The people & food are great. My wife and I loved the town. We enjoyed the museum, Callao Cave, bat cave (make sure to see the bats leave in the evening), swimming in the beautiful river at the bat cave entrance.
Our Lady of Piat (about 45 minutes away) for a wonderful spiritual journey with life-size statues in the garden behind the church depicting Bible scenes. Other beautiful churches: Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral, Divine Mercy, Our Lady of Chartres Chapel on the St. Paul Univ. campus.
I was amazed that this city has spawned a variety of noodle dishes. Each person i asked seems to have a different opinion where i can find the best pancit patil patong.
Each resto version is different and unique. I made the cardinal mistake of asking for a menu when i first arrived. The panciteria serve 1 thing and thats it. I was amazed at the addition of bagnet at J-rens, i was equally wowed by the richness of Eva's version. Maybe next time i will try the one with brains or the one with chilli. Bring a friend, or make one by asking them to show you their favorite panciteria. :) Note, its better to visit Tuguegarao in the cold months like december to febuary. During summer, this place used to have the record as the hottest place in the phillipines.
The city is not developed. There is nothing to see which would be a great attraction. only the Callao cave is wonderful but the road going there is bad.
Sightseeing is very nice, mostly green and blue, beaches are great also. Dinning is great and cheap!
