The Inn has all the basic amenities and is clean (not sparkling or new) but sufficient, considering we are in Lahad Datu. Pros: The air con is cold, the water pressure is strong with steady hot water, there are clean towels and fair breakfast variety, local diner 2mins walk away with many delicious local dishes, giant supermarket in same building, service with a smile, staff brought hairdryer promptly when requested. Cons: roadside and therefore noisy, breakfast not kept hot (we ate at 8am, no attempt had been made to keep the food water vats hot), bed and sheets fairly worn (though clean).

First time in Lahad Datu, the hotel is located at old town area, but is near to where our working place. The hotel looks old but we are surprised that the staffs here are really friendly and gave us a lot of suggestions as where to get nice food and transport. The hotel looks old but we are surprised that the staffs here are really friendly and gave us a lot of suggestions as where to get nice food and transport. Very happy with the internet speed, the air-conditioner was working great and the room I booked (2 single beds) were really spacious and comfortable. Although the first night we were not really happy with the cleanliness of the toilet, but they cleaned the toilet the next day without us even complaining. Is was really a pleasant surprise for the price I paid for the stay.

Internet can be variable, but the staff is great with calling taxis, laundry, bookings, etc. It's really the only place worth staying in Lahad Datu. Restaurant is passable. I haven't tried the western food; they were limited to the Ramadan dinner when I was there, but that was rally quite good.

We arrived with the bus 3 am. We wrote to the manager before leaving, and they told us that the reception was open 24/7. We came to a very spooky street and found the place with a lock on the door. We tried to call the number on the gate but no one answered. We had to book a night on a nearby hotel to avoid sitting on the street while waiting. We came to the hostel the...

They were very polite and the room was fine. The WiFi is horrible, and we couldn’t use it. The staff was friendly though. Fine place, but make sure to arrive in day time.

Simon and Tisha provide an outstanding experience in Lahad Datu. The B and B is extremely clean and well appointed. We would recommend taking the meal option as Tisha and Simon are excellent cooks and the dining experience is lovely. Also the food options in Lahad Datu are minimal. We would recommend taking the meal option as Tisha and Simon are excellent cooks and the dining experience is lovely. Also the food options in Lahad Datu are minimal. If you are traveling independently, Simon is very well-connected and knowledgeable about the area and can provide transport and a variety of tours (which could be difficult to organize in this area, particularly to Danum Valley). Their attention to detail on the tours is fantastic. The diving / snorkeling tours are good value for money and surprisingly stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days there and actually, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Right near the centre of the town, with some good food nearby (even 24 hours). The staff are friendly, however they have limited English so make sure if you are being transferred you have their number or determine if you will meet in the lobby (downstairs) or at the street level. Was good and exactly what we needed - a place to await transfer to Danum Valley.

Pros 1. Privacy place but still near to restaurant, mosque, market and supermarket 2. The staff is very friendly 3. Got fox movies channel in tv eventhough the tv is old, but still can b use Cons - can't expect much, it is just a small town, as we all know. It is lahad datu. At least still got hotel , market n food then it is just perfect

Traveler impressions of Lahad Datu
This was one of the dirtiest towns i have ever been to and i will never return - there is nothing there except rubbish - unfortunately we had to stop over there but would not recommend
nothing special in Lahad Datu but if you are travelling in Sabah you are forced to go there. Nice park with jungle around.
