Find Hotels in Koka, Japan

I will do my best to put this hotel in a good light. I was tired and perhaps this affected my overall impression. I found the place particularly drab and slightly depressing. Other than that, I had no major complaint about the place. It offers standard budget hotel rooms in the Japanese style: a narrow room, a plastic molded bathroom, drink machines in the corridor, washing machines and drier to do laundry, etc. There is no elevator for the upper floor levels. There was a misunderstanding with my payment and my room had not been paid in advance as usual. I didn't realise that as I had made many bookings in one go. The man at reception didn't speak any English and my Japanese was weak. He wanted me to pay for the room and I refused thinking I had already done so. However, the issue was dealt with much patience and respect in the great Japanese tradition. I am the one who had to apologise in the end.
