Ngwe Saung is good for relax with white sand and crystal clear water under the blus sky. But seafood are expensive double if we compare with Chaung thar beach.
Ngwesaung has some massive bespoke resort hotels and also some more modest offerings. The village suffers from power outages from 6am to 6pm but some resorts have back up power as do the local restaurants.
The locals are friendly and offer a good level of hospitality. The beach is very basic, a few huts or shacks offering food and drink but very little else unless you are staying at one of the larger resorts. A few trips out are on offer from the travel agencies on the village main street or at the resorts. Food prices in restaurants is more expensive than in other parts of Myanmar but still reasonable. A small internet cafe is located on the main street which can come in handy.
Wonderful beach, but obviously endangered by too many hotels, a total lack of sanitation, waste or environmental concepts as well as power supply by generators everywhere.
Some touristic offers such as boat trips offer lowest quality...
The beach is a nice beach have followed even where. You play with confidence in the shallow. Garbage also did not fall.
Meals There are several restaurants in town, you can eat delicious seafood. Also I want to go.
Some tips for travelers: No ATM's in town, so make sure you are 'cashed up' before going there (there are $$$ changers, but the exchange rate isn't that great).
Restaurant menus are in English, though none we found had prices, but were value for money
VERY small village. Scary road to Yangon. 6 hrs of driving each way. Best shop in town is the Code 99 for WiFi.
There is a very small 'town' but its hardly geared up for tourism - other than the beach there is little else to do other than trek in the jungle/farmland which is very scenic, but take a GPS as locals speak little english.
If you can ride a motorbike, then can explore more which is very worthwhile - guys on the beach can act as inexpensive and informative guides. Heaven for pure beach relaxation!
The village allows for basic shopping and offers a choice of local restaurants to enjoy fresh seafood.
Not much to be seen though but one does not go to Ngwe Saung for its musea or nightclubs(there aren't any and luckily so). The beaches in Myanmar, such as Ngwe Saung or Ngapali, offer increasingly rare opportunities in SE Asia to relax in relative prisitine environs. A must for those who loath high rises, crowds and loud music.
Lover Island is nice and beach is good in overall as the sand is fine and clean, you can enjoy swimming with the waves.
Not recommend to go to Bird's Island to snorkeling, very disappointed, nothing there, really worthless with an hour of cruising, 100$ for nothing and waste of 4-5 hours for overall trip.
if you are tired of artifical building, city noise,Nwgesaung will definitely give you different experience.
The nature scene there is just great. The area there is far away to be developped, therefore, no bar, no sea sports, very suitable for romantics stay.
People in Ngwesaung Beach are very friendly and helpful. One can easily walk around without being disturbed by selling people.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful and hot and very humid early November. Good to take a motor cycle tour as you get fresh aircon in the middle of the day.
Hotels do not have power all day so aircon only from 1-3pm and 6pm-6pm . . less in some places. 9km of stunning beautiful beach, curving coastline, georgeous. Go into the village for dinner. Pepper crab delicious. the (something) Heart Restaurant is good.
