Best hotels & accommodations in Kudat

The staffs were all extremely accommodating! We bought a mango along our road trip from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat and wanted to ask if we could borrow some utensils to cut it. Turns out, not only did the kitchen staff helped us cut the mango, it was then served nicely on a plate (covered hygienically with a clean-wrap when we asked to have it in our room instead of the di...

Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Serendipity villa. It took some effort to find out how to get there without a car but that was our only struggle for the rest of our stay. As soon as we arrived we were taken care of like three princesses. As we were almost the only guests for our 4 night stay all of the staff members taking care of us 24/7. Every ...

Since I have had travelled in many countries in South East Asian countries in every winter, this resort is the one of the best places. The beach is, without hesitation, the most beautiful beach in Malaysia and nearby tip of Borneo park is awesome. No noisy or crowd, almost private white sand beach in front of the hotel and allowing me a stunning sunset walk, amazing vi...

This is definitely a beautiful place set at a beautiful location. Bear in mind that this faces the sea on a hill rather than attached to the beach directly. Nevertheless, it is indeed beautiful, exotically set up with simple but meaningful decorations. Ground staff were excellent, friendly and professional. Not to forget the cold lime welcome drink on a hot sunny day. ...

Helpful staff. Rooms on ground floor newer vs those on 1st floor. A pub/ karaoke nearby so expect your late night to be somewhat noisy, otherwise a quiet area during the day. A grocery shop and eateries within walking distance. Kudat main town is only about 5 mins drive away.

This is a perfect place for a couple. A little hard to find. GPS gets you almost there. When the pavement ends there is a dirt road. Drive about 50 meters and turn left up a little hill for 10 more. There is a little house on the left where you can park. Then you have a short walk across the rice field to the little paradise. There is no internet connection. The view...

The Maranjak Longhouse Hotel is optimal for a short stay. The hotel stuff looked very well after us and entertained us with Rungus games in the evening. We also enjoyed the Rungus dinner very much. It would be nice, if they would offer also bikes for children!! I also think there jungle tour need lots of improvement!!!

Beautiful small villa huts equipped with working airconditioners and electric-gas hot water shower (if u need one) located by the beach. The place is clean and there is a small fridge too. At the beach we were able to snorkel in knee to thigh depth crystal clear water. There are sea gardens and rock formations along the beach. This made it fun for families with childre...

Traveler impressions of Kudat
There's nothing special about Kudat if you compare with the other towns in Sabah but still worth to visit!
Kudat town is truly boring and not worth to visit a place like this with long distance travelling. The signboard along its roads is misleading.
Town centre looks like it was all centrally planned and built in the 1980s. The shops are in tidy rows with small park strips in between.
Its a place you go to get away from the hectic life of town. There is not much attraction or place of interest but has GREAT seafood! I suggest you come here 2-3 days to sleep and eat and enjoy the calmness in life.
beautiful beaches about, some of which are excellent for surfing, while others are good for watching lonely cattle and blood-red sunsets.
The town is so quiet. I want to do jet ski but it seems like no service for tht. We went to milimewa, a shopping building and it smells like there was a dead whale died near there.
Local delicacies are available at central market. Famous fried noodle stall is at first floor of market.
Kudat is not geared for tourism at all, however if you enjoy experiencing local culture it has a very interesting market and fish market to wander through, and the main part of town is quite pretty with large shady trees down the middle of the road.
Before you start travel to Kudat, please full fill your petrol tank cause Kota Belud towards Kudat there is NO PETROL STATION.
Not many place to visit at Kudat, except the Simpang Mengayau (Tips Of Borneo) and the nearest island.
