I have booked hotel Meson de Maria by reading good reviews. They did not disappoint me. Nice clean room, good wi-fi and good location for sightseeing. Only small complin was breakfast. Most of the food run out when I went there. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this hotel.

Had a great stay at Hotel Villa Del Lago -- we even extended our stay by 1 night. We booked the deluxe room with a private balcony because it was the only room available, and are really glad we had to "treat" ourselves - it was really worth the extra $10 or so. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff were always cleaning the common areas. The communal balcony areas are lovely with plenty of seating and tables. Our favorite thing to go was have a drink, play cards, and enjoy the view. The staff also arranged onward transport for us (by bus) and it went smoothly. One thing to note -- there is an additional 5% fee to pay by credit card at this hotel. Perhaps Agoda should make a note of this on the booking page?

Located in a nice neighbourhood. About 30mins walk to the central, or there's transmetro that you can use. Staff was helpful, kitchen was ok, hot shower, extra blanket upon request.

It was a pleasant stay. Got a really big room for just me only. Literally need to pay for anything extra.

Great location near market and obviously Antigua is so small so you can get anywhere easily by walking a few steps in either direction.

Waking distance to Tikal! Authentic feel in lodging : rain shower and wake up to sounds of the rain forest. Food was excellent! In our short stay , we had three meals. Only negative is very strict about 3 people per room but can pay an extra $10 for that person I believe. Over all , memorable experience. One last thing, they will keep your carryon in a room if checking out but spending day there. In addition, if yiou need shuttle from Peten , they will pick you up at the airport for a charge. Great having that option. My brother in law was able to join us using this shuttle.

This place got more than 1 star just because the staff was very nice and helpful...other than the room was aweful. First we got dirty sheets and towels, we asked and got new ones with no problem..but they were dirty as well. Next, we found so many ants in the room we needed to ask the receptionist to help us clean and spray insect repellent in the room. We had spiders (plural!! 5 big ones) On the curtains and some other bugs on the bed. The shower was extremly unstable, getting steaming hot water and freezing water alternitavely without any control. No matter the time of day or how short was the shower (we tried). I don't know how are other hostels in San Pedro, but it's our 4th hostel in Guatemala and by far the worst. If you still want to look at the positive, there's a very good view of the lake and very helpful and nice staff.

Stayed here for two nights in February and will not forget the cold rooms (16-17 degrees Celsius). All attempts to heat up the room with the aircon failed. When I called them, they said the heater doesn't work and that they don't have heating in Guatemala (although the aircon unit had a heating function). So I had to work with my jacket and shoes on. Not acceptable for a 5-star hotel in my opinion. Which is sad, cause otherwise the hotel is quite good. Spacious rooms with all amenities, friendly staff, great breakfast buffet and free wifi.

This hotel enjoys more than the best spot in Tikal. It has a great pool area where you can cool down whilst the park is too hot or too busy. The best times to visit the park is early morning and after 3pm when it has cleared of the main bulk of day visitors,you will see more animals and enjoy most monuments all by yourself. We saw many birds including parrots and toucans there are plenty of spider monkeys and howler monkeys and other animals. We stayed 3 nights and had time to explore everywhere even off the beaten track. Although be aware that there are deadly snakes. The pool snacks are great but the restaurant is not fantastic, the first night we did not get a seat as it was to fully booked but there is another restaurant off site called the commodore which (actually) is better in taste but not look, it is also cheaper. We came to Casa Azul after our visit to Tikal and ended up spending three days. The third floor terrace is a great place to chill out and read. It is a great place to sit and watch the sun set. There is also a great view of the lake from most rooms. The beds are really comfortable. The ladies who work at the hotel speak only Spanish, but communicating was not a problem.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city, very helpful staff. Like many other places in Guatemala there are mosquitos and no window screens no fans no AC! 😡

The host is friendly and the location is very good. The price is cheap and wide. The kitchen is also available. It is clean and safe. Thank you host.

Nice owner who went out of his way to help me by phoning the excursion company to pick me up on the way to the Semuc Champey. However the other young chaps who seem to operate reception are not v proactive. Nice enough basic breakfast

With the hotel everything was nice! JUST BE CAREFULL DO NOT BOOK BUS TICKETS AT THE TRAVEL AGENCY IN FRONT WITH GREEN DOOR! He selled me a direct bus ticket to Antigua with AC and 9h journey, at the end we went with a bad small bus no ac for 8 h thru rio dulce, than we chaged to a better bus but had to go thru Guatemala City, it took me 13h to arrive!

Location is right in the middle of it all. Restaurants and market right there. Good view of the cemetery which is like none other.

The facilities are maintained perfectly. Ultra clean considering it's all open air facilities. Perfect spot on a side arm of Rio Dulce, great sheltered swimming. We were nicely provided with extra blankets for the night, when it got cold. No cons for me, but a few guests seemed to have been caught by surprise with the no outside food, and fact you need a boat to get anywhere around, not much places for a wander. Would gladly return.

Nice place, clean, hot hot shower, quiet for Guat . Gotta walk about 15 min to main street. Walk out the door head toward the water and there is the locals playa, you can also follow the shore to downtown. If you turn left out of the hotel you can walk to Santa Catrina in about 45mins, lots of nice views of the lake on the way. i

Great location and helpful staff for airport pick up and drop off. But like many other hotels in Guatemala there are no screens on the windows, mosquitoes, no fan and no AC. So you will sweat with no air movement

Every aspect of our stay was spectacular. The bi-level suite was everything we hoped it would be. One very nice aspect of the hotel is that it is in a quieter part of the town, but not to the point of losing easy access to everything. Spectacular restaurant, attentive staff, and ambiance galore.

We would thoroughly recommend Casa Amelia.Wearrived in pouring rain after 10 hours in the bus,and it all was so welcoming.Soon we had our shuttle booked for Tikal,and were sitting at the breezy lakeside restaurant recovering-restaurant open until 10.Our room was a corner one with lots of windows looking onto the lake.There was a small supermarket and cash machine just round the corner and lots of restaurants nearby, but we were happy to eat at our hotel which was more peaceful.The included breakfast ws very good too.

Antigua has wonderful choices, with beautiful patios and delicious breakfasts...this is not one of those.

I paid for a dorm room, but it seems like most backpackers head to Los Amigos in the middle of the island so it meant I had the room to myself which was nice. Really helpful staff (Spanish only - which was fine), helped me book my tours to Tikal, but I paid more than some on the tour so maybe shop around.

the room is big with separated toilet and shower, tv. you can cook in the kitchen. host is nice.

Central location, great vibes, big lobby and rooftop ，clean room and bathroom , friendly staff, what else do you want?

We stayed at Marianas for 2 nights. It was conveniently close to the airport and an easy Uber into Guatemala City. The owners were delightful and we loved to fantastic Xmas decorations. Room was large and comfortable and there was a nice terrace.

Clean hotel, noisy as a result of flooding of the front street (along the water), which makes the street directly in front of this hotel to be the turning point in a circular route around this tiny island- cars, vans and motorcycles! Be warned that this hotel does not accept credit cards and the expectaion upon my arrival at 10 pm was to pay all 5 days of my stay with cash. The last thing I needed after a 13 hour transfer from Panajachel. It should be made crystal clear by the property that cash for the entire stay upon check in is the only payment option. If I would have known this ahead of time, I would have booked a different hotel- lots of choice on Flores Island and, in retospect, better placed.

The location is the best you can get.. right on the doorstep of Semuc Champey. You're in the middle of the jungle way up in the mountains so you can't expect a 5 star resort. The place was clean and well maintained and that's all you can ask for. Rooms were spacious. There is no hot water and the power is only on from 6pm to 11pm (by generator) and there is no Wi-Fi. These are not negatives tho. The experience you have here is peaceful and you're surrounded by beauty. The staff went the extra mile to make sure you are happy. The food was great, huge portions and the service was great. I would book this place again in an instant. You can tell that they really care about preserving the environment and integrity of Semuc Champey

After initial confusion to my room, I was placed in a an upstairs room, 1 of 2 on that level, nice spacious room, great bathroom with all amenities, super cheap. A little out of the ways, but still close to restaurants and shops... Wifi was good, no negatives to be honest...
