Malang hotels & places to stay

I really need to point this out that this is one of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed during my several times of travelling to Indonesia. I think the scenery (facing the mountain) is awesome and for those who are looking for peaceful or self time, I would strongly recommend the room with such scenery. My room of 7108 is nice and was well taken care. The food served with lot of varieties and friendly staff are everywhere. This is my first time being in Kota Batu, Malang and to be honest I have not heard about this place before I came here. I was suggested by my colleague to come here as I was on an employment gap before joining new company, and yes I was all by myself, alone! I was so thankful to 2 kind security staff namely Pak Jupri and Pak Dedik for guiding me on the routes to interesting places nearby and telling more about the city as I was confused why there is a city in a city. Thank you so much Pak, without Pak, my 3 nights stay could've been just in a room or the balcony.

Staying with my family in this hotel for few nights. Very nice property with fully equipped facility for a five stars resorts. Staffs are very humble and which is normal while you are in Indonesia. They were also very helpful and friendly. If you can explain more the facility guest can try during check in would be much useful. I feel less luxury when i entered the restaurant with very poor sound system compare to the grand and spacious restaurant size, they only have centralize sound system with active speakers which for me not acceptable for this level of hotel. At least you should set up decent brand that can distribute traditional music in all area of restaurant especially outside, this i believe can add atmosphere. The food quality is delicious however can be improved. Need to improve the speed of eggs station in the breakfast time, poor kitchen staff who worked there in the weekend time or busy time. Get your self better pan who can make omelette four-five pieces a time.. took ages to wait for eggs order due to long queuing. Try to think how to stop birds to enter the restaurant, I am sure you know how important to keep the food clean and hygiene. I saw in the breakfast time one bird flew and drop their feather all over the place meanwhile the buffet is underneath. Kids club should put on carpets on the floor due to chilly weather in Malang. Resort offer free transportation to several attraction such as Jatim Park 1 and 2, BNS, Museum Angkut. The room also size is huge but less facility and furniture, no flower in the room during arrival, good amenities selection, the bath tube shower handheld can't be use and the tube seem like leaking. No ironing in the room, no shoes make up facility, room slightly dark. My room is included for the rijsttafel but the funny thing was (you will be asked to manage everything by your self) not easy in how your are going to eat the food in your rooms, as the staff will say the food trolley will not be set up in the room. We really enjoyed our stay at this Harris Hotel. Superb quiet green location in the city. Very clean rooms and wonderful friendly staff. The best hotel in Malang for kids. Great value for money thru Agoda.

Location is very strategic. There's Matos and Transmart in the neighbourhood, just a minute walk. Everything is very good. Very recommended hotel in Malang.

Tugu Malang Hotel is the one and only best five star hotel in Malang town. When stepping my foot on the entrance I could feel Javanese feature with its traditional style. This five star hotel really is the representation of Indonesia's richness especially in terms of culture. This five star hotel offers its cultural heritage which made it very beautiful hotel especially for expatriate or foreign visitors like me.

The best thing is the facilities which are very complete; swimming pool outdoor, indoor, sport arena (basket, badminton, futsal, volleyball), library, karaoke, jacuzzi, sauna, etc, so much worth the price, be sure you have enough time to enjoy all the facilities. The location is also great, 5 minutes walk to jatim park 1, from there you can have shuttle to other jatim park group. Everything went well on our stay, good shower, hot water, clean and comfy bed, spacey room. So much recommended for family holiday.

BEST RESORTS IN MALANG ...STAY IN MALANG BEFORE GO TO MOUNT BROMO AND BACK TO SURABAYA TOWN

This is a great hotel. Clean and huge rooms, staff is also nice. The pool is a bit small but it was too chilly to swim when I was there anyway. Breakfast buffet is very decent, large choice of Asian/Indonesia cuisine, less western options but that's not really an issue. I think the best thing about this hotel other than the fact that it's really high class and comfortable is that it is in the same building as one of the largest malls in Malang. So if you want to shop or dine you don't event need to find a taxi (which BTW are impossible to find, what's up with that in Malang???). Anyway, awesome hotel, no complaints.

My husband said that this hotel was the best that we took during our trip in Malang and Batu. The food was expensive just as normal hotel expensive rate but it was delicious. One thing that I like that they provide a 3 bed in a spacious room and the price is unbelievably cheap. I got for 2 nights I Overall, I was satisfied with the facilities and the service and I definitely recommend Kampung Lumbung as a perfect stay for any body who wants to spend nights in Batu, East Java.

Me and my colleagues stayed here, everything was good. Porters were helpful and polite,very friendly staffs..great location in Malang very near to the Batu Secret Zooand Batu night spectacular..Room is lovely and clean surrounded by beautiful gardens. I really like my stay at Royal Orchid Garden hotel, wish we could have stayed longer.Definately come back here for my next visits. The hotel is an excellent choice if you wish to stay in Malang..

After spending 2 nights enjoying hill-side entertainment at Batu, we spent 1 night at Malang, City. A Bali style hotel with excellent Bali hospitality. Some customers might be disappointed by the location but we love it for the various food stall during night and it has distances from main road. Pool is great, various good breakfast, and it does have spacious clean room. Stairs could be annoying for elder. Will I come again? Yes. Will I recommend it to others? Yes.

Rated 5 star, it doesn't match the standards. When we arrived by taxi, no one would pick up our luggages to reception. No warm welcome provided. English is barely spoken and we had difficulties to be understood, except with one friendly lady working morning shifts. The landscape is magnificent and the chalets in the middle of the nature look fabulous. But the decoration and furniture are really basic inside, below the standards. The food is just above the average: quantity is preferred to quality. There are 3 pools (cold because we are on a hill) with magnificent views and an immense gymnasium to practice football, volley ball, basket ball, ping pong, fitness...for sport lovers. The best spots to visit around the area are Cando Rondo waterfalls and Cando Rais waterfalls, Wonosari Tea plantation, for breathtaking views and pictures.

One of the best budget hotel in Malang. The hotel itself is quite new, so the interior is still fresh. The room size is quite spacious. The great thing about the hotel is the breakfast. i'm amazed that the breakfast is served with big meal menu, beside the standard breakfast menu. The coupon for breakfast can be used for lunch or dinner, which give us flexibility.

This is exactly a new hotel. Just open early September 2015 (if i'm not mistaken). The Hotel building still have a lot of finishing to do as it is connected to a shopping mall (not yet complete) but the hotel itself seem too be completed. The room was comfortable and standard. The hotel have their outdoor swimming pool (haven't a chance to try), but look nice to me. The location a bit far away from New Malang Kota Train Station and very close to Old Malang Kota train station. This hotel have a Rooftop Lounge as well with nice view of Malang City. Will stay here again if i have a chance to visit Malang again.

We arrived at the evening, the checkin process was quick and efficient, the staff were very warm and polite, we received wedang jahe as a welcome drink which was great since it was raining and kinda cold that night. The family room we booked was quite unique due to its loft bedroom configuration, the kids love it. Its a lil bit less spacious than we would like but still big enough. The breakfast spread was good with many choices, tastewise for a 4 star hotel could be better I believe. The hotel itself kept in a good condition eventhough its starting to show its age. But overall it still one of the premiere hotel in Malang area. Highly recommended

kartika wijaya batu heritage hotel is over 110 years old, but that does not show except in the front architecture. the swimming pool is beautiful, and we used the tennis court every morning before breakfast. the food is absolutely top rate with european and asian dishes. the local, vietnamese and chinese sapi is a true treat for your tongue. kartika wijaya batu heritage hotel is a typical family hotel, very quiet. we rented a car with driver and guide and went to see the bromo-tengger-semeru national park with the candi poten in lauten pasir, the sea of sands. this was an experience 'never to be forgotten'. all in all, our stay at batu, malang and bromo-tengger-semuru is a above all experience of my life, and i travel a lot. the staff at kartika wijaya batu heritage hotel is worth a whole storyby themselves, extremely polite and nice, problemsdo not exist.

this is my second time stay in this hotel after a month from the first time, and still clean and value for money, favourite hotel in malang so far

this is my first time stayed at bw oj malang, that look a new hotel in town. so i book via agoda and get the best price include breakfast. so, when arrive and checking in they serve fast and easy. they gave me a highest floor at 11 level as my request. the room was spacious with twin single bed (120x200 bed size). my room is the best view, where city and mount view with a huge windows. the bad things was very noisy when the skyroom closed at midnite, because my room was under the kitchen. everything in this hotel is nice, good staff and good breakfast too. the pool in 3 floor is little and very cold, but the kiddos was fun. if you find for wasting the nite plz check to 12 floor, it's roof top sky room and they have pretty open lounge with great view. the internet access is available in the room and all public area in the hotel, but that's little bit slow. fasten in the lobby area.

nice place and ambience. the service and staff is very helpfull. some minus is the private pool in the cottage isnt heated enough so its getting cold at night. it would be best if the pool keep heated cz its really nice to soaked at night. and some room facing towards rubbish dump so its very inconvenience and smelly. hopefully the hotel can manage it well, so the guest will feel more relaxed in the premises.

Hotelnya luas banget, asri, sejuk dan pemandangannya bagus.. saat paling menyenangkan adalah ketika kita bisa sarapan pagi dipinggir kolam renang ditemani suara ayam yg berkokok. Lokasinya pun sangat strategis setiap saya menggunakan taksi online drivernya selalu tau hotel ini karena hotel ini sudah masuk ke lokasi di aplikasi dan juga hotel ini memang cukup terkenal. Yang paling saya suka staff nya semua ramah dan helpful juga lokasi yg sangat strategis dekat dengan tempat makan tempat wisata dan tinggal jalan kaki ke Brawijaya pusat oleh2 meski agak mahal kalau beli disini. Jangan lupa mampir ke kedai susu KUD yg lokasinya persis disebelah gang keluar hotel..sarapan di hotel ini juga cukup enak dan banyak variasi menu. Saya mau balik lagi ke hotel ini jika kembali ke Batu :)

I feel comfortable living here, not so crowded, located between malang dan batu, they have alternatif road to go to batu or malang, so we can avoid traffic jams, the menu breakfastnya batu.. breakfast menu options is not much and it was not really good, lets say if the range is 1-5 i only give 3 for it.. ;)

Amaris is a well-known budget hotel chain in Indonesia owned by Santika group, and this one in Malang is a good choice for short stay. The staffs were attentive, the rooms were good, clean, and the breakfast, served in buffet style with Indonesian cuisine, was very good with variety of choices: hot meals, dedicated chicken porridge & soto (soup) buffet, coffee, tea, juices, fruits, but only white bread with toaster, margarine, and butter. Omelette or poached eggs were also available on demand. The wi-fi was good enough with satellite TV reception. The beds and the bathroom were clean and comfortable, so no complaints at all for the sleep quality. The aircon was not really cool, although Malang itself has a pleasant climate so no problem. The only downside was that there was no non-smoking rooms (mixed), so expect tobacco smell when you arrive, although it was not really significant. The beds were only available as twins and the pool is only for kids. Oh, and one more thing, the location was good and near the city centre. My summary: This budget hotel was really straighforward and there were only minor downsides that didn't really matter for me. Definitely will stay again at this place. Room Tip: Choose rooms that are near the elevators, since some rooms are located on the backside of the building, which is rather far, and the elevators are only located near the front.

This 4-star hotel has a spacious lobby, which is connected with a swimming pool, hotel’s cafe and restaurant. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable, and have a balcony. Breakfast menu had a lot of choices and delicious. The hotel is located on the edge of the main road from outside Malang to the center of Malang, making it easy to get a taxi or public transportation. This hotel also provides a shuttle car to the airport. Next to the hotel was the branch office of Garuda Indonesia airlines, and also ATMs from several banks. The hotel also has several meeting rooms for meetings, weddings or other events. Wifi was ok. The disadvantage was, this hotel was not new anymore. So that the furniture and conditions of some parts of the room are outdated or damaged. Need repairs and renovations in several places, especially in hotel rooms.

Stayed for 3D/2N in late Okt. 2017 for a working holiday with my family and our entourage. Booked 3 rooms through Agoda for 990 each, as the hotel website prices are outrageously expensive. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful in upgrading one our Premiere room to the Royal Suite (don’t expect much in the Suite btw). Rooms were classy, clean and cozy. Bathrooms quite small with shower in bathtub. Every time we showered there would be puddles of water on the floor, as the glass covering the shower bathtub only goes halfway. As other reviewers mentioned, the AC is quite loud and cold. Other reviewers also complained about the loud street noise in certain rooms closest to the Main Street, which I can vouch fo also in the Royal Suite. Excellent breakfast, very tasty (especially the tempe) probably typical of a Malang breakfast at home I would guess. Large clean swimming pool, small fitness center, great terrace for sitting and relaxing. Parking quite limited as the hotel is in a central residential area. Overall on of the best boutique hotels in Malang with limited facilities.

The best location if you need to play around Jatim Park 1. The room is very large, in price with much lower than famous budgeted hotel in Malang. For your comparison, I can get Deluxe room, with larger 1.5x than room offered by budget hotel. But, don't hope to get much amenities.. Just standard amenities. Unfortunately, though this hotel has same management with Jatim Park, there is no discount voucher for guest entering Jatim Park.

Bad sanitary, lots of insect, and no breakfast during fasting season (breakfast served on 2 or 3 am in the morning). However the location is great and close to famous attractions.

The place is comfortable although it’s an old hotel The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable There is a cable tv, but the tv is an old tv so the picture is not so good The bathroom is very old and the first water that came out smells awful But the again its worth it Because the location is perfect, near every top food in Malang And the staffs are very friendly
