"The room was clean and nice enough, but the walls are thin and you can hear everything that's going on in the corridor. The front desk staff are friendly and try to be helpful but one man gave me completely incorrect info (he said the bus time to nosara was double what it actually is, and said the flight time was 8 times more than what it is), maybe it was a language barrier but don't bother asking for travel advice in English "

"ok room for a budget hotel, however the bathroom is in some serious need of bleaching. Very bad smelling drains which a quick application of bleach would help. "

More about San Jose

The Costa Rican capital is an exciting mix of beautiful natural landscapes and classic architecture, perfect for experiencing the most that a trip to Cosa Rica has to offer.

The city is served by Juan Santamaria International Airport, which is just under a half-hour outside of the city center. The city has also seen a recent revival in train travel, especially popular for travelers arriving from nearby cities like Heredia and San Pedro.

The San Jose City Center is a great place to start the exploration of this city, while the Mercado Central offers a chance to explore the Costa Rican food culture.

In Barrio Amon, the small and impressive Zoologico Nacional Simon Bolivar houses an impressive collection of native and non-native animals of all kinds. It’s a great choice especially for those travelling with children.
