Apart from its world holy religious place, Mecca in general needs a lot of development with regard to proper roads & transport, public services, quality hotels, local discipline and attitude.

The main purpose of the visit to makkah is for religoius purpose and that experience is absolutly fantastic and there are no words to describe thr feelings of relious grandure.
Easy acces from the hotel to the Kabba is the most important and a very good shuttle bus service is important. Every visit to Makkah is a new experience and most fulfilling.

Mecca is a place to be. If I have the means, I will visit Mecca every single month of my life. The only thing is that they are too strict about their laws.
But when one remembers that the city receives millions of visitors daily, one will realise the need to apply the laws strictly.
We stayed in this hotel for a Umra trip, great hotel excellent service and friendly staff specially room service and reception is remarkable.

Simply it is the most sacred city on earth. It is disappointing that the behavior of the locals doesn't reflect the sacredness.
This is a holy city for Muslims for their religious pilgrimage. Every Muslim wishes to be here at least once in their lifetime.
it's better to go there in cold weather and low season, because if it crowded you will have hard time to do many things.
The Kaaba is located inside the Masjid al-Ḥarām (A.: المسجد الحرام, the "Sacred Mosque") in the center of Mecca (A.
: مكة Makkah). It is a cuboid-shape structure which is made of granite quarried from nearby hills. Standing upon a 25 cm (10 in) marble base that projects outwards about 35 cm (14 in). It is approximately 13.1 m (43 ft) high, with sides measuring 11.03 m (36.2 ft) by 12.86 m (42.2 ft). Inside the Kaaba, the floor is made of marble and limestone. The interior walls are clad with marble halfway to the roof. The marble is inset with Qur'anic inscriptions. The wall directly adjacent to the entrance of the Kaaba has six tablets inlaid with inscriptions. The top part of the walls are covered with a green cloth embroidered with gold Qur'anic verses. Caretakers anoint the marble cladding with scented oil used on the Black Stone outside. Three pillars stand inside the Kaaba, with a small altar set between one and the other two. Lamp-like objects (possible crucible censers) hang by a rope above the platform.
Mecca, known to the Muslim faithful as Umm al-Qura, the Mother of Cities, is the holiest place in the Islamic world.
It was here that Muhammad the Prophet (c. 570–632), the Messenger of God, the founder of the Muslim faith, was born in 570, and it is here within the Great Mosque that the Ka'aba, the most sacred shrine of Islam, awaits the Muslim pilgrim. Throughout the world, wherever they may be, all devout Muslims pray five times per day, each time bowing down to face Mecca. All able-bodied Muslims who have sufficient financial means and whose absence from their families would not create a hardship must undertake a pilgrimage, a hajj, to Mecca once in their lifetime during the Muslim month of Dhu-al-Hijah (the twelfth lunar month). Physically, Mecca is located about 45 miles east of the Red Sea port of Jedda, a city surrounded by the Sirat Mountains.
