nice and safe , with many things to do just taxi too expensive and not too many tourists makes it very fun and relaxing
Subic is a good place to go when you don't have time to go to Boracay or one of the other beach destinations in the Philippines.
It is only a 45 minute drive from Clark on an excellent toll road, SCTEX. The best restaurants and night life are located on the old Subic Navy Base. The coastal highway near the beaches are mostly girly bars.
I like living in subic, the air is less polluted, food is great, clean, thats why i bought a house in subic, i love it.
Relaxing ambience, no traffic, great for shopping because a few people go here especially Ayala Harborpoint, you can enjoy Ocean Adventure, Zoobic Safari and the beach life and activities.
Best also for training marathons
This city is often visited by tourists because of the many attractions that you can find like Treetop Adventure, Zoobic Safari, Ocean Adventures among many others.
Aside from that, there are many hotels and resorts that you can choose from. It's a nice vacation getaway
City have a lot of bar's and night club's and that in combination with beaches and pretty girl's are probbaly the main attraction ;-).
Beaches are quite OK mostly cleaned by hotel stuff. Prices for food in restaurant's usually around 6-10$ / person for main with drink (50% compair to UK) Prices in bar's are ofcourse higher ;-)
This is a nice get away and very different from other vacation spots in the Philippines. there are lots of options for all different interests and tastebuds
SUBIC IS A CITY FAR FROM NIGHTLIFE and is pre dominantly a locality where local bar girls choose to live as rooms are cheap at this locality.
They then commute daily to their work in BARRIO BARRETTO . Subic is a non entity for shopping and any activity from a tourist point of view.
Take SCTEX to get there faster from the city. Ensure you follow traffic rules as they strictly enforce it there.
Use apps like Waze to get you around easier if you are bringing your own car.
My wife and I were quite disappointed with the "sights" of Subic. The "township" was no different to many other towns and definitely not as good as many.
It is not a place I would visit as a town. There were a couple of attractions advertised - Zoo and Treetop views. We did not visit either. I would prefer to go to Baguio. There the temperature is cooler and there are a lot more attractions.
Subic is a US-like environment. I love how the traffic flows and given each (one by one) car a chance to pass, as there is no traffic lights along freezone areas.
Signs are everywhere, when you are going to themeparks. Themeparks recommended in Subic: Ocean Adventure, TreeTop Adventure, Zoobic were excellent and recommended for children. Funtastic Park was VERY VERY disappointing, it is way different from what they are promoting. I suggest they visit the "ART IN ISLAND" in Cubao QC so they would understand what's the real art museum means. Will not recommend as it is waste of your money. In addition, its very expensive for a 10-minute walk down the area. Grass maze was disappointing too as it is very hot outside & place was so messed up. Thank you.
We went to Funtastic. The place is small but somehow offers something new like their mirror maze, 3D trick eye.
We also went to Jest Camp. It is very near Tree top Adventure. Tree top adventure has zipline, Silver surfer and Tree fall. All activities in Tree top are fun. In Jest Camp, they teach you jungle survival which I find so useful and practical. They also have bird show. The place has a lot of potentials.
Subic is a well disciplined place especially on the road. Hope we can do this also in NCR. We're looking forward to more activities in Subic!
The Baloy beach on Olongapo side has to be cleaned up. It's dirty and smells like oil spill. The local government there should take this very seriously otherwise they will start losing tourists here.
They need to build more family friendly areas and they have to check the quality of rooms being offered by hotels. Again, an honest opinion.
It is fast to get to subic now, passing through nlex, sctex, and subic-tipo exit. Going to zoobic and ocean adventure is one thing that anyone should not miss.
Its a short travel from manila and affordable quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
Subic bay and Ologapo are the places to see and do things. There is a golf course, a Sea park, and canopy park.
Forest tree top adventures are a great family place. Going up the coast to other cities and towns will provide more for treckkers.
Subic seems to be a hive of industry and is expanding with new housing estates of quality homes. The heavily vegetated, surrounding hills are quite lovely
If you are staying down in the Baretto area, take advantage of the ubiquitous trikes to get around. It`s only 50 pesos from Johans to the Arizona hotel and that`s much better than walking in the hot sun.
Get away from the hustle-and-bustle of Manila and enjoy some time in the Luzon countryside, near the sea.
Subic has a lot to offer enthusiasts of water sports and scuba diving. It also has a small, but thriving nightlife.
The strip of beer-bars/adult bars just out of town are good for easy-going solo's and couples. They are safe and good fun.
They are not seedy compared to other places. There are some good restaurant/dining options and a few popular new bars opening that cater for those wanting a 'cleaner' less full-on night out. Subic is OK for a short break, nothing more. Head North for better beaches and views.
Subic has a lot to offer for families like beaches, nature trips, shopping and other attractions like Ocean Adventure.
The area is a bit like an old red light area if we look at Barretto and Baloy so not ideal for families.
Subic Freeport is more family type and Subic Town does not have much of value for tourists as such -very local market town and busy.
The old navy base has fallen into great disrepair and neglect. The buildings dont follow and common code and the old buildings have become an eyesore.
Should have a better community feel instead of a run down place with a nice mall. They need to tear it down and rebuild it better. Piss poor management of a potential business and family venue. Get ayalla land here to remodel the base
Just around 3 hours by hiways from Manila probably the best place to unwind and also to shop in their duty free shops.
If you are a single male, and want the beach as well as companionship, this place is hard to beat, even though I went there with my fiancee, I can appreciate this place for what I saw.
subic is an easy place to rreach from the airport, subic is clean, organize city, lots of beachfront hotels good on the budget.
the place is safe and close to nature. i love the place
Lot of bars and night life. People were OK to us. Not much ease to do at night but bars. If you want to drink and be with bar girls go there.
Families should stay farther along the area we did.
It's very clean and peaceful. You can really feel the nature and it has lovely sights especially for nature lovers.
