1. Goto the central Market, you find all kind of Dried seafood. 2. Visit Kam Ling Seafood restaurant.
It' the freshest in town.
A small town with full of shoplots. local foods are nice, particularly the seafood, although is a little pricey.
Nice city, quiet and peaceful but not suitable for long stay due to no nightlife at all, superb boring.
Small town with not much to do. Can cover the main places in town within one to two hours. Good to find dried fish.
I stay during my business trips and they always have event on their conference hall. The hall is convenient and big enough to hold event in Tawau.
The hotel also attach with shopping mall where convenient to get grocery if you need to. The location of this hotel is very easy to access to every where in Tawau town. Highly recommend for all business traveller.
It is a stop over town for travelers going to holidays on surrounding island like Sipadan, Pom Pom Island, Mabul Island and many more Island resorts around Sempoerna.
There are also a few famous seafood restaurant and coffee shops which serve affordable and fresh seafood.
Visit the fishmarket (pasar tanjung). There you can get plenty of items to bring back home. apart from that, dont think there is anything much in the town.
Spent time for yam char, dinner and walk around in new township area, visit central market to buy local products.
A very peaceful town with mountain & sea surrounding, lots of boutique hotel with reasonable price & breakfast including which i'm strongly recommend " Shervinton Boutique Hotel " to all business traveller like me.
Not much can tell about this city as I only transit here to Sempurna but I really like the sea food here.
tawau nestled at the border between malaysia and indonesia and it should be an interesting spot for travellers who like to visit our next door neighbour indonesia, about 15 minutes boat ride?
There is not much worthwhile to see or do for tourists in Tawau. If you have to stay there before or after a tour, do so for one night only & move on.
some very good seafood restaurants in this town. A good market to get fresh fish and other sea products.
Tawau is small, food is expensive and less choice. Hope next time when i go there again, its was changes alot.
Especially restaurant and shopping place.
Only stayed here for a night after our dive trip, found the place quite dirty and run down with lots of rats around the market area where vendors were selling their food.
Not as much English spoken as other parts of Malysia, it would be helpful to learn a few phrases and have a food dictionary.
Tawau is an airport city, nothing to do or see here. Only stay here if you are catching a flight. Remember all the hotels are about 30 minutes from the airport.
This is a very small town, rich in seafood and three lovely golf courses. Two hours away by road and sea brings you to some great islands for scuba diving and snokerling.
We went there for golfing so it is great to combine with sea activities.
