Nagasaki hotels & places to stay

We stayed at Dormy Inn for 2 nights initially and then returned just under a week later for 1 more night before returning to Tokyo. The facilities provided at Dormy exceeded our expectations. Comfortable, clean and centrally located. Only 2-3 minutes from the tram lines that access all major points of interest and also only 2-3 minutes away from the pick up/ drop off point for the airport bus service. Nagasaki Station about 10 minutes away by tram. We needed assistance from the counter staff for printing documents and retrieving some lost items. in both cases they were fantastic. AND smokers are restricted to certain areas and are not evident in most of the hotel for us non-smokers. We had a most enjoyable stay at Dormy and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful city of Nagasaki. After 3 weeks in Japan, I put Nagasaki at the top of my list for favourite cities to visit.

I found out about this hotel from the Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) Concierge website map. I was looking for a hotel near the boat dock since we were on the morning cruise, and this one is the closest one -- literally across the street from the boat check-in office. On their English map, the hotel is actually listed as the "Montley Nagasaki," a distortion of the Japanese pronunciation of "Monterey". For those doing the Gunkanjima trip, the hotel couldn't be in a more convenient location. The front desk staff spoke limited but passable English. Very friendly and easy check-in and check-out. The hotel is located in the south of city right next to one of the tram stops, but it's only a 1,000 yen taxi trip from Nagasaki station if you don't want to wait for the trams. The Peace Park and Atom Bomb stuff is located in the north of the city not far away. Easy 10 - 15 minute cab ride or else you can take the tram with one transfer. TV just had Japanese stations, but the Internet was fast and reliable. The hotel's restaurant gets rave reviews, but there are also plenty of other eateries in the area so no worries about food. We ate at the Gusto Cafe across the street and the food was great. 24-hour convenience store is located right next door.

The hotel was great value and super conveniently located. There’s also onsite parking (1000yen a night until 12pm the following day). The deluxe room was super spacious by Japanese standards and the room was spotless. Very close to all the bars/restaurants/shopping district of Nagasaki and 1 min walk to the tram stop. Service was great too. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel in Nagasaki. The only downside is it is very noisy at night with the windows open, but wth the windows closed it’s barely noticeable and didn’t impact our sleep.

We were doing a self drive free and easy tour. The Hotel Forza is not listed on the GPS and we had to ask at a petrol station for additional instructions. Parking is about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Being located within the shopping area and business district of Nagasaki the hotel is generally fully booked. The staff was one of the best and extremely helpful in making our stay very comfortable. We received a upgrade and being on very top floor gave us an excellent view of Nagasaki. Nagasaki China town is also within a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The room was very clean and in like new condition. Excellent stay!

quite new hotel and very clean, room space is Okay, with good location, in front of tram(street car) stop, only several stops from Nagasaki station. There is a Family Mart convenience store next door... it is recommended hotel... there are so many Nagasaki Hotel but this one is group of Best Western Premier?

The hotel locate just across the street from Nagasaki JR station. It is also close to Bus terminal and tram station. So, travel around Nagasaki is convenient whether by walking or tram. The staffs are very kind and helpful. some of them can communicate in English quite well. The single room I stay is clean with comfy bed. The bathroom is clean and well equipped. The unfortunate point during this trip was I could not book the non-smoking room, so I have to stay in smoking rooms. If you are non smokers, you probably can imagine the unpleasant smell of smoking.

Pros: Super near to Nagasaki JR station and the city tram station. The room size is decent and was in fact bigger than rooms in other major cities in Japan. Staff speaks decent English and I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to Nagasaki!! Cons: The hotel is a bit old but well maintained.

We had a nice stay at the APA Hotel in Nagasaki. The people at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. Inside our room, even though the room was small, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom amenities were okay! All in all, we made a good choice staying the APA Hotel Nagasaki Ekimae!

We stayed in the Terrace Lodge and had a ground floor room which was huge. It had a private terrace with a hammock overlooking Nagasaki Port. There were two choices for breakfast, Japanese and Western. We later discovered that they were actually served in different restaurants. The western breakfast was served in the Terrace Lodge diner on site but the Japanese was served at the Uraraka restaurant which was a 10 min walk, over the bridge by the port and along the main road.....it was worth the walk - much better than the western option. The beach was nice and clean however on our second day there were diggers moving the sand around so we couldn't lay on the beach, I guess we travelled out of the Japanese holiday season so they were undertaking maintenance during our stay. This place would really benefit from a swimming pool to use when the beach is unavailable. We had a relaxing stay, the staff were polite and had good English despite the resort being aimed at a Japanese audience.

The hotel was much better than we had expected before arrival. We had earlier been afraid of the bed size as we booked for "semi-double" that we might have to share a small single bed for the night. It turned out the bed was double enough for two, fitted to Japanese tight room. The hotel was a short walk from Nagasaki station, only two tram stations. Shoikd walk to the hotel to avoid a cramped tram and climbing up walkway's stairs to the tram's station. It is nextbto Dejima's historical Dutch settlements and Youme shopping complex and sea terminal. Breakfast was not included but guesta could buy vouchers at the front desk for a nominal price about 3 dollars each. Room Wi-Fi was good and very fast with individual login for each room .

I stayed at Hotel New Nagasaki with my parents for three nights, and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, accommodating, and good at English. The location was very, very nice, right next to the Nagasaki JR station. Additionally, they had good restaurant recommendations. As soon as we arrived at this hotel, we had a great lunch course at a Japanese restaurant inside the hotel. And, every morning, we had breakfast with a beautiful view of Nagasaki on the 13th floor. Highly recommend this hotel!

- Easy access to the hotel from airport limousine bus (but you have to be careful since there is not pellican crossing in the city so you have to drag your bags across the pedestrian bridge to reach JR Nagasaki Station. Please find where the elevator is) - Easy to go anywhere since there are 2 streetscar line pass the station) - There is free shuttle bus from JR station to Mt. Inasa Ropeway Front Office (further information can be found at Information Center) - The breakfast is great - They have spacious bathroom and the best hairdryer (amongst the hotel I’ve stayed so far)

I stayed in APA hotel first time. Location, cleanliness, facility and service, everything good! But I feel a little expensive. Perhaps, every hotels in Nagasaki are expensive...

I cant find any thing wrong about this place. I have been traveling Japan for nearly a month and have stayed at so many hostels. This one by far the best. The staff were so polite but that's everywhere in Japan. The hostel is super clean and they make their bed, change clothes, slipper, etc everyday. They provide you everything. The location is just about 5 minute walk to the Chinatown. The price was quite affordable for a budget traveler like I am. So yes, I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Nagasaki again

pros -- The location of this hostel is no more than 5 minutes south of Nagasaki station, and even closer to the nearest tram station. It is also very close to the Nagasaki Port terminal if traveling to nearby islands. The dorm rooms have futon style beds with individual curtains, lamp, chargers, and safety deposit box, so you can feel relatively safe with your belongings. The common lounge area is set-up in a way that you will have to talk to other travelers, so during my one-night stay, I met some great people, both overseas and domestic travelers. The Japanese staff also speak good enough English, and are pretty helpful. Cons -- The only con is that there is only 1 shower per dorm room (in a room of up to 10 people). So if it's packed, you'll be waiting a while to take a shower. Overall, it's a great hostel with a nice vibe. They also provide free coffee, tea, bread and jam for breakfast.

Hotel was great experience, rooms were clean and nice and the japanese style breakfast was so delicious yet cheap! Only down side was the location for us: if you're only going to visit Nagasaki city, I wouldn't recomment booking this hotel 'cause it takes 40-60 minutes by train. On the other hand it was nice to see more of the country side. We had Japan rail passes so we got travel 'free' so it was no big deal. For Finnish travellers: Hotel description in Finnish is very misleading about location!

Wonderful stay at Casa Blanca. The location is excellent for sightseeing. Dejima and Chinatown are right beside it, the Dutch slope and Seaside Park are 15 minutes away, and the tram is just around the corner if your destination is Glover Gardens/Oura Cathedral or Atomic a Bomb Museum/Peace Park. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and you are also able to cook your own meals if you prefer. The only slight inconvenience I found was the lack of an elevator (my room was on the 5th floor), since I had a big suitcase. I ended up just taking the things I need for the night upstairs while leaving my bag in the luggage storage area. Not a big deal. I would come back if I visit Nagasaki again. Also, they offer discounted tickets to the Nagasaki ropeway, so ask the staff about it if you're planning to go there anyway.

The Nagasaki Nisshokan Hotel is essentially a large ryokan that is set high on a hillside overlooking Nagasaki Harbour. Nagasaki is said to have one of the world's most beautiful night city views, and the views from the hotel did not disappoint. I booked it because of its unbelievable value for two, including a full buffet breakfast, and free shuttle buses to and from Nagasaki Railway Station. The room had tatami mats, three double futon beds, and a sunken spa bath. The hotel itself has separate large spa s for men and women. The staff spoke escellent English, and were very helpful and informative. I would recommend the hotel as one of the best value hotels I have experienced in my many visits to Japan, and is of exceptional value. I would have no hesitation in staying again on my next visit to Nagasaki, and would recommend the hotel without any reservation whatsoever.

Great location! Literally 30 seconds away from the bus terminal that will take you to the airport and other destinations. It is also 5 minutes away from the nearest tram station and JR station. Front staffs were kind and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Although this hotel is a bit old, but don't worry facilities were well-maintained, and the room itself was HUGE by Japanese hotel standards. One thing that caught my attention perhaps was just the air conditioning. Somehow I feel that it was a little bit too strong (even when you put to "low"). Despite that, it was overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you Hotel Orion Nagasaki! I'll definitely recommend to anyone visiting Nagasaki.

It is right behind the China Town and one block from the Nagasaki shopping street, many local restaurants around. The room was decent and spacious. We had a harbour view and got lucky to watch the firework on the sofa in the room.

Very nice modern hotel located in small and very peaceful town. The Kikitsu station is 4min walk away. The room is reasonable size (for Japanese standards). One special amnety they have in the room is a foot massager, quite useful to massage your legs after a day walking around Nagasaki prefecture. The staff are friendly even though they are not quite proficient in English. Guess you’ve to learn more Japanese. But not much of a problem when you’ve google translate. Another facility they provide for free is the washing machines and driers (detergents included). Nice touch.

This is a special in the sense that it was formerly a ryokan (Japanese ryokan), hence you will see the same layout as you would see in a ryokan. We had a very big tatami room (which was used for a banquet I believe) for just 3 of us. There weren’t that many guests that night, so only few people were there in a very large building. It was a bit creepy but it was also a unique experience. The guesthouse is located at a fishing port which is far from the city centre of Nagasaki, but still accessible by bus. If you’re looking forward to see the country side of Japan this would be a good choice. However, there aren’t that many things to do in the vicinity. Cleanliness is well kept in general but some facilities look old and dated. We saw two big spiders and it was terrifying.

Perched exclusively on a hill slope the hotel offers excellent City view. Offers convenient shuttle service to Nagasaki Station. Very polite and friendly staffs. Spacious room for triple occupation with high quality bedding, linens and toiletries. Breakfast spread was good although limited in choice. Overall an excellent hotel perfectly manned by an excellent crew. Thanks for making our stay super enjoyable.

Great, need to come again. The view of downtown Nagasaki at night and during the day was awesome and gave us some great pictures.

we needed a place to stay in nagasaki for the night and found chisun grand nagasaki hotel online via agoda. when we got of our tram at gotomachi stop, it took about two minutes to get to the hotel. there was a lovely big sign pointing it out and i was really happy because the place looked great. checking in was a breeze. one of the staff spoke a little bit of english, but he didn't really need to, as it was very straightforward checking in. the hotel is surrounded by many places to eat and only a 20 minute walk from the "spectacles bridge" and about 40 minute (if that) from a major shrine/temple area. or you can catch the tram and it is really quick. the hotel is also really close to the nagasaki train/bus/tram station. overall, a fantastic place to stay.

Very good and convient location. Staffs were friendly and helpful at the front desk and every corner. The housekeepers make the room tidy .clean and freshable. Will come again and highly recommend to all whose will visit Nagasaki.

It's located near to Nagasaki station & bus station; about 5 mins walk. The breakfast in the hotel (500¥ per pax) is nice & worth the money. The staff at the counter are friendly & professional; they have your room key ready once you step in. The beds in our room is big & comfortable. The room is very clean with free wifi. The toilet is small but very clean; & even has a bottle of air refresher. Although there's a kettle in the room, the lobby has a drinking water tank so we could fill up our empty bottle before we start our journey. We will definitely come back to stay here when we visit Nagasaki again.

this was my 4th trip to nagasaki and my first at Victoria inn, I really like the location close to all the areas where in needed to go. has the bus/trolly station right in front of hotel so no problem with transportation.

I really liked this hostel. The staff was INCREDIBLY friendly. They layout was great. Someone handmade these awesome wooden mini-rooms. There was room for my luggage in my bed area, plus there were lockers for valuables and you can lock any big bags on a rack outside the dorms if needed. My dormitory bed, bathroom, shower, and kitchen were all on the same floor. It was super clean and comfortable. It's a nice, 15 minute walk to the Peace Memorial Park and museum, and also is only blocks away from the local street car so you can take that if you're not feeling up to the walk/going somewhere further. I'd stay there again if I ever head back to Nagasaki!
