the entrance to the hotel is a nice manicured garden,the view at the reception is lake windermere, the staff is always smiling and wonderful , professional, breakfast selection decent, but quality really really good, service is great, nice complimentary stuff like top notch drinks and tea and coffee , fresh and great breakfast, good nice garden , very nice for morning and evening walk!!!, view of lake windermere, walking distance to the pier , beautiful elegent classy, and nice hotel in a garden, perch on a hill overlooking the lake, best hotel in windermere, romantic, I like the oldskool lift nostalgic

1. The location is the best! From our room, we can see beautiful scene of lake district. Super love it!! 2. The location of the hotel is very near to the boat terminal where you can choose to go to other part of lake district or just stay on the boat to view the majestic scenery of lake district. (There were 3 types of boat you can choose to enjoy the lake district) 3. The breakfast served in the hotel is above average. Other than buffet choices, they also serve english breakfast. Eating breakfast with superb view of lake district was just fantastic. 4. The room. The room is spacious! We super love it! We were travelling to several places in the uk and we need to pack our things (we shop a lot!), lake district was the second last night we spent during our recent travel to the uk, and thank god for the spacious room at this hotel, we managed to pack eveything here, (we brought 2 big bags size 24" and 3 cabin bags). The tea and coffee room facilites is good and the toiletries given is the best!! We super love the lavender bath and shampoo set and the lotion! It smells fantastic! 5. Overall we super love this hotel and we found it very romantic, our short break or short honeymoon stays in this hotel was totally worth it!!!

My husband (a senior citizen) and I stayed in Kirkwood Guest House, Prince's Road, Windermere City Center, Windermere, UK during 14 - 16 June 2018. We were visiting from Singapore. The Guest House is situated approximately midway between Windermere Railway Station and Windermere Lake (Bowness). The location of the Guest House is ideal for exploring the place by walking. Paula and Richard - our hosts accommodated us in a Double Room with Four Poster Bed with a nice view of the serene neighbourhood. Both of them were friendly, polite, hospitable, caring, and helpful. The complimentary, sumptuous breakfast had a wide choice and it was always served with a smile. There are a lot of eateries and souvenir shops nearby and all of them are within the walking distance. On the date of our departure, it was drizzling and the weather was not so favourable, so Paula sensed our uneasiness and she arranged a taxi for us to go to the Railway Station at a nominal price. That was a great parting gift!

Anthony was lovely to meet and his bnb was lovely. Very clean, cosy and delicious breakfast. Quick walk into Windermere, where I'd Highly recommend there local brewed stout!

Great location as the second B&B after the shops end heading from Bowness up the hill to Windermere. Room was clean and had what we needed. Breakfast was fantastic and staff were polite and always happy to help. Would recommend

Beautiful view from the room over Windermere, managed to take my kayak out from the hotel jetty for a morning paddle- wonderful.

We stayed at Langley view Guest house Thursday 24th October. We researched properties in the Area first through various booking sites. This Guest house was reviewed highly and it is very close to the centre of Things in Bowness. Close to the Angel Inn and Roundabout so it’s really good to get around from here. Very friendly couple running Langley View, nice warm welcome and we were able to get in our room slightly earlier which was fantastic to do so. We had the Superior double Langdale En-suite. It was very lovely. The Proprietors were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast served between 8:30-9:30am weekdays was really nice. Couldn’t fault it here. Really worth a visit and very close to the centre and a very short walk to Lake Windermere. The Craig Walk way could do with more lighting at night. Very Dark return to the Guest House. Obviously not the Fault of the Guest House, but extremely dark with little lighting on Craig Walk. That said Would we return ??? Yes we would.

I was travelling from Manchester north to the Lake District with no specific place to stay other than likely in Keswick. When I discovered the road was shut down due to the flooding I decided at the last minute to stay in Windermere. Discovering Holly Lodge on an app, I booked a wonderful clean room close to town with a car park. It also provided breakfast which was scrumptious. The proprietor was helpful and friendly and the B&B is located right around the corner from a market and a wine shop and tons of restaurants. All of this for a price that was more than reasonable. I'd happily stay here again.

It was raining and cold (in June) when we arrived but we had a warm welcome from Sue our host. Room was small but clean and bright. Location was good as only 10 mins walk to Bowness lakeside for the cruises and about 20 mins walk to Windermere town centre. We just parked our car and walked. Breakfast was cooked and very nice. Fully recommend this establishment.

Very beautiful building in a great location with views of Lake Windermere. Staff were great and the rooms were a decent size. My only complaint is that the stairs are a bit awkward to navigate with large cases.

Myself and a friend just had an overnight stay (unfortunately) at "Rum Doodle". We could quite happily have managed a few more nights. The house is amazing to see, an awful lot of thought and imagination has gone into it. It is quirky and a lot of fun. The house was very clean, inviting and everything is top notch. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice from the buffet, cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, toast etc, followed by an excellently cooked full English! There is a breakfast menu with many more options. The location couldn't be better, close to Bowness and Windermere. All in all we had a very much needed and welcome break and will definitely be booking again the next time we have a "Girlie" break.

Excellent location with clean room with clean washroom even though the room is a bit tiny. Breakfast is perfect. If we have a chance to come to Windermere again, we would come back to this guest house.

The attic floor which housed the 4 of us was a little small but we were ok as we only stayed for a night. The location was superb & our lovely hosts were very friendly. Was especially thankful to Michelle who allowed us to store our 5 pieces of luggage in the premises till after lunch. Windermere is a lovely place & we will return to spend more time to explore the next time.

Lovely weekend away in the centre of Windermere - on a quiet road with free off road parking spaces. Modern design in the bedroom with a really comfy bed and pillows. The breakfast choices were really nice, and even home made bread for the toast!

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very welcoming , pleasant, attentive and helpful. The food was excellent. The location is really good for exploring Lake Windermere. Our room was light and airy but the bathroom could do with a bit of an update particularly the shower - weak pressure. Also our room was near a large extractor outlet which was quite noisy from early in the morning plus a side door was banged repeatedly by staff coming in. So if I were to stay again I would ask for a different room. Apart from this I would highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

The bar/lounge was so quaint. The breakfast was amazing. Rooms were sufficient. The property is a bit outside of the Windermere area, but we really didn't mind the drive.

We stayed in the Tivoli suite for 2 nights. I think it's the best suite from the hotel. The room was very spacious and cleaned. The decoration made the atmosphere of the room very romantic. The spa / hot tub room was amazing and added that special touch for our first weekend away together as a couple. The steam room in the bathroom was perfect too to relax before a nice shower. The bed was very comfy with lots of duck feather pillows and a large and warm duvet. The TV was very big with lots of channels to choose from (there's also a tv in the spa / hot tub room) We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco at the check in and the staff recommended us the best places for dinner. The town centre is walking distance too. We wish we could have stayed an extra night but the hotel was fully booked for the weekend and we had to change hotel for the last night. But we will certainly come back. So many things to do around and we can then look forward to go back to the hotel and relax in a hot tub. Highly recommended if you want a romantic weekend with your special one :-)

Ken & Cindy were fantastic in providing all the information you might need to navigate Lake District. The breakfast was awesome as well.

We stayed in the Windermere room for 3 nights and it was the best B&B experience ever! There was a wide variety of breakfast options and everything tasted incredible. Denis & Anita took the time to chat with guests at breakfast time - they were very welcoming and offered some really good sightseeing tips. Room was clean and equipped with everything you would need. You also get a view of the fells from the living room window. Overall a great experience and it is highly recommended!

The property is equidistant between Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere townships, and is very well maintained and staffed. We booked the large room with the super-king bed, and were impressed by the size of the room and the amenities. It was really nice to have real soap after so many properties only providing tube body wash! Kudos to Rich and the team, including for an awesome breakfast range - the most diverse I've seen and you order the evening before so they can order the fresh produce.

I love my single room, the room No4. The room got anything I need, and the bed is comfortable. Love it! Love it ! Love it!

Having read the Swallows and Amazons books when a child but never having been to the Lake District, I went there while visiting the UK last month. I wanted to stay close to the lake but away from the town and the Cragwood met both criteria. The Cragwood is in a wonderful location a few minutes drive north of Windermere town at the top of a wooded slope overlooking the lake. The hotel building is idyllic; an old, almost castle-like, building with a tastefully designed modern extension. My room was a large double room in the extension. The furnishings were simple but comfortable and the room was very clean. All guest rooms are on the second floor accessed by a single flight of stairs. The hotel interior is very well designed with several very comfortable seating areas, including two very large lounge areas with open fires in the old building. Outside the extensive grounds are beautifully kept and front the shore of Lake Windermere. There are deer and numerous other wildlife in the woods by the lake to add interest to an afternoon walk. The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. I think many of the guests must stay often as they seemed on first name terms with the staff. The atmosphere was almost family but not to the point of intruding on any guest's privacy. The hotel's food is excellent. The breakfast is plentiful and ogf excellent quality. I would rate it the best English breakfast I have eaten anywhere. I look forward to staying at the Cragwood again next time I am in the Lake District.

Wonderful place. Andy and Tracy were so welcoming with tea or coffee and delicious home made cookies on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Very clean and comfortable. Well placed for eating out in Windermere. Longer walk into Bowness. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

The place is run by a sweet English couple. They look after you really well. The breakfast was great. The location is bang opposite the Windermere lake. Only thing is this time , they had an emergency and could not extend our check out time. We had to leave luggage at Station and pay them. All else was good.

The servers are so polite to customer and keen on introducing Windermere good place for travellers

It is very charming b&b where welcoming owner maintains lovely garden and keeps cozy 6 rooms clean everyday, so no wonder why some group really love to stay longer to explore Windermere, worth staying!!
