Traveler impressions of Yangshuo
Better than Guilin to see the Karst Landscape. the city is smaller and very close to the mountains and the rivers.
It is one of the most beautiful cities in China. Highly recommend to take bamboo boat trip in Yulong River.
Yangshuo is a quaint and beautiful city that really immerses modernity with traditional culture. The first thing I recommend would be to check the weather before you travel here as bad weather can hamper things like not being able to watch the Impression Show as the river was too high due to lots of rain.
The better rafting option would be along Yulong (Meet-the-Dragon) River via traditional manually-steered bamboo raft.
Nice place around 2-2.5hrs car ride from Guilin Bei High speed rail. In future when the HSR opens a stop at Yangshuo, it will be even more convenient.
Market Prices are reasonable but please don't forget to negotiate with shop staffs always. Tag prices are expensive.
Must see: Yulong River bamboo rafting, Dragon Bridge. Stay outside of the town and avoid the tourist mass.
Don't stay in the downtown area if you want to relax. The cars are always stuck in traffic. Stay near the river and in the mountains because the small streets of the town make it harder for car traffic to come through and most people are walking or biking.
YS is a place from where one embarks for other places of interest such as the Yulong River, XinPing and the caves.
One could walk the whole of their famous district known as their "East street". Nothing much to share as everyone is doing the same business as the other one, selling "Beer Fish" or hotelling business.
Take a day trip with bamboo raft and embrace the nature of Yangshuo. Different prices quotes for day trips.
To stay away from a crowded city, you should come here. There are many customs and traditions from the local ethic groups which is worth to come n experience.
All the activities circle in West Street. Do spend some time touring the Li River. Rent a bicycle & take a ride out to see the town.
Find a private tour. We were lucky that our private tour guide was very nice and his car was very new and clean.
Traveling down Yulong River with bamboo raft is a must. Would love to try the rock climbing also next time.
It's a very relaxing place, and there are lots of things you can do and see. In addition, it's not expensive to visit here.
I visited this area a few years back and cannot believe the change. So many bars and restaurants but none deliver quality dining or service.
Very pretty town, with stunning scenery that makes a great backdrop for a cycle around the town into the countryside, or trekking, mountain climbing etc.
The transformation of the bar street area is a big disappointment. Booming nightclub music in every bar with open doors, competing with one another, food and garbage all over the road and sidewalk, lots of really bad smells.
Friendly little town which is the starting point for main attraction in Guilin. The attrations are wonderful in scenery, like Li River, Yulong River, Chinese Wonderland or simply the countryside.
yangshou is the base to explore the countryside. you need a car to visit all the places. for sure 5 days was not enough.
It is really the town of Xing Ping that we found appealing & attractive. The long walk along the Li River there is an amazing experience, & one could spend days repeating the journey & still be captivated by the magnificent scenery.
We stayed here 2 nights, but really needed 3 or 4. Cycling or hiring an electric motorbike is a must.
Yangshuo has great outdoor attractions in the area. The great limestone landscape is something everyone should try to experience when in China.
Tracking tracking tracking We had a guide for 4 days and walked all over the place to see the local attractions and had the best time t
lots of things to do, lots of fun activities - river drifting highly reccommended, bamboo rafting ( 2 seater ) awesome.
Well worth the trip, just for the natural surroundings. Would love to go back at a time that wasn't a National Holiday so that there wouldn't be a million people.
I was a little disappointed by the shopping on West Street, but the cafes and bars looked really nice.
Must try the fish over here, is delious but the price is quite expensive, is depand which shop u are visit.
yangshuo is a beautiful city, but it has not been developed very well for tourism. city centre is dirty and smells bad, locals are not so friendly, they just want your money.
