First of all Is a good place to relax ; a place to enjoy nature at its best : forests , lakes mountains , people of all ages trying to enjoy life in different ways they can .
This is probably a must go city in Nepal. It provides many things for tourist. It is less noisy than Kathmandu, and very enjoyable place to stay.
I would recommend Pokhara cause I love to stay there more days. the people there are nice, there's a club named 'Club Amsterdam' is a bit cool restaurant & bar.

Town is dusty, the local council need to do improvement. Electricity national problem. However, many fantastic place to see, example sunrise, anapurna range, caves, rivers.
Take Greenline bus though its a bit costly to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu (7 hours beautiful road trip) and if time permits spend a day or two at Chitwan which is mid-way between Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Pokhara is a very nice and clean city with beautiful natures to see, highly recommend to stay away dusty Kathmandu and get some quiet and relax moment in Pokhara, recommend to do the paragliding and join a half day city tour too.

Pokhara is a tourist town. The local residents were friendly and helpul and i ejoyed trekking in the surrounding mountains.
The main activities here are: Sight-seeing, boating, paragliding, hiking. We did not do hiking, as we only stayed for 2 days.
First of all, what you have heard about Nepal about political issues and other things, is not your problem.
Quite touristy in the town itself, with lots of shops and restaurants. Take a few steps away from the shopping street though and you're right by the lake - lovely!

It was worth to visit world peace pagoda for sight-seeing, sarangkot for viewing of himalaya mountain during sunset or sunrise, and Tibet Village for history.
Don't miss to visit the sunset and sunrise at Sarangkot. There are more activities such as Paragliding, mountain flight.
very nice city,cleaner and more relaxed than Kathmandu,lots to see in the area,including the Himalayan Golf course which is spectacular, even if your not a good player i recommend a round here.
Our objective was to relax. So we took things slow. We only had half day on our first day so we just walked around and shopped.

Pokhara has CLEAN AIR which after coming from Kathmandu is a God-send. Lots of things to see and do in the locality, from adventure sports to just chilling around the lake, enjoying the restaurants and maybe reading a book, or chatting to the very friendly local people.
It is a great city with a great view of the lake and near by mountains. Para Gliding/river rafting/boating and trekking are your day time activities.
