimunjawa. It has great access to the islands for snorkeling and epic views to calm anyone's stressed out lifestyle.
The hotel itself isn't well maintained. We've stayed a few times and with each stay we see the level of poor maintenance even more clearly. The staff is kind and sweet but not proactive; whether this is due to laziness (doubtful) or poor training and discipline (most likely) is anyone's guess. But it does become somewhat painful if you stay here for more than a day or two.
Good news for Ary's is that right now there is no competition other than mattress on the floor local homestays...at least within a 30 minute motor bike drive...So if you want to stay on this beach (which you should) and you want to be in Kemojaan area (which you should) then Ary's is the only place for a somewhat up-market room....Aircon for 12 hours (the night) makes for a distinct luxury when it is hot and still on the beach.
So while I wish they would get their ____ together and learn some hotel management discipline, the fact is that the location is great and a few minutes a day of micro management can make sure the room gets tidied."Show more

Ayu Hotel Karimunjawa
"This accomodation is by far the nicest, most warm-hearted and comfortable place to stay on karimunjawa.
The rooms are amazing: very clean, comfortable beds and provided with a mosquitonet.
Every morning we enjoyed another delicious breakfast.
But by far the best of this hotel are their owners. Who will really help you with anything you need: Scooter rent, snorkeling trips and a lot of recommendations on the island. In addition to English they even speak German perfectly.
If you want to have carefree and relaxing holidays on this island, we would definitely recommend to stay in this peaceful place."Show more

Omah Alchy Cottages
"Options available are snorkelling, jungle trekking, island hopping on a fully equipped catamaran, discovering beautiful island vistas, checking out local produce or wandering into town to find a coffee shop in which to chill. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, though some a little challenged by foreign language, hey but I can't speak any of their local dialect and my Bahasa atrocious. The location is away from the centre, ocean front and mangrove rear. Tranquil and beautiful."Show more
