place like to go Sibu market, Bukit Aup, Wisma Sanyan and Sibu nightmarket. hotel like to stay Tanahmas, Paramount, RH hotel.
there a few motel, inn or hotel in sibu town but never try it before.
Main attractions is the museum with old and antic stuffs. It is a old hospital building. Walking distance from the hotel.
shopping in sibu is made easy because most shopping arcades are within walking distance. Textiles are cheaper as compared to other cites and food outlets are plenty
Very Chinese orientation town with many Foochow people. Worth trying to have lunch/dinner at New Capitol Restaurant.
Food preparation and taste are decent and affordable.
CHINESE DOMINANT AREA. EASY TO FIND HALAL FOOD AS THE SIGN OF HALF MOON/ HALAL IS HIGHLIGHTED AT THEIR PREMISES
Delta Public Pools - to cool off. The Heritage Centre has a nice museum and it's free. The Chineese Temples Hat Bai Seafood and Jack Porks we'd both say were very good and very reasonable prices!
Sibu is easily discovered in a day. The eating options are excellent all around town. We ate at 'Jack Pork' down by the river ferry terminal and temple.
There are a selection of new very swish western style places in a row there that all looks very nice. We also ate at Hai Bing Seafood as in the guide books. If you don't look out the back for cleanliness etc. it was great street side food, we had a seafood claypot, delicious and the guy was super friendly!
Friendly locals and must find the speciality food that you must explorer when you are there. No where to be found only Sibu.
One can finish seeing Sibu by foot under a day. The attractions are within walking distance from one another namely Sibu Heritage Center and the Tua Pek Kong.
Great street food, make sure try the Kampua noodle which I think is waaaay better than Kuching's Mee Kolok. A day or two trip is enough to see Sibu making sure you don't miss this central part of Sarawak. Old World charm I think...
Sibu is a small town populated mostly by the chinese, Ibans and Malays. I do not know much about sibu as i was there to visit family.
Sibu by itself it is near the river of Rejang (the longest river in Sarawak), nice place to see in Sibu is nite bazaar and huge Chinese temple few kilometer from town.
Busy town during day time.
this was a las minute & ad hoc business trip request by my boss, too bad i was too busy for business appointment, lost the chance to explore this city, i promised, i will be back again
Sibu is an interesting place to stop before or after going to Kapit. Just don't walk down the little dark street by yourself at night.
A great place for a good feed is Au Fooh, you will need to get there by taxi
Small Town but friendly people around, Multi culture and nice local food. International traveler shouldn't have any problem for food and languages .
Friendly people and the local markets are full of variety fruits, food and crafts where the prices are very reasonably cheap.
There are high end and affordable stores at the shopping mall. Restaurants and coffee shops are everywhere. I would stay at least 2 or 3 days exploring the local markets there.
Small city, but is still in the progress of developing. Lots of great big open area for people stay in moden city to relax.
While your very first time visit this simple city, the first thing you need to do is try the famous local foods - Gan Pua Mee & Guang Bing.
The most famous restaurant for Gan Pua Mee is located nearby Sibu Sentral Bus Station - Rasa Sayang Restaraunt. The taste of Gan Pua Mee is delicious & only cost for RM2.50 per bowl. It was the cheapest food that I ever had in Sibu.
Frankly speaking there's not much to see in Sibu. So, only if you're into those old buildings and a great fan of heritage tour, it's worth the effort.
Even though Sibu is a small town you still need transport to move around cos their hyper market are scattered everywhere.
Food are abundant everywhere. Taxi are very easy to call as they have 24 hours service.
Sibu is as boring as it gets, and virtually all institutions or companies related to travel, hospitality and tourism are uninterested, indifferent and incompetent.
Sleep well, Sibu. people still will go to Kuching or KK in the future and skip Sibu. Right so !
