Best hotels & accommodations in Ulaanbaatar

Several restaurants on site which was very convenient. A wonderful breakfast smorgasbord in the dining room, however, it did get a bit boring after a few days as it didn’t seem to change. Staff were extremely helpful, about anything within the hotel. However, they didn’t have much knowledge of tourist information in Ulaanbaatar. I think this is because most people vis...

Frankly, Springs is somewhat overpriced, but in fairness so is every other hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Rooms are clean, the beds are unusually comfortable by Asian standards, and the staff are extremely helpful and speak excellent English. The Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor operates independently of the hotel and should only be regarded as a last resort in, for example, ...

Everything you'd expect from a Shangri-La. Staff is very service oriented and go out of their way to serve you. I needed some medicine and they went to the pharmacy for me and brought to my room. Hotel is very new and nicely decorated - only open a month. Rooms are spacious and have standard amenities for a 5 star. Had been traveling in the countryside and the splurge ...

We traveled for business and stayed here one night. Hotel is clean, comfortable and functional. We stayed in standard twin room. Room was spacious, beds was very comfortable. Internet was fast. We did an online conference with my HQ. Business lunch in pub at the 16th floor was cheap and tasty. Receptionist recommended us to visit SPA. The spa was new, comfortable and...

A comfortable and enjoyable stay after a week camping in the desert. It is listed as a 5*, honestly, probably a strong 4*, however it is your best option in Ulaanbaatar. All staff, from Reception, to Room Service, to Butlers and Bell hops are polite and helpful. They gave our bags a clean as requested before sending them up to the room, and later, we took advantage of...

We booked the standard room with 2 single beds. The beds are a bit short for anyone over 6ft but we had comfortable sleep otherwise. Complete basic amenities and everything is quite clean. The staff were very helpful and efficient since we had several issues due to a snow storm when we were there. Close enough to a monastery (nice pics) and restaurants (plenty within...

The main reason I chose the Chinggis Khaan Hotel was that it had a swimming pool and sauna. I was very disappointed that they were closed for maintenance during my stay. The receptionist who I spoke to told me they would re-open next month, which meant I could not use them. The room was big and comfortable, but my toilet seat was partly broken. The room was clean, but ...

Though it is a bit far away from city centre, about an hour drive, there is a warm welcome from the staff. The room is spacious and very comfortable, clean and large window wall that you can enjoy the scenery of glassland just siting in sofa. The restaurant food is superb, we had tried three meals there and the horse head performance show after dinner. There is an Engl...

At a very reasonable price, Royal House provided true hotel service, nice additional facilities such as restaurant, bar, billiards (if you reserve) and weekend karaoke (karaoke is everywhere in Ulaanbataar, if you hadn't heard). The room was fabulous including a separate living room and comfortable bedroom. The only marginal area was the bathroom that was somewhat sm...

I booked twice so please check the other review as I won't repeat myself. Kaiser is the perfect base for a holiday in Ulaan Baatar and even when youre heading outside. i went to Khustain then to Terelj and the huge Chinggis Khan Monument at the "Golden Whip". Kaiser is perfect because it is set back from Peace Avenue so this is a quiet place to be, but it's easy to wal...

This is a spa center that happens to also have 7 hotel rooms. The room we stayed in was massive and had many amenities not typically found in UB hotels (Japanese toilet, fully stocked minibar, big screen TV, in-room breakfast) and at very reasonable prices. After spending 2 weeks in different ger camps every night, this was a welcome respite. And I haven't even mention...

I was incredibly impressed with this hotel. It is located near the railroad station and a staff member met us at 5am with a free ride back to the hotel. They proceeded to let us check into our rooms early and even gave us breakfast that first day. This exemplary customer service continued throughout our stay. All of the staff was friendly, helpful, and went above and b...

I didn't have a hard time choosing an affordable hotel in Ulaanbaatar. The moment I saw Zaya Hostel in the top search results and read its reviews, I was sold. And based on my personal experience, it was easy to understand why. Upon arriving, I was eagerly welcomed by its manager, Anand. He speaks great English and always checks up on the guests. He toured me first ar...

My stay at the Corporate Hotel was a very good one. The staff in particular is very helpful and speak very good English. Also the location of the hotel is good. And the facilities (gym, restaurant, rooftop bar) are good too. Room was a bit worn out but it didn't really bother me much - not sure what the general quality of hotels in Ulaanbaatar is elsewhere... Overall, ...

Zaya 1 is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. A family owned and run business, it is conveniently located (close to the State Department Store), clean, VERY competitively priced, and operates in a friendly atmosphere. The brothers who run both Zaya 1 and 2 speak fluent English, and offer advice and help so willingly and genuinely... it's a really lovely experience. ...

We paid 80usd/day for a total of 8 days tour across the Gobi desert and central Mongolia and it was the time of our life. The package was actually the cheapest (we surveyed another 3 tour agents in Ulaanbaatar). We had a wonderful and skillful driver, a good tourguide who was also our cook, unlimited supply of water, comfortable stay at local gers, also tickets to nat...

I loved this hotel very much with their spacious apartment provided. There are 1 double bed room and a twin bed room, plus a common area with pantry, everything are so well prepared for their visitors. The apartment was well maintained as well. Though the location is a bit far from centre but it's another viewing angle for us to this city

On first day we lost our luggage when the plane arrived Mongolia. The host help us to call to the airline and arrange all our things of the baggage. How sweet it is! Also he care about the little smell of the room, he suggest us to move to his apartment. Actually the room is satisfied for us. It’s really nice hotel in Mongolia!

As a slightly unpleasant experience at the train station, we were relieved that the owners could come and pick us up in their car! And that was just the beginning of the fantastic service that made our entire stay in UB more enjoyable. The lovely couple who run the place were so keen for us to have a good time, they helped us arrange things, told us the best places to ...

I was provided with two super single bed made the room spacious. walkway The lobby to the room is very inconvenient as there were many steps. Had to carry the luggage when walking the steps. The breakfast is more Japanese but the dinning table and chair are limited. Also it start serving at 7 which is late. I stayed at the West Wing that is a bad choice. The Indian ...

The best thing about the hotel is the very friendly and helpful staff. Even with our 3 small children, they were always helpful. The staff know some basic English which was enough help to make our travel arrangements. The hotel is a short 7-10 minute taxi ride (depending on traffic) to the center of UB.

After a long trip from Irkutsk to Ulaanbaatar, we were very happy to finish our trip in a good hotel, meeting international standards. The hotel is centrally located and close to major attractions. It has a very good restaurant with a good international menu. Very good internet wifi in the rooms. Very friendly staff. We will certainly choose this hotel in our next tr...

Wifi was intermittent. Room was clean and had all the necessities i needed. Room service was affordable and well made. Breakfast is a set menu, not buffet style. Only gripe, check in staff spoke very poor english, made it difficult to arrange taxi transport or ask questions about the locality.

Took the train from ulaanbaatar to beijing. Good location near train station. About 3 km walk. Took a cab less than 5 mins. About 2000 turks. Service was decent, they claimed that I have cancelled the reservation which I did not. No hot water, has a water heater but not too hot either. Near the train station means the unrelentless sound of incoming train proves hard ...

Stayed for 2 nights, all facilities were clean and modern, convenient location at centre of Ulaanbaatar, good restaurants nearby. Staffs were friendly and professional, had a pleasant stay before departing Mongolia. Would chose here again if coming back.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The restaurant of the Hotel serves traditional Mongolian dishes The staff was very friendly, helpful and very efficient specially Sara at reception. I had a health problem when we were there in January and Sara was very helpful to guide me through medical resources.

My only problem as a business traveler was that the apartment was never cleaned nor tidied up daily. They only do it once a week. Also they do not replenish the toiletries and water. Otherwise, everything was great, spacious, and it has a cafe and grocery store in its ground floor!

Traveler impressions of Ulaanbaatar
Fairly good city but with very heavy and chaotic traffic. Alone a foreigner should not venture out late evening.
Ulaanbaatar has some nice buildings that look very Russian. There are some good museums such as the National Museum of Mongolia and there is also good shopping.
Great City with lots of exciting historical perspectives. Very good from the point of view of climate.

More about Ulaanbaatar
While the rest of Mongolia’s scenery is, at the very least, completely stunning, Ulaanbaatar remains a largely monochrome city without any special touches to make it stand out. Therefore, a lot of the walking around the city to see unique architecture may not yield the best results. It’s best to see what’s been curated in the city’s many museums and galleries, such as the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts. There are several hotels near the museum, and staff at most hotels are very knowledgeable about the city and willing to help newcomers carve out the perfect plan to see everything that Ulaanbaatar has to offer.
It goes without saying that one of Mongolia’s most famous citizens will certainly have to be Chinggis Khaan, whose history is still very much relevant in the country, as evidenced by the popularity of the Chinggis Khaan Statue in the center of town. After a couple of days in the city, it is absolutely imperative to venture out to the mountains and plains of this breathtaking country, and see everything that it has to offer.
