Find Hotels in Putian, China

The Website said English Speaking staff available, this was not the case. When I found a giant spider climbing up my wall I phoned reception and had much difficulty explaining (in my terror as this really was the biggest spider I’d ever seen) the problem. Finally they came and chased the spider behind the tv cupboard which was no good to me, but they immediately helped me pack my bags and moved me to a room in the main building. They were very helpful, although the English would have been useful. I also had difficulty trying to get information about sight seeing. We played charades and pictionary in order to communicate. Otherwise this really was a great hotel, the staff were friendly and apologetic. I had got a great last minute price, otherwise the value for money wouldn’t have been so good in my opinion. The grounds are beautiful although some distance from the hustle and bustle of the city, so choose what you are looking for as you will need taxis to get around.

we stayed at double tree putian for 3 nights and the stay was pleasant and nice. the lobby is big and smell really nice. the bed is very comfortable, clean. shower was hot and powerful. staffs were friendly and helpful. we had problem calling for a cab to sent us to the airport because we do not have the china online payment app, one of the bell boy by the name of Morgan helped us call the cab and paid for us. we then TT the money back to him using another's friend china payment app.

Rooms at the rear of the hotel are subject to a high level of noise because there is a transport business on the ground floor operating at all hours, so choose a room facing the road. Staff are really good but no English so make sure you have a good translator App on your mobile phone. The hotel doesn't take foreign credit cards so bring cask. As a foreigner you cannot get a Chinese SIM card for your mobile unless a Chinese national with ID helps you.

The booking come with breakfast as stated in the website and also the booking confirmation slip. During check in, we were told that the room rate exclude any breakfast and were asked to pay another RMB38 per person for a breakfast. We expressed our dissatisfaction but they staff only keep quiet wit this matter. We hope Agoda can look into this matter and give us an explanation in this. The location of the hotel is far from city centre. There is no nearby shop or restaurant around. The only way is to call for a taxi to go anywhere you want.

Really love the design of this small inn, local breakfast is included. Close to the main attraction (Matzu main temple & plaza 媽祖祖廟，媽祖廣場). It's not within walking distance from the jetty, the management will send an email upon booking. Phone number is provided to arrange for free pick-up. To get to the mainland jetty from Putian train station, take bus 363, while 361 will take you to Putian city.
