Find Hotels in Las Galeras, Dominican Republic

I enjoyed 4 days at Serena. It is an older style hotel but is very lovely. A good sized room with a nice balcony, I kept the doors open all night, looking out and hearing the ocean. Beach is small but larger city beach is very close. Hotel is down a small road, west of the town so the motorbike noise is minimal and so it is a very peaceful place. The pool and grounds are great. Restaurant is good and other restaurants are only a short walk down the road. Not the cheapest place in town, but for the quality and location, the price is well worth it. It is not a large all inclusive modern mega resort. It is a quiet, well kept, friendly hotel that I would definitely return to. Las Galetas is at the end of the road on a small peninsula and is out of the way and therefore has less crazy traffic than some of the other locations in DR,

Important Issues: 1. Personal is very friendly, but just 1-2 speak English. (the rest just Spanish) 2. Apartments are not 2Beds Apartments, but just a house with everything in one room. 3. This hotel doesn’t accept credit cards, so you have to pay in hotel cash !!! (or PayPal, but you have to pay charge) Around the hotel is not possible to withdraw the money – but this is problematic in Dominican republic generally. (just small amount of money)

the hotel in not all inclusive! ironicly they have several levels of all inclusive, for the basic one they wanted extra money for wifi and for using the safe in the rooms. the staff is not so friendly. food is not so good. feels like the try to take more money from you. the hotel itself is very clean and nice looking.
