"The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of Keflavik airport. The Icelandair flight from Boston arrived around 23:00 and the onward flight to Manchester left at 08:00. Reykjavik and a wide choice of hotels are 45 minutes away by bus. We decided that it was worth booking in at the Aurora Star esp. as I read that people were moved on at KEF airport. No regrets - several hours sleep in a bed was the better option."

"We were staying at Start Keflavik Airport the night before our flight home. We had an early flight around 7 a.m. and had to drop off our rental car before that, but the hotel staff (Paulina) was incredibly sweet and offered to prepare breakfast for us extra early (3:30 a.m.). The breakfast itself was excellent as well, with a good variety of foods including hot oatmeal and freshly cut fruit. Our room was very spacious and perfectly clean. Despite the hotel being so close to the airport, there was no noise at night and we had a very nice and quiet (albeit short) night's sleep. The check-in and check-out procedure went very smoothly, again thanks to the hotel staff (Paulina). She was very warm and friendly, it was really nice to be greeted by such an enthusiastic staff member. All in all, despite our very short stay, we had a great experience at Start Keflavik Airport and we would definitely recommend choosing this hotel if you need a place to stay close to Keflavik airport. 10/10"

"Having stayed in 9 other hotels/air BNB around Iceland, this is my last stay in Iceland and is probably the least preferred one. We booked a room for 4 pax, which comprises of a double bed + 2 single beds. The layout of the room is so awkward that 1 of the single bed cannot be properly aligned with the wall - there is a huge gap between my pillow and the wall, and my pillow could fall off anytime. Also, the heater was touching my bed, and if i was not careful when i sleep, i could touch the heater and hurt myself unknowingly. the toilet door could not be locked (simply no lock function!). the basin drainage hole is not covered, and it is as huge as 5cm across so anything could drop in and u can forget about recovering it. the toilet has no hanging hooks, and ironically the hook was at the external part of the door - so how should we hang our clothes when we shower? hmmm... location wise it is very near to Keflavik international airport. free parking. no much food choices around."

"We were looking for a place to stay the night before our early flight leaving Iceland. This was a pleasant surprise of how much space we had and what a nice house it was. When we arrived, the host was not present, but we were able to let ourselves into the house and get settled. No one seems to live there, but all of the rooms are rented out to traveling guests. It is a shared bathroom with other guests, but we never even saw any other guests during our stay, and we only even saw the host one time during our visit. She was very pleasant, but didn't spend much time at the house. There is a nice kitchen in the house and a small bit of shared common space to relax if you want to be out of your room, though the room itself was reasonably big also. It is located in a residential area, so there isn't too much to do right close to the house, but that was okay for our needs. We found a good restaurant just a short drive away in a nice downtown area of Keflavik and got one last Icelandic hotdog before we departed the next morning."
