Best hotels & accommodations in Khajuraho

Great place to stay. Arguably, the largest resort property in Khajuraho. Staff services could be a bit better. Could live with a better breakfast menu. Location, best in the town. Highly recommended. Spacious and well maintained rooms. Bathroom has a tub and 5x shaving mirror apart from the other standard items. Try this one if you are at Khajuraho.

Excellent location from which to explore Khajuraho as everything is at a walk able distance. The staff are seriously friendly and the restaurant food is top quality - do not forget to ask for bacon for breakfast if it take your fancy. Do not pay for the WIFI as they will offer it as free (complementary) if you complain about paying for it !

The architecture of the hotel is really wonderful, no matter in day light or night. The location of this hotel is also very good. Never regret staying in Lalit. Quite and near the temple. Breakfast was good. Room was cleaned except a bit glaring during the afternoon sun. The temples are within walking distance. The garden landscape is beautiful. Very resort style. I would recommend this place for anyone who wished to go to Khajuraho.

I am a frequent traveler and have stayed at multiple hotels of all categories at India and abroad. When it comes to customer service, The Radisson Jass Khajuraho stands amongst the best in India. The property is recently renewed and stands beautiful with minor attention to details taken into consideration. It has all the amenities and services of a world class hotel and a staff that is always willing to go an extra mile to help. It was a delightful one day stay at The Raddison and probably was highlight of our Khajuraho trip. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

I am an artist and was so excited to see the walls painted with interesting stuff, by guests too. . Pushkar and the staff were very welcoming . Everything was in order. The location is so convenient , everything is at walkable distance. . There are rules but again quite free flowing. There was so much to bond over with fellow travellers... Longes on both floors,, equipped with games, music, television, books to read . And of course what we did most late into the night..played badminton. There is food available if you want , a nice neat menu , nothing flamboyant but super. You are free to cook if you want to in the kitchen. The terrace a great place for star gazing and late night chats... So as not to disturb other guests. And as solo woman travelling I felt absolutely at home. I did take a couple of trips around and the guys at zostel made the arrangements. And because of my stay at Khajuraho zostel I am surely going to try out their other properties

The towels are falling apart and yellowing and there were some strange stains on the paper-thin, sandpaper sheets. This being India I was going to ignore it as long as they were clean, but they reeked with unmistakable stench of body odor. Many of the rooms are built around an open atrium with stairs to the lobby and the event space. We could hear every footstep, voice, and lyrics of the raucous birthday party they were hosting. It took multiple requests to end the party and, though it finally did, they could do nothing about the jubilant guests running up and down the hallways at full volume. The managers tried graciously to persuade me to stay with brand new sheets and towels and a free meal. Too little to late. We abandoned the hotel at 11:30pm and found a cheaper, nicer hotel somewhere else. There are many other hotels in Khajuraho, I urge you to stay at one of those. I feel like we would've had better rest in a hostel dorm and I'll be asking for my money back.

This did not put us down and it still ticks all the right boxes a budget hotel should have :-) Cheers Allwyn

I did mistake in my booking I booked room one day too early. When I went there one day after they said I can stay still without any extra cost. Can you believe this happening in India? Room was clean and big. I think it is best if you just walk in! Location is close to Khajuraho temples.

Beautiful new hotel! Upper floor was not finished yet which didn't bother me. Delicious meals, spacious rooms, quiet location. Close to the Temples and to the airport. Owner of the hotel available to arrange transportation for you and recommend what to see in town. Good energy in the hotel and the whole town. I recommended it to my friends.

What was to be a 2 day stay, became a magical week. Farman is kind, loving, and immensely generous. I expressed a desire to know local village life, and that’s exactly what he shared with me, and then some! He took me all over, around, and beyond Kajuraho. I expressed a desire to know local village life, and that’s exactly what he shared with me, and then some! He took me all over, around, and beyond Kajuraho. We went to the remotest villages and farms, hiked the mountains, went to distant forestland, small out-of-the-way dhabbas, and other special spots. He shared history and culture of the land, his personal vision, time, and things very close to his heart. He offered everything without ever asking for a single rupee. Nor did I ever feel as though there were any expectations. This inspired me to be as generous as possible. We became fast friends, brothers. Getting to stay with him and his family - brother Farhan, parents, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, talking with them, having dinner with them - had me feeling as part of the family. When visiting Kajuraho, please stay here with Farman and his beautiful family.

It was wonderful to stay at a hotel that the staff spoke English especially after a disaster staying at the Bhopal Grande Hotel. Usha Bundela Hotel was costing half the price then the Bhopal Grande. It is very close to all the sights. All of the facilities were working properly! Not like in the Bhopal Grande! At the Bhopal Grande you could not even close your door or when you closed it, you could not open it. At the Bhopal Grande you could not have a shower as the thermostat mixer was not working! Here at the Usha Bundela Hotel everything was working properly and you can have a hot shower any time. They had extra accessories like shampoo, body lotion, shower cap, hair dryer etc. In the Bhopal Grande you did not even have a soap! At the Bhopal Grande only one person of staff could speak English, and when he was not there you were lost - nobody can understand you. Breakfast etc staff was super unprofessional at Bhopal Grande. At the Usha Bundela all staff was friendly, speaking your language and being professional in what they were doing! The room, towels and bed sheets were clean! The had a swimming pool and they also had two dining rooms. While the Bhopal Grande had neither! You have to pay extra for the internet but it was the fastest connection that we ever had in India. At the Bhopal Grande they do say that they have wifi but it constantly crashing and it is super slow - so not at all workable! You do have value for your money at the Usha Bundela Hotel! While the pricing at the Bhopal Grande Hotel was an absolute scam! Khajuraho is a very nice place to see. I would say actually it is a must see in India! The temples are amazing and the waterfalls are beautiful! And then there is a national park near to it as well. Go and see it and stay at Usha Bundela Hotel!

wonderful location in quiet village right nixt to temples, everything walking distance. lovelely roof terrace, really nice staff, everything is cooked fresh and tastes really great, best coffee in India:) Sheets unfortunately quite stained but otherwise nice and clean, and definitely recommendable! I liked it

The good stuff - Its close to the western group, the lake and shilpigram. Lovely property, well maintained and courteous staff. The hospitality staff is the best i have seen ( surprised us by decorating our room for our anniversary night ). Rooms are always kept neat and tidy. They provide free gear cycles to get around Khajuraho. Room rates are decent. They have free wifi for 24 hours usage time ( 2 device per room) after which you have select a plan to continue using. We stayed for 3 days and 24hour usage was enough for us for the entire stay ( used around 16h i think ). Food is great, loved the breakfast spread. Excellent service. They even provided us a room to freshen up after we decided to go out for one last visit after checkout. The bad - wifi charges are insane once you are done with the 24hour plan. The travel desk quotes exorbitant price for transportation ( Double that of the normal taxi rates outside the hotel ) The food is tasty but too expensive to justify ( 10k + tax for treehouse dining? ) Some of the cycles offered were in bad shape ( rusted, rickety and badly maintained ) I had to fix one outside midway through my eastern temple visit.

I stayed for one night at Hotel Green House. The hotel is right across the street from the Khajuraho bus station and is a 5 minute (or so) walk to the west temple group. Budget hotel in central location close to Khajurahos temples and restaurants. Very cold in winter as no heating available and air condition ventilation hole still open. Our room had small windows with no view. Could be a very nice hotel if the management would improve cleaniness of the room and especially the bath room.

And even said we could call for help after we had left khajuraho. The room was a decent size and clean, air con worked well and the bathroom was clean. Wifi only worked in the foyer which was charged for and it was slow, this was the only criticism of this hotel during our stay. The restaurant and food was excellent and the best poori barjis in India. Not a bad location. About 1 km into the small town and the western temples. We we picked up at the train station as promised by a very smilie face at 0500. There were three of us stating and we were all really pleased with our stay and we would def come back.

Worst hotel room I have ever visited in my life. No positive and all negative. Worse than sleeping on a footpath. I made a big mistake by selecting cheapest hotel. Room was pathetic, bedding not cleaned, no toilet seat, no light in toilet, no power switch to charge mobile, no remote for tv. Completely mess.

The room I ended up in still had a smelly blanket. If you stay (and you might, the location is just across the street from the Temples and it's cheap) DO NOT eat at the restaurant. Breakfast was alright (but not included) so I ate there again. The veg mac and cheese was one of the worst things I've been served in my life. Wish I could include a pic. Finally, I asked one of the guys how late the train to Varanasi usually ran and if I could make a connecting flight. He assured me it rarely ran so late I wouldn't be able to get to the airport. Sure enough we didn't get to Varanasi until

Owner definitely went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay -- he only recently listed the hotel on Agoda, and clearly is willing to do what is necessary to build up a good reputation here. Apparently the place was mostly geared towards Indian tourists up to now, but is trying to raise its standards to attract more foreign tourists. Still no wifi, but owner says it will be installed next year. Rooms vary (the first room we saw had no natural light, but we were quickly switched to a much lighter room), and the owner will definitely try to make sure you're comfortable with your room, etc. We also booked our railway tickets with him at a much lower fee than we could have gotten from any of the agencies in town. Overall, it's certainly a reasonable option if you're looking to book a cheap place in Khajuraho and don't need the wifi (which it may even have by the time you read this).

This being India I was going to ignore it as long as they were clean, but they reeked with unmistakable stench of body odor.

At the time of year we were staying khajuraho was quiet (tourist wise) hence the hotel was quiet too. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and went out if their way to help us.

It has all the amenities and services of a world class hotel and a staff that is always willing to go an extra mile to help.

We booked and paid on Agoda. Went to the hotel to find out they have no rooms available. Gave them to an Italian group who had just arrived. Zero professionalism, made me wait with my old mother for hours on the cold night finally to resettle us in another hotel. The hotel quality also was pretty bad - shabby rooms, bad location. Surprised by the good reviews they are getting - most probably paid for. Avoid this hotel at all costs

The good stuff - Its close to the western group, the lake and shilpigram. Lovely property, well maintained and courteous staff.

Traveler impressions of Khajuraho
I'm so glad we didn't skip this site! We loved the ancient temples (don't forget to get the Eastern Jain temples too).
We even took a safari trip booked through our hotel (Hotel Harmony) and were very pleased with it. A group had spotted a tiger in the morning but we didn't get one. Regardless, it was very enjoyable with plenty of birds, monkeys, crocodiles, peacocks, boars, and jackals. Like I said, I'm glad we didn't miss this town.
a place worth to see as UNESCO world heritage site, exceelent sound and light show at western group of temples campus performed by MP tourism
One full day is enough for all temples. Hiring a "tuktuk" or taxi is better than cycling. The roads are too undeveloped and hard for cycling, unless you love mountain cycling.
.. The temples are stunning and worth a visit.
In the monsoon time vendors around the temples were desperate to make some kind of business and got very agressive.
We felt very uncomfortable and didn't think of buying anything there, even if we had planned to support local business. Also the taxi driver couldn't stop suggesting us to visit all kinds of attractions even when he was clearly told we were not interested. This was different in the hotel which felt like a quiet retreat.
It's really relaxing to meet Khajuraho's inhabitants. No hassling, just friendly people. The temples are small and pretty but am not sure it worth the trip as all travel guides emphasize.
Lovely countryside, visit outlying temples as well. Wonderful craftwork available - but some VERY hassle-y vendors.
There are the Eastern and Western group of monuments/temples. The monuments are spectacular and very well maintained, despite the damages caused in the course of history, mostly vadalised and disfigured.
It is nice for a couple of days to see the temples relax and hire a bike to see the old village, very small town so very easy to get out into the rural areas and see the real india
The temples here have to be some of the best in India. So well preserved and presented, not to mention the erotic element! The town is almost entirely geared towards tourists so there's a good selection of restaurants, internet places and the usual souvenir/ shawl shops.
However, because it is so small, you stand out more than ever as a tourist so the people are ALL over you, especially if you're a young woman. I was there two days and didn't get a minute to myself as there are a lot of young men with not much else to do but 'make friends' with the visitors. Still well worth a visit though; probably most accessible by air as the airport is only 2km from the town.
Khajuraho is a must see on any visit to India. Teh Temples are absolutely amazing in their detail and remarkable condition considering their old age.
What's more, Khajuraho is a countryside village, which is a real treat after many of the busier places on most traveller's trips (eg. Agra, Varanasi, Jaipur). We only stayed one night, but we're a bit sad about it, because it's a great place to just chill out.
It is a very small rather grubby village. Well worth the visit for the world famous temples. It has several big name hotels and many cheaper establishments.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink, from so called 5* hotels to street vendors. It is easily possible to walk or cycle around all the temples barring the farthest south one. We chose an A/C taxi, they are very cheap and we are lazy. The routes to some temples are very rough tracks.
