Hotel Crown Hills Kitami
"This hotel is in a good location in central Kitami. It is close enough to the station, shops, and restaurants. This is a hotel which has been partly renovated, but the smell of stale smoke in the entrance lobby is still there - for non-smokers like us did not make a good first impression. The staff seems friendly, but despite the fact we both spoke Japanese, there was a bit of panic when we appeared at reception.
Breakfast was in the usual Japanese buffet style. It was just okay on the first morning, and on the second day most choices had disappeared, and a single staff member seemed to be asked to cover it all: cooking, dishes, serving, etc. This lovely lady was trying her best to do an impossible task.
The Wifi never worked at all in our room despite the several routers seen in the corridor and one found in our room. You could use the Internet while standing next to the elevator. Overall, I have stayed at many traditional business hotels in Japan, but this place needs further improvement before I can recommend it."Show more
