"The mantra resort was nicely maintained and the lagoon pool was awesome for our 18 month old daughter as she could confidently walk in and out of the pool and play along the shore line with her toys. We spend a few hours a day sitting down relaxing while she played. Special mention to the Mexican place in salt village and the buffet breakfast you can get at peppers was pretty good value for money when it was 2for1 with under 12 free. We had a 1 bedroom spa suite which has a full kitchen and separated bedroom. Definitely returning next year. The location is out of the main streets of Kingscliff but it’s only a short drive or a 15 bike ride into town. "

"We had a perfect three nights at Santai for our 20th anniversary. Having read other reviews about Santai there were things I was concerned about but the truth is Santai are apartments not a hotel resort & for that (and the price which was half the cost of close by hotel resorts) it was phenomenal. Nope the room isn't made up daily & there isn't room service etc. but we didn't pay for that...we also could hardly say we paid for the stunning pool area where the boys behind the bar at the restaurant will bring you drinks in plastic & food during their opening hours...we had one of the most relaxing afternoons I can remember having just reading, swimming, drinking, repeat! The king size bed was wonderfully comfortable although I can't say the same for the little couch in front of the TV I'm afraid. My wife LOVED the spa bath in the room & although it was just a single it was big enough to be comfortable for my large frame! The Spice Den restaurant is packed every night so make sure you book in busy seasons but the food was really great. The resort is not near too much else although Osteria cafe/restaurant is only a 10min walk away for your morning coffee if you don't want to use the pod machine in your room & then it is only a 5 min drive to Salt Village & another 5 to Kingscliff...really only a problem if everyone you are with wants to have a few drinks in which case I suppose it is taxi time. If you want more & are willing to pay for more then do that but if this is your budget you will get more than you bargained for."

"Chose Peppers as we were looking for. A premium experience. Room was dirty, very out of date and poorly maintained. Hotel in general is very tired and hardly felt like a premium brand or experience. So not worth the cost. Breakfast was very average (3 star quality), and room service dinner was almost cold on arrival. Would never stay here again "
