The resort was even better than what we had expected from the online pictures. We had a beach front suite that was spacious, extremely clean, thought out in all the details. Our patio had two private beach beds, and direct access to the beach, just one or two steps ahead. The beach in front of the hotel is one of the best pieces of Ngapali beach. From this resort you also have the possibility to do a Short walk (just a few mins) down the beach to the local restaurants for bbq food (mostly fresh fish) and drinks (especially coconut juice and beers). The hotel’s Pool is very scenic, but mostly usable for fun, and not for swimming. The staff was courteous, with the exception of maybe just a couple of them: yet everyone, as most other places in Myanmar, bedazzled you with their smiles. Along the beach there were numerous outdoor showers you could use after bathing In the ocean..... Also they had a great complimentary service from and to the airport! Overall we were very satisfied with the resort and the service! I would definitely suggest it to anyone who is looking for a luxurious place in Ngapali beach, but doesn’t want to place their money in the most expensive hotel!

Stay was enjoyable as expected, because it was our second visit to this hotel in a little over a year, although prices had climbed by 100USD per night from the previous year- very annoying, given we paid the same per night for the top 5 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur, but no doubt sign of increasing demand. First row sea view is best if you're only staying a few nights as most will be. Local restaurants can be far cheaper with fresh sea food, now located on the beach within minutes. Main coastal (only) Road from airport was being upgraded/widened during our stay so quite dusty but this should be finished before the next season. We have been visiting Ngapali for over 10 years and changes are becoming rapid with more hotels and tourists, although still a beautiful and peaceful place for a good rest. If you want to get away from the madness of Thai commercial beaches, or being pestered on the beach in Bali, this is the place to be.

Ngapali beach is one big resort with only few 'budget' accomodations. After one night in such a place we decided to take our changes in the Bayview (which is way above our budget, but there is just no good alternative). We stayed 4 nights in an upstairs room with all the benefits you may expect from a European owned hotel. The German manager, and his right hand are relaxed and they seemed to work very closely with the Myanmar staff. One evening I saw the manager having a few drinks with the guys from the hotel in their local hang out. I am sensetive to those things. You never can tell, but as it appeared to me, it felt like: 'we are in this all together'. He is working at the front desk and is not only a funny guy, he speaks very well English (teaches this during rainy season at the staff) and did his utmost for us when we had some hassle over flight tickets. He arranged everything. This guy is very important for Bayview we think. The breakfast is good, not outstanding, but real good coffee and some delicious pastries, cheese and dark bread! The Sunset bar is affordable, 5$ for a cocktail that comes with a free fantastic sunrise and set view. The food is expensive, but looked delicious. The pool is awsome, really inviting! The free bikes added value. The only negative point has nothing to do with the hotel but with its guest. There are some strange people out there. We saw a few of them staying at the Bayview. People with no manners what so ever. We were a few times so ashamed. People who bark at the staff, take over the egg station, throw away their freshly cooked eggs because the cook didn't do it the way they want it. Etc etc. All together, certainly compared to all the other luxorious resorts/hotels ( and we checked them all), this is the best option for a luxorious stay at the beach. And the cheapest as well

This hotel and Ngapali Beach has to be on your bucket list. I strongly recommend to splurge on a beach front villa as it has direct beach access and views and also your own private pool. This would have to be the best holiday that we have had, and we have visited many Asian beaches in the past. Ngapali Beach is going through a construction boom with many more hotels and resorts under construction so my recommendation is to visit within in the next couple of years before this hidden secrete becomes common knowledge and is inundated with thousands of visitors. The hotel is very private and exclusive and the Staff and facilities are amazing, so treat yourself to a holiday of a life time at Ngapali Bay Villas and Spa.

What else can I say that that this is the hotel where you have to stay when you are going to Ngapali! I came to the hotel and in the first seconds after arriving I already felt overwelmed by the beautiful view from the lobby to the ocean right at sunset, coming along with a very warm welcome and super friendly employees! During my stay I enjoyed every second at the hotel and at the beach. The rooms are realy nice, the staff is wonderful, the service is perfect and the beach is what you dream of..... Whenever I will come back to Ngapali I will be a guest at this hotel again and already look forward to expirriencing that great hospitality of Amata Resort & Spa Ngapali Beach. Thank you so much for the wonderful days!

Possibly the nicest hotel in Ngapali. Beautiful rooms, pool and facilities. The beach area is beautiful and the staff were very kind. Would definitely recommend staying at the Art of Sand.

Sandoway, blew me away. It was our second choice having seen it rated on Trip Advisor after Amazing Ngapali, but after our exp at Amazing Bagan glad we went for this- lucky as Amazing Ngapali had no reservations! Sandoway is about 8km from the airport so at least a 15-20min drive in the slow bus. But worth it. Superbly set out, with beach cottages set out in a grid across the grounds. The sea was warm! The main lobby has not been set as the main piece like most hotels but the bar / restaurant is the show piece overlooking the beach. The beach is wonderful great views, warm and the sand is smooth, you can walk for miles. The food is great, breakfast is of high class, and the main meals and desserts really show the class of Sandoway. The pool is wonderful overlooking the beach with a bar / library allowing you look relax. There is a pharmacy across the road if you happen to fall ill. The beach cottages are big, huge bathroom, great shower, and the upstairs level has the beat and a chill out area to relax. Well made and well laid out cottage, with a front chill out area overlooking the beach. All in all great experience, and an amazing place to relax. All i have to say is, you'd never have know, Myanmar has beaches this good.

We stayed here Nov 2013 and thought it was outstanding. It is well-maintained with beautiful grounds, pool, bar, and beach area. We thought it was the best location on Ngapali Beach, as it was all sandy where other parts were rocky or too near the fishing village. The other hotels were crowded, where we felt at times like we had this place to ourselves. We didn't use the upstairs part of the villa because it was not air conditioned, but the downstairs was very luxurious with an outdoor shower, large, comfy bed, very spacious and well looked-after. The staff was very helpful. We noticed also the other hotels on the beach had issues with glass lightbulbs washed up on the sand from the squid boats, but we saw a staff member from Jade Marina picking up garbage at the beach in front of the hotel. We definitely had the prime spot on the beach. As we were trying to travel responsibly, we were happy to find that the place is owned by a local winery whose wine we had tasted earlier in the trip. The food was excellent with a big spread every morning including omelettes one day. We liked the pool bar as well. The food is more expensive than you'd find at the nearby beach huts, but it was definitely good. We were very impressed by the friendly staff.

We had a large ground floor room with wonderful views of the gardens. The perfect way to unwind from days of travelling around Myanmar. YCL is set back from the main road so you are largely protected from noise interference but being Myanmar there is always something going on ! The staff were very helpful & their English was amongst the best we encountered on our travels in Myanmar which is not to be under estimated. The food at the hotel was pretty good too though I would recommend using the two local beach restaurants (we preferred Ngapali Palace ) to share the love. The beach at YCL is very very quiet there being only YCL and one other hotel (Hotel Ace) - if available we would return to YCL. They have rooms overlooking the beach but I would not advise booking these as there is no privacy and they are situated next to kitchen / restaurant.

We are here for our honeymoon vacation. We felt ‘wow’ feeling due to hotel provided early check-in and late check-out, honeymoon cake, a bottle of wine and spa as a honeymoon package during our 3D2N stay. Staffs are friendly, manager of the hotel sent us away on our last day. Our cottage room decorated very lovely by flowers and towel swans. Swimming pool is facing the beach, able to enjoy sunset in the swimming pool. Recommended and definitely will be staying here again if to go Ngapali beach.

My husband and I stayed at the Ngapali Paradise Hotel on 27 January 2019 for four nights. We stayed in a full-seaview bungalow No. 005 on the beach. The room was spacious, bright and clean, with a veranda. Breakfast is buffet breakfast, and caters more Asian food with fried rice and fried noodles everyday. Western food is limited. Wifi is extremely poor. Eddie, the General Manager was very accommodating and helpful.

This is the best budget option in Ngapali! The bungalows are cozy and clean. The location is right on the beach. There are loungers, inner tubes and bikes free of charge. The staff is amazing. The restaurant serves delicious food at great prices. There is a plentiful breakfast full of options. Real coffee. The beach is quiet and has seaside massage huts , and a few other small restaurants. I had a wonderful time. I will surely be back.

Fantastic place for the money. By far the best beach we saw in ngapali. The food was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good pool and great facilities. The best E-bike i used in all myanmar , I would highly recommend you rent one and explore around. We stayed in a few places and this was the best overall by a long way.

Among all the resorts in Ngapali (I'd say there are about a dozen) the Pleasant View Resort has the best location since it is almost at the south end of the beach. So you are rather close to the small village but there is still one more resort hotel that separates you from the morning prayers around 5 in the AM. The hotel itself is absolutely wonderful and the rooms offer almost every comfort you need, the only thing we missed - as by then we kind of got used to it in Burma - was a kettle and coffee in the room. But instead at least we had a Thermos and tea. Our room was on the ground floor of a "Garden View" type villa but nevertheless we had a perfect view onto the ocean. Great local seafood restaurants are less then 5 minutes away, both on the beach as well as behind the hotel on the road. Minibar and services such as massage or boat rental are of course more expensive than if organized locally but still not outrageously expensive. For those who cannot relax without checking email the hotel even has wifi available near the reception area.

I am the first review as this hotel has recently opened. What can I say ? There is nothing you can complain about! The hotel is new and very clean, my room and my bathromm were big and very clean. The bed was very good (my best sleep in Myanmar )and the sheets clean. The AC works very well, You' ve got hot showers. The room is cleaned every day . Breakfast is included and here also it was the best I had in Myanmar and it was very big : local food coming from the market ( their sticky rice was amazing), differents breads, very good pastries, egg, juice, tea/coffee. You can have bicycle for free. There is a beach 2 minutes walking but with the bicycle you can reach an amazing beach (25min). But the most amazing was Moe and her staff. All these guys are so smiling, kind, helpful and pleasant. Everything is done to make your stay perfect. This place is just heaven after a big trip in Myanmar when you need to rest and get some good time. Thank you for everything Moe: I spent an amazing moment at Villager Lodge and will never forget it! My best stay in Myanmar!

If you haven't been to Ngapali Beach, Myanmar, you should definitely go. It's beautiful and not as touristy as many beach destinations and the Burmese are extremely thoughtful and gracious. And if you're a value-conscious traveler like we are, you'll love the Rivertop Lodge. The rates were substantially less than those resorts located directly on the beach, but it's only a 1 minute walk to the beach from the Rivertop Lodge and its facilities are immaculate. The staff is very helpful and friendly, there's a beautiful pool, and the on-site restaurant serves delicious authentic Burmese/Rakhine cuisine, as well as some of our American favorites. The concierge was extremely helpful and booked two of the best snorkeling trips we've ever been on. The listing said the Rivertop Lodge was a 3-star but it was actually more like a 4- to 4.5-star resort. We loved it! When we return to Ngapali Beach we will definitely be staying at the Rivertop Lodge.

The hotel is literally 500m from Thandwe Airport on the north part of Ngapali Beach (actually its not called Ngapali Beach but Thandwe) - we were not disturbed by any noise. There are less hotels at this part of the beach as it is more rocky, however at Merciel they have a private beach for its guests, along with sun beds, swimming pool and a pool bar! And it's the best place to watch the sunset. We had a double bed room without sea view, which was great, exactly as shown in the pictures. The staff are very polite and speaks ok English. The breakfast is amazing, with a mix of western (eggs, salad, musli, croissants, pancakes etc) and Myanmar dishes (noodles, soup, fried rice, fresh fruit etc). Also the dinners are very good, though a bit more expensive than if you eat at local restaurants. You can borrow bikes, hire a rickshaw or taxi to go around the beach and surrounding villages. I would highly recommend this place.

If you are coming to stay at Amara Ocean Resort in order to be on the beach and romantic you will never be disappointed. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our honeymoon trip of 10 days in Myanmar and had a marvelous experience at Ngapali. Amara Resort has private beach away from crowded beach area and bonus each room has their own beach chairs. They upgraded us to the most beautiful bungalow (Beach - Front) and arranged a nice room with tasty cake to surprise us. These are amazing, simply amazing. As expected the room is clean, the ground is well kept. The pool is great - big, fun and great views of the ocean. We used the free bicycles to ride into town, but again, after traveling through Myanmar we had enough of exploring and truly enjoyed the resort. Hotel provides wonderful breakfast buffet and especially the homemade banana cake. Staffs are caring and very helpful. They helped us to book domestic flight tickets as we couldn't book them online. Only drawback is the restaurant on the premises, perhaps the most expensive but not professional with service and menu. Poor staff training and management. Appetizers were served after the main food and they forgot about our bottle of wine. We had to ask for serving wine at least 3 times while all the staffs were laughing and having fun with each other. It was a bit disappointing.

I stayed at WEStay for six days. This hostel is affordable as most other accommodation In Ngapali Beach caters for high end resorts and people who have a big budget. The rooms are clean and beds very comfortable with mosquito nets. The showers are lovely with good pressure and hot water. After a few months of dormitories I chose to stay in a private room as a treat and also because the price here is cheap for the area. The dorm rooms were very nice too and I would be happy to stay one. There is a nice balcony to relax on and you can use / rent yoga mats. They have water refill and little extras such as coconut oil and Myanmar cigarettes. The staff are very helpful and I think they are doing a great job for being one if not the first hostels in this area. Breakfast is also good. Ngapali Beach is beautiful and if you want to relax this is perfect place. I think I’m a few years time this area will be very different. Ngapali Beach area itself is more expensive than the rest of Myanmar but if you plan to laze your days on beach it’s worth it!

-very nice hotel -nicest part of the beach -the residence is a part of Sandoway beach resort which is nearby (5 minutes walk) -the residence is located directly at beachfront -breakfast is in the Sandoway beach resort; you can order breakfast also to the residence (room service reservation one day/evening before) -ATM next to the hotel (the only one in Ngapali) -a lot of restaurants and some small shops on the street -large rooms, turn down service, large bed and bathroom (separate toilet and shower) and balcony/ terrace -no TV in room; the resort has a own cinema -you geht your own sunlounger and umbrella, beach towels in rooms available -front office staff will organize also flights and Shuttle oder taxi to the airport -we only stayed in this Hotel but wie think it is the best one with the nicest beach part -there are no cheap hotels available in this Arena so it is the best value for money

The hoyel is very clean, cheap and staff are so friendly. It takes only 3 min to beach. I would like to recommend it as the good one for travellers who want to save money.

Stayed there for 3 nights, and would definitely do it again! Very well located at the north of the beach, so very quiet. Cheapest bungalows are fairly small and dated, but very functional. Lovely seating area outside of each bungalow, as well as places to hang towels and bathing suits, hose outside each bungalow to wash the sand off your feet. Beach towels are provided, new ones every day. All bungalows have a beautiful view of the beach. No safe in the bungalows though. Breakfast is served on the terrace outside in front of the beach, good choice of food. Food is also served all day at your request, they even served us at our sun beds on the beach. Cocktails are cheap too. Hotel can arrange boat trips too, to go fishing, visit the fishermen village, and snorkelling. Staff's English is quite poor, but they are friendly. Internet is very slow though, or not working at all at times. When we were there, on the second day the Internet lines to the entire village were cut off for 2 days, so if you are in desperate need of Internet then Ngapali is probably not the best place. However if you want a beautiful quiet beach, then you are in for the most relaxing time ever. Would definitely recommend it.

I stayed here with a friend at the end of a two week tour of Myanmar and we were not disappointed. Our first floor room looked out over the garden and beyond that, the sea (I would recommend asking for a top floor room). The room was huge with a large balcony and the bed were very comfortable. The hotel is not on the main, long Ngapali beach but on a cove around the corner. This was a plus point in my opinion - the beach was deserted, we were away from the bulk of the tourists yet the restaurants and bars of the main beach were only a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride away.

Diamond is the absolute best VALUE that you will find anywhere in Ngapali Beach. You can pay a lot more money at the other resorts but you still won't be able to find more outstanding, genuinely welcoming service. The fantastic manager and his cheerful team are truly the finest that I have encountered at any hotel, anywhere in the world! The level of service exceeded what I have received at even 5-Star hotels such as Ritz-Carlton. Yes, I was that impressed! And I love that the jovial manager hand-selects LOCALS from the nearby village and gives them a chance at a better life through steady employment and extensive training. This hotel hasn't simply bussed in employees from Yangon, the staff has a real connection to the community! Absolutely lovely human beings, all of them. My room was huge and it was an absolute bargain! Even if I would have paid double, it still would have been worth it for the overall service and beauty of the resort grounds. Massive bathroom too - you will not feel cramped here. What I loved most (aside from the helpful staff that bent over backwards to ensure I was happy) was the location! Ngapali Beach has many resorts, but Diamond is the only one located directly next to the fishing village. The beach is pretty, of course, but the highlight of my trip was wandering through the village and being so warmly greeted by everyone who passed by. I have never experienced such a warm welcome anywhere else in the world. And the entire process of the fisherman's work was fascinating to watch! The best pictures of my entire time in Myanmar were taken right here! Very interesting, and thankfuthankfully I did not need to walk over an hour down the beach to see it, like people from some of the other hotels had to do. Manager did so many special things: chopped down fresh coconuts for me to drink, gave me a unique type of banana to try, arranged delicious vegan meals, and went an hour away to book my complicated ticket back to Yangon at no charge!

The hotel is yas the best price in Ngapali. Very cosy and clean rooms, exellent service. Personal is extremely friendly. You can't swim in the see right in front of the hotel as a lot of rocks. But it takes just a couple of minutes to get to swiming place by feet. Higly recomend for those who isn't ready to pay for Hilton but expects comfort and quite staying.

Hilton Ngapali was a superb boutique hotel, well design and the staff was great. The only small complaint is that it is far from most restaurant, but on the good side it was 3min away from the airport.

Great hostel, very new, super clean, very friendly staff. All places were booked out for our 12 days in Ngapali, we chose this place and we were not disappointed! Rooms are quite spacious, Quite basic, but very confortable bed and all basic stuff are there. Wifi working. Basically one of the cheapest place in Ngapali and great value for money. Ok we don't have the comfort of being on the beach as some resort but price was at least 3 times cheaper and 2 minutes walk from the beach. Would stay there again

I chose this hostel as it was the cheapest I could find online but expectations have definitely been surpassed. New hostel with new facilities and new amenities. Overall, the standards is up there as the one of best budget accommodation I've come across in all of Myanmar (trust me on this one). Plenty of showers and toilets, comfy new mattresses (most have had their plastic sheets removed by now), clean sheets with nice pillows and blankets, A/C in room and towels provided. Noticeably spacious environment. Breakfast is included and served on two balconies (plenty of room to chill out). Best part were the staff. Very nice people, friendly and hospitable (as with most of Myanmar). Contrary to the negative comments by the French traveler, the staff here are absolutely respectful. The cleaning and restaurant staff don't have great English (as with most of Myanmar) and probably giggled in embarrassment as they couldn't respond to her in English. If that French traveler took offense they it says a lot more about her than it does of other people. Location is ideal. Access to beach is right around the corner with food stalls just as close. Beach is huge and has the calmest tropical waters I've bathed in. Locals here are super chilled, they don't pesker you to buy anything from them, they just leave you alone. Never experienced, seen or heard of anyone being harassed here (even if you are wearing bikini). Overall, my time in Ngapali was a great way to end my trip to Myanmar.

This place is just a few metres from the beach. The gardens are landscaped well, but the service is lacking. Maybe because of language but more likely the style of the place. Staff seems unhelpful and aloof compared to other places we stayed in Myanmar. The one star on facilities was for the air conditioning, which was regulated to 1-3pm and 6pm-6am. This meant that you got ready for dinner in the evening in a sweltering room and woke early as the room was too hot. Breakfast was also fairly poor with the same limited choices each day. Sun loungers on the roof were also pointless as no sun umbrellas.

The staff really gets out of their way to guess and accommodate you needs and wishes. Very quite location. Good cellular reception/internet. Even fast WiFi. Finally a resort with mosquito nets above their beds. I’ll be back.
