Keep your belongings secure and avoid displaying valuables. Additionally, it’s advisable to drink bottled water to stay hydrated and avoid any potential stomach issues.
When packing for your Luxor adventure, consider the climate. Lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal for daytime excursions, while a light jacket or sweater may be necessary for cooler evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring the ancient sites, and don’t forget your sunscreen and sunglasses to protect yourself from the strong sun. “I was a solo traveller and I would say the staff was one of the best I've ever seen. I want to give a shout-out to security guard Mr. Ashraf and shop owner Mr. Alaa el-Din, who was extremely professional and helped me with the problem I've faced in Luxor. Mr Alaa el-Din and one security guard with a moustache was very nice and every time I went out the hotel they greeted me well and gave me information about tourist places and what prices I would expect. The staff in the hotel spoke perfect English and smiled to the tourists all the time. Room was also super clean and spacious. The garden view was amazing. Swimming pool was big and clean. Location was near to every tourist places. 5 minutes walk to Luxor temple and Macdonald. Best hotel you can get from Luxor.”

“we only had two days here and unfortunately had to work for one of them so we didn't get to relax as much as we would have liked. hilton luxor is a lovely hotel, friendly staff and excellent management. the breakfast is varied and very good. the room services dinner we found to be too greasy (a problem overall we have found with eating in egypt generally) - they cook with butter rather than olive oil. we had a problem when we checked out - we advised the concierge that we need a taxi to take us to the blue sky marina (south of sheraton hotel) to joine our nile cruise ship the sonnesta moon goddess. the concierge spoke with the taxi driver and advised us the cost would be egp50. when we got to our destination, the taxi driver asked us for egp70 which made us angry and he blamed the concirege - so again - a problem in egypt not just the hilton luxor- is spivvy taxi drivers constantly trying to rip off travellers. the only other problem we had was not the hilton itself but rather booking through agoda and the problem agoda has with it's voucher system saying "breakfast is not included when it was included. i spent a lot of time tooing and froing trying to sort this issue out, and thankfully it was the helpful staff at hilton luxor who sorted the matter out and confirmed that agoda bookings for hilton luxor do include breakfast and the problem is agoda's error and problem with issuing incorrect vouchers. so thank you again nancy in hilton luxors reservation dept. however, due to the problem we had with agoda and how long it took agoda to rectify the problem, i am reluctant to use agoda again for booking hotel accommodation.”

“There is no other place to stay in Luxor that can compare. The Winter Palace is superb. Some scoff at the high price, and indeed you can stay next door in the adjacent sister Accor Pavillion hotel for half the price, but we found that the Old Winter Palace rooms have a timeless charm that are simply divine. Most rooms have a balcony overlooking the Nile or lush green garden. If you only have one night in Luxor, this is the place to splurge. It's still much more affordable than a luxury hotel in Cairo, and worth every penny! The facilities are 5 star and truly make you feel like you're staying at a fine european resort, but at a fraction of the cost! The rooms are large and comfortable. The view is absolutely stunning, especially over morning coffee on the balcony while felucca boats sail calmly down the palm-rich Nile below, with morning call to prayer humming distantly in the background. It's an equally lovely moment at sunset. Nothing is more exquisite than the impression this setting leaves on your mind. And the location is ideal. It's right next to the Luxor Temple which offers amazing sightseeing both day and night. The airport is only 15 minutes away by taxi. And the souks at the bazaar are just steps away. That is, if you can tear yourself away from your room, the pool, the elegant lounge where afternoon tea is served each day, or the tranquil gardens where you can sit and read a book or smoke a pipe. We highly recommend the Old Winter Palace Hotel and will return again most certainly.”

“The hotel staff were very helpful. First time getting a personalised welcomong note from the Manager. They have a lot of tour group booking but things were in control. The hotel is by the Nile and you get to see beautiful sunset. We came back to the room and caught the housekeeping making towel swans for us. Feels like we're on honeymoon again. Hotel is also safe and it is easy to get taxi from the hotel. Thank you GM, Mr. Hassan Fahmy and his team for making our stay in Luxor a pleasant one.”

“This hotel is in a very nice central position in Luxor. Near restaurants, pubs, police station. Safe place and friendly staff. Good for singles, couples and falmilies. There are two swiming pools (one for children).”

“it is very nice and good view hotel, big room and balcony, proving good taste breakfast.”

“This resort has beautiful landscaping and very clean modern rooms. A relaxing place to stay with kids. We enjoyed the pools, restaurants and convenient location. Concierge was helpful and called reputable taxi drivers for us. The staff let us know the taxi fares to the sites( Valley of the Kings, Tomb of the Nobles, temples) so we were able travel independently, which we love doing. There is a tour guide office on site if you prefer. Cleaning staff left us bottled water in the room, which was a nice touch. We were surprised that more tourists were not staying here since it is such a beautiful hotel and service was outstanding! This was a five star hotel experience and Luxor has a plethora of ancient Egyptian temples and tombs.”

“This time we had a problem getting a train out of luxor on planned day (go at 8am for same day AC tickets!) and staff kindly let us hang around pool while we sorted out our plans. Better yet was the kindness of the staff. All in all, they helped us so much while we were there, planning our day trips and give advice about how to move around. Sure, it's an older family establishment and the restaurant and pool aren't too contemporary (and to be honest though they are trying breakfast misses the mark), but its a budget stay in a good location with willing staff and everything you will need while you are in Luxor (AC, a good shower, a nile view from the roof, and a place to hide out from the relentless touts ;)”

“It was amazing! The value is unbelievable. Very clean hotel and super friendly. Food is great. They literary grow their own vegetables on the bank of the Nile river and harvest it every day. Free breakfast buffets offered delicious food and dinner buffets cost only $12. There are Italian, French, Buffet restaurants and a bar that also serves food. Staff are very personable and helpful. Pools are nice and clean. The big pool with slides is very good for the children. There is another one that is heated in the winter months doesn't allow children - which is a plus for couples. All pools have bars. The SPA is very affordable as well. 2 hour massage with steam room and facial was only $50. You also can do your nails done and get a haircut at the Salon. Taxis are only 2 min call away. Drive to the downtown of Luxor (Luxor Temple) takes only 10 min. Free of charge shuttle to the city. Hotel has a fixed price for taxis to take you to an excursion, which is half of the street price! Book it!”

“Had an exceptional stay at the Steigenberger Nile Palace. The location is good, only a 15 mins walk to the Luxor temple or a 5 mins cab ride to the Karnak Temple. The reception was courteous and warm. There was a bit of confusion regarding the reservation leading to a delay of 30 mins in check in, however the management more than made it up for us by offering us a complimentary upgrade to the Nile View rooms. The view from the room was breathtaking, our advise is to pay a bit more and book these rooms. The buffet breakfast at the Nubian is a sumptuous spread and we enjoyed it. We also had a nice dinner at the Nubian restaurant. The service was impeccable and very attentive. The hotel has quite a few restaurants to cater for every taste and two quaint bars. The hotel has a nice river front from where we were picked up by our felucca in the evening for a sail in the Nile. Overall, a memorable stay. Only negatives is the empty mini-bar and no shoe shine strips in the room, you need them both after walking the dusty Valley of Kings. Wish you a pleasant stay.”

“I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel as the rooms are very cosy and the staff make you feel as if you are part of the family. Its in an incredibly safe area and it has a great vibe. You can take a boat across the Nile to Luxor central and its a quick trip with great views. The view from the roof of the Hotel of The Valley of the Kings is exceptional as well! they have beer and all your meals are cooked fresh. Beautiful place to stay! Darren, Australia”

“This is a wonderful hotel, and excellent value for money. Perfect location overlooking the Nile. Located on the west bank, 100m from the ferry (LE1 per ride),close to eating places and shops. you can walk everywhere. The hotel is clean and in good condition. Lovely swimming pool. Great breakfast and food. The owner Mohamed is friendly and helpful, and his sons are the same. This was a wonderful stay of three days.”

“The facilities were fantastic and the staff was excellent. The only issue we had was the location. If we wanted to go anywhere, we had to have the staff call a taxi or tuktuk. It would have been nice to just walk out the door and get one when needed, but the location is set back away from main roads. It makes for quiet nights, but also makes it inconvenient for other things. Overall, the apartments were perfect for the price. Thanks!”

“Very nice stay in this hotel on West Bank, more peaceful than East bank, but very clode to publif transportation to cross the Nile, 5 minutes walking only. Nice garden, good food, vegetarian are welcomed. Rooms are simple, but cleaned Staff is frendly, feeling like in a familly”

“Would recommend. . The staff goes beyond expectations”

“We stayed only 2 days but we felt like at home. We had a nice concert with a amazing dinner. Thank you so much”

“If you want to feel like home in Luxor , this is a great choice . The balcony of guest house can see the Nile river view.”

“Excellent location (close to ferry landing, shops and restaurants), spotless and comfortable rooms, quiet neighborhood, helpful and friendly staff.”

“Pros - Room was so spacious, bed was super comfortable, had a balcony so smoking was easy, view was amazing (in the morning it overlooks the hot air balloon in the distance), the owner and hotel manager was so friendly and really made u feel very welcomed. Breakfast on the roof was very basic but done with so much care. Would request instead for the ala carte food as the owner used to be a chef and it was really good. Had a heated outdoor pool so was great! Really cheap place for such value. Cons - Very far off from the central area as it was on the other side of the bank, had to take a boat and a taxi to get to the hotel. Pretty much a dead town on the side of the hotel so kinda not much to do at night but to hang at the rooftop. Very good for those looking for a quieter place.”

“If you want to feel like home in Luxor , this is a great choice . The balcony of guest house can see the Nile river view.”

Thanks!”

Book it!”
