Best hotels & accommodations in Lhasa

I was about to finish my trip in Lhasa and therefore I did lots of shopping during the 2 days stay in this hotel~ the location of this hotel is quite to city shopping area~about 15-mins walk~and the path is nice and quite~even the temperture is quit high under the sun in Lhasa~ the walk is still pleased~ the room I booked is King Bed Room on the 1/F ~with a Giant Wind...

I had an extra day in Lhasa. The place is actually called a bike hostel on the sign which was confusing when trying to find. The place is new and it looks like there is still a lot of improvements being made. There was people putting together furniture in the main area with lots of smoking. I was given an upgrade because the single room with shared bathroom may have ...

We stayed here twice during our tibetan trip. The price was excellent for a twins room. Staff were nice and helpful. Rooms were cleam with basic amenities. We felt so good with the hot shower in lhasa. The rooftop was awesome for sunrise sunset and stary sky. We loved the moisturising machine in our room, this was a surprise, never expected rhis. The bad point was, the...

Morden style hotel with friendly staff. Clean, warm, quiet and offers plenty of breakfast options in both Chinese and western style. A bit far from the old town, but bus route 2 takes us to the Podala Place easily. Otherwise it's only a 10-min-taxi-ride. Jardin Secret is our base camp for visiting Tibet, letting us recover from long tiring trips! Definitely recommend!!...

First off, this is probably among the cheaper hotels in Lhasa where foreigners are permitted to stay at. If price is a consideration and you don't hold a Chinese ID, you can go ahead and book it. Positive things include friendly staff and practically walking distance to the Jokhang Temple / Dazhao Si. The place is somewhat hidden in an alley, but safety really isn't...

Clean great rooms. Comfortable beds. Better than many other hotels in Lhasa. Situated at a quiet clean neighbourhood of Lhasa, this is a place to stay while adjusting to high altittudes. Good service by friendly staff and should there be a need, there is an in-house physician to attend to AMS that might occur during the first few days in Tibet. There is a grocery store...

Stayed 5 nights at the St. Regis Lhasa. The hotel seems newly built and is conveniently located for touring Lhasa. Upon checking in we were generously upgraded to a large suite. After 2 nights we asked to be relocated to a different room as there was a foul odor in the room. We were promptly relocated to another suite. The bed and room were both quite comfortabl, ...

We were a group of four (two couples). Very nice hotel - very stylish, excellent location and nice staff. Getting to the hotel was a bit tricky and not appealing (Lhasa old town is being dug up). However once in the hotel its a quiet oasis. Nice clean room with space and good bathroom although bed tibetean hard and wireless access intermitient. Good views from roof t...

Yabshi Phunkhang is a charming boutique hotel with authentic Tibetan style architecture and deco. Unlike other boutique hotels in Lhasa, this one is very clean, from bed sheets to bath room. Besides its traditional exterior and interior, the hotel also equipped with modern plumbing. Staffs are very friendly. They sometimes go out of their way to accommodate our seeming...

I decided to book this hotel to relax after a tour to Everest Base Camp and back knowing that we would probably want to relax and knowing that in we would be trapped in Lhasa because of the Chinese rules and reg's. On arrival we had a problem as I booked a room with a "Landmark View". When we went into room there was a view of the garden and other rooms in the shangr...

This place looks and feels amazing, everything is grand and service was great - would have been better if more staff can speak/understand English as most of the people that I spoke with have a lot of trouble speaking anything other than Chinese (some even just ran away, luckily to grab someone else that can speak ~slightly better English...) Was disappointed that they...

Walking around Barkhor with the tibetan pilgrims is one of the best things I did in my life. I could do it for days.
Lhasa is a very attractive city, as Tibet is the roof of the world, it arouses people to come and experience its nature and people.
Lhasa is a buzzing city where hundreds of Tibetan pilgrims come every day to walk around the main temples ,prostrating in front of the statues representing the Buddha.
Lhasa is the main city of Tibet. Among all cities in Tibet, it has the most developed. Main attractions of course is Potala Palace and the many historical monasteries around Lhasa area.
