The property is set on what feels like the most beautiful 22 hectares in the world right in the middle of the most lush and gorgeous green jungle backdrop with volcanoes all around. It has the best spa in Indonesia which is very good value for money; the food at the restaurant was the best we have had in Indonesia; the staff were extremely attentive and helpful (especially in organising trips to Borobudur and trekking in the area); and the rooms/villas were gorgeous with luxurious authentic javanese decor. There can be no complaints about the hotel as it is perfect!

I had great stay in Grand Artos Aerowisata. Its located above the mall, very convenient. The hotel is quite new, modern and comfortable. I think it's the best hotel in Magelang. Definitely will stay again in the future !

The Hotel consists of rooms located in a hilly landmark. It is more like resorts compare to other Hotel that I have been stayed at Magelang. Definitely the best Hotel in Magelang with friendly and professional staffs. There is an amusement park next to Hotel complex which one of tourists attraction at Magelang city.

Atria Hotel in Borobudur, Magelang, Indonesia should be a 5-star rating. This hotel opened in 2014 and sits just at the edge of town. Therefore, nothing is within walking distance, but the staff can call a taxi or you can hire a driver for the day - I would highly recommend this. The Borobudur Temple is not far, but you need a ride. Highly recommend renting an umbrella while you are there! As I said, this is a 5-star hotel and it is new. Everything is great! I must warn you that the breakfast was delivered to our room and setup - there was soo much food, we could not eat 1/3 of it! Serious.

Our stay at the Villa Borobudur was the capstone to an extended trip of a lifetime through Southeast Asia. The design of the facility reflects traditional Javanese architecture and is centered on the ancient Buddhist Temple Borobudur located in the valley below. We expected the views to be superlative but what was unexpectedly wonderful was the food. The all Indonesian menu provides a perfect way enjoy the environment and experience Java. Each guest selects from a diverse menu of local dishes which are then prepared fresh daily from local sources including the villa grounds and fields using mostly organic farming practices. The quality of the preparation and presentation is world class literally the best Indonesian food I have ever experienced. Almost nightly entertainments, provided in beautiful open air communal rooms' are drawn from the local community and are culturally appropriate to the setting. The staff was continually attentive but not intrusively so, well versed in English and simply a joy to be around. The Villa Borobudur is thoughtfully and responsibly well run in every aspect. Our stay there could not have been more pleasant. We dream of returning again some day.

The rooms are Indonesian wood buildings that take you back 100 years. Very nice. No bugs. Clean. AirCon worked GREAT. The staff was the best we have encountered in Indonesia, and we LIVE here. The food was excellent. Borobudur is 5 minutes away. The staff arranged damn tour of the temple. They arranged a driver and van to pick us up at the airport and take us back. He also took us to the Hindu temple, too. Great driver! If you want to visit Borobudur and have good experience, this is the place.

I cannot say enough about what a great experience I have had at Rumah Dharma each time I have been there, and my most recent visit was no exception. This was my sixth time staying there. It has gotten bigger, but never lost the charm. The peaceful serenity is still the big draw, as it still feels secluded and so relaxing. The scenery is stunning and it’s closeness to Borobudur make it the perfect location (its so close to such a tourism site, but you feel so far removed from the hustle and bustle..... almost like you are just staying in your relatives village). The staff took care of everything we could want and more. I was traveling with my dad and his wife, and it was their first time in Indonesia (I have lived here for 7 years) and wanted them to have the best experience possible. The wonderful staff took care of everything and then some. I would recommend this place highly and cannot wait to come back for another relaxing stay!!

it's a modern and clean hotel for a budget rate. The room was really nice and modern. very clean too. Parking is available on the hotel yard. breakfast was limited using a voucher with value. recommended for a short stay in Magelang town.

The hotel is very comfortably located just next to the entrance to Borobudur temple, which is the main reason we selected this hotel. We contacted them before our arrival and inquired about a pick up from Yogyakarta Airport. They were very helpful and even suggested that since we arrived in the morning, to take us with the car to see Prambanan temples and then later to go to the hotel. And this for a small addition fee. Everything worked out wonderful. The driver was very nice and we were able to see Prambanan, taking our time before going to the hotel. The following morning they helped us arrange a sunrise visit to Borobudur. You wake up at 04:30 and they take you with a car to the special sunrise entrance. It is highly recommended as it is a unique experience to see this beautiful temple during sunrise. I highly recommend to stay at a hotel like Watu Agung and not in Yogyakarta. It is a huge advantage to be so close to the temple. The rooms in the hotel were small but still comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend Watu Agung Guest House.

During my stay the hot water is not working, i choose room number 1 there is the best view to see borobudur temple with merapi merbabu mountain as the background. The swimming pool edges are sharp, dangerous for children, please follow up. Parking is too far, but still need more spaces. unfortunately a tower blocked the borobudur view from restaurant. This is a good place to find serenity.

Nice and cheap hotel close to the location of the Borobudur temple. The location little bit inside in the shophouse (ruko) area. Know this location from Maps and the rating is pretty good. Parking in front of the hotel in a row of shop houses but it is safe because there is a hotel and shophouse security. If you traveling with family, take 2 rooms with connecting door. If you want to have a view, take a room with a higher class. Even though it's in a shop house complex, but the hotel is comfortable and clean.

The guest house is a challenge to find. Taxi drivers even have to ask locals the whereabouts of this place. However, it is located about a mile from the temple. For those who want to save, you can take the Damri bus to Borobudur (not Magelang) from the airport at 80,000 rupiah one way. Once you reach the bus station in Borobudur, either you walk a mile or take a ojek about 3,000 rupiah to the guest house. This guest house is made up of huts, like chalets, low ceiling height and have basic necessities like hot shower, toiletries. At night, you cannot venture out because there is no where you can go. No shops or eateries, totally dead and dark by nightfall. If you take a trip to visit the Borobudur, Budi the helpful staff who tripled as a check in staff, cook and guide, will take you on his motorbike at 5am to Manohara Hotel where you pay 380,000 rupiah for the entrance fee to see the sunrise. Although the price is steep, once you are in Yogya, visit it for once in a life time. Special thanks to Budi who can speak English and provide you with any tour information that you may want.

This hotel in the center of Magelang City. Its near with old bus station and also near with Shopping center. Facility complete including Big Swimming Pool. Staff friendly. Only this hotel doesnt have elevator. So if you get room in the 2nd floor you need to use stairs. Quite difficult for old people. Have to deal with them to ask for 1st floor room.

I think this hotel should be rated 3 or maybe 2. The poor neighbourhood might be the reason for 1 star rating. A few beggers around and people staring at us as white tourists. Overall I loved staying in Magelang. We found a small cafe within walking distance and had a cuppa and delicious roti cocolate (jaffle filled with nutella sort of). Wide pavements to walk on away from cars. We had dinner at an ECO park with only locals. It was quiet and nice outdoors close to yet another giant Bunyang tree with a fence around it.

Big bungalow, great view ! They drove us to borobudur temple at 4:30 in the morning with scooters, they were super nice ! The room is clean. We didn't always have hot water but it's often the case in java... We definitely recommend this place !

The location is quite close to the Borobudur temple if you plan to visit the temple. The Hotel is clean, comfort but quite remote from the main city. The closest town is Magelang which is about 15 mins drive. If you there, you should try the spa treatment or the massage. In term of improvement; 1. The management should take care of the maintenance around the place. 2. Foods served at the cafe can be improved. 3. Local guides or map.

For a price so low, it is an acceptable room with fan. Very near to the Borobudur temple, just about 1.2 km away walk. Beautiful sight to behold. You can take a bus from the city to arrive at a hotel at a fraction of what the pedicab will charge you. You get to savour the local delicacies around the area.

The place felt like a real secluded retreat with a mountain behind but close enough to Borobudur temple and lots of little villages. The house has a beautiful interior which feels authentic and comfortable. The outdoor spaces were delightful. I spent a lot of time relaxing and reading on the day beds in the warm sun. Gafar made me feel at home with his friendly welcome treats and his amazing escorting experience.

Value For money : well for 250K this is one of the best location to reach city attraction in magelang (Alun-alun, food) Location : city center, close to some good food place Facility : standard budget hotel one room with bathroom, the room cold be better if space arrangement for bathroom can be better. the bath room is to large for budget hotel. but for me the bed is really good. Cleanliness : well i need to ask the staff to replace the bedcover and all the cover for pillow don't like the damp felling from touching it. Staff : always open the main door for me simple but noticeable for me. when I ask my car to out from the little parking lot since the other car blockade around 4 car in the 3Am they quickly do that in 30 Minute good job Facilities : Well There is WiFi with minimum connection. I don't see the soap and the shampoo in my bathroom the other room i rent is have the soap and shampoo....

This hotel is a good value-for-money accommodation in Magelang. The room is well-maintained and the staff is really friendly and will greet you with all smiles. The breakfast we had was great with quite a lot of variety. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Magelang

This is truly a slice of heaven. You feel like family. The service is probably the best I've ever received. The food is incredible. Great breakfasts and amazing local tea. The staff are warm and generous and go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. They are sweet, kind, caring, and thoughtful. The surroundings are breathtaking. Fun extras like bananas to your room or fresh daily drinks. They arranged all of our transportation and guides for excursions in the area. The pool is beautiful. The grounds are stunning. I have nothing but absolute love for Villa Sumbig Indah!

The owner husband and wife are very nice. Kind owner, clean and comfortable room, nice breakfast, warm welcomed. As I was traveling alone (woman), I felt relieved very much when the wife and the son welcomed me. The owner arranged Borobudur sunrise tour and transportation for me. It was really nice and warm homestay. I traveled Indonesia for 26 days this time. Efata homestay is the best. I recommend and want to stay again.

Yudo and his team were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. They found us luck when many restaurants nearby were close for Ramadan and they organized very inexpensive motorcycle rides anywhere we wanted to go. Accommodations are basic but clean and cozy. Keep in mind that the homestay is a distance from the main town and not easily walkable but Yudo was more than helpful with transport.

Further away from ferry better cheaper hotel maybe expensive room ok run down old BUT NEXT DOOR TOWARDS FERRY HIRED MOTORBIKE 50000. A day kawah ingen worth a visit but take the good road google maps road horrendoust

On arrival we were greeted by a wonderfully enthusiastic receptionist, but after that she disappeared.The remaining staff were impartial at best. As we wanted to rent a scooter we were quoted double the price we have been given anywhere else in Indonesia, and when it arrived it had no petrol. Also the cleanliness left much to be desired. All in all the rooms were cheap and fine for one night if your heading there just for the Borobudur sunrise
