More about Yamanashi

This city is located near the center of Yamanashi prefecture, in Japan’s Chubu region on the island of Honshu. The city is not too far from Tokyo, just a few hours by bus or train, and is often a day trip destination and a great way to escape the crowds and noise of Tokyo for a little while.

Yamanashi is of course in the same province as the famous Mount Fuji, and that is often the most popular destination for most visitors who make their way to this prefecture. However, there are also some attractions within the small city as well, including Takeda Shrine and Nakamura Keith Haring Museum. One of the best things to do while visiting this city is to take advantage of its proximity to many hot springs and the train to Fuji, especially if looking to do a bit more than exploring the city on foot or by public transportation, sampling the local cuisine, and simply enjoying the fresh air.

There’s much more to see and do in Yamanashi, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to explore where the attractions and hotels can be found in this exciting city.
