Loved this hotel. The location was awesome. A little noisy at night from the local bar-goers but if you’re used to sounds of a city then no worries with the noises. The room was great, with plenty of conveniences for a typical Icelandic hotel room. Overall, I would highly recommend!

We stayed here our last night in Iceland to be close to the airport. Hotel is an old military barrick and has several buildings and room choices. There’s a bar, premade foods like sandwiches and wraps and they offer breakfast ($$). You could also use a guest kitchen. Two rooms shared one bathroom, only a problem when we needed to get ready to catch the airport shuttle ($) and someone was already showering. I will say we ended up paying $151 US so thats why the low mark for value. I can get a 3 Star hotel room with en suite in downtown Chicago for the same. Iceland was beautiful, but not inexpensive!

Pros: Cheapest among the hotels in Iceland Cons: Far from city area, Smelly toilet, After makeup room, towels not replenished and hotel keycard missing from room! Breakfast spread was mediocre.

I loved this place, it good valuse as Iceland is really expensive. Itnjas good kitchen facilities and common room which are great for meeting people if thats what you want. It a littlr bit oit of the way with a 15-30min walk to the centre but there is a bus stop just outside as well. Great views th ough at is next to the water. The bar and restaurant down stairs are pretty cool. They have an event on almost every night from salsa dancing to live music. All in all great hostel!

Located in a very isolated place, but still easy to reach, this hotel is perfect if you are on the adventure side to explore the innerlands of Iceland. A tad overpriced for the value offered for available facilities, here's my experience: PROs: - Location is stunning if you are after disconnecting with the world and experience the wilderness of the country side. Self drive there for a full experience - Food and wine served at the restaurant at top notch quality. Breakfast lacks variety, but it's good quality. Can improve: - The spa area is poorly placed, under the concrete pillars, in a very windy setting, with no open view on the sky above. I'd have preferred to see this in an open space, properly fenced with high glass screens to protect from heavy wind and still enjoy being in warm water under a starry sky. - We traveled in winter time, and yes, it snows. Please provide covered parking for cars. In the morning, we have to remove the snow and ice from the car.

Capital Inn is located a short distance by car from downtown Reykjavik-for that matter everything is! Within two miles or so from a large mall, has abundant parking. My room which shares a central living space, kitchen and bathroom with two other rooms was spotless, I would even go ahead and state that it was an example of Nordic chic! One enters the apartment through a door which opens into the kitchen, of the kitchen three rooms marked A-B-C represent the individual rooms which are private and are lockable. The bathroom and shower was fine, the kitchen area with all conveniences microwave, refrigerator, stove? But the star was the room itself, regular size, not huge but clean lines, bright white decoration and light wood decor and floor. The Wifi was good speed. The included breakfast was excellent value considering the horrendously high food prices, it included coffee, tea, juice, eggs, cereal, toast, milk, eggs, fruit salad, sausages and some sort of Icelandic pate which

Arrived here on our first night in iceland. Free laundry is very useful. Wifi is very good. Location is walking distance from the main shopping strip. Bus services direct from airport will drop you at the door. Room was quiet, clean and well equipped. Minor problem at self check in was rectified very quickly by manager.

about 6 Km outside of Vic, it is secluded yet close enough to civilization. Surrounded by big hills that you can hike up (and see northern lights in winter) it has outdoor hotubs, includes breakfast buffet and has quite a bit of space sompared to other icelandic countryside hotels. Rooms were nice and beds were comfortable. This is a nice place to stay as one travels around hyw 1

Really sweet man who runs this. Great advice on alternative places to visit (not in the guide books). Recommended a great local fish restaurant too - which was delicious.

See my review on Trip Advisor. The staff were wonderful. Provided early check-in, solid advice and booking for attractions, tours and restaurants. View of the sea from 4th floor. Clean, modern, comfortable and good breakfast. I was here with my mom, not in a group- unfortunately none of the provided options suit my situation!

It was my first hotel in Iceland so I was a bit shocked at the lack of amenities for the price. No toiletries or refrigerator. No slippers, with a dusty floor. It was comfortable though and a nice design. Shower was hot and the room was warm. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was nice.

Everything was amazing in this Hotel, best location surrounded with restaurants, 5 minutes walk to the sea , very professional and helpful staff, they actually go out of their way to help you in anything you need, spacious room with fully equipped kitchenette, nice amenities and mini bar items, complimentary Juice, milk, coffee, tea, corn flex & one bottle of mineral water, very comfortable bed, I highly recommend this Hotel to Families and Solo travellers, If I come back to Reykjavik again I will definitely stay in this Hotel only. I checked out early in the morning as I had to catch a early flight and I didn’t get chance to Thank you all for making my stay amazing at Reykjavik. The Hotel Floki is a comfortable and nice hotel. It was actually one of the nicest rooms we stayed in Iceland even though it was by far the cheapest. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to downtown area, the area it is in is quiet and residential. Good wifi and the shared bathroom was decent. Breakfast was okay but nothing too special, but it was free so no complaints. The only disappointment was that we thought we'd be able to use the kitchen but it's not available unless you stay in a dorm room. Overall, the Floki exceeded our expectations and I'd recommend it to anyone travelling on a budget.

We loved Canopy by Hilton in Reykjavik city center. The location was truly perfect. It was my second time to Reykjavik and my husband’s first. We both agreed the location was fantastic- easy walk to the best shopping and dining in Reykjavik (and, of course the church, Harpa and the Old Harbor) Parking in the garage across the street was very reasonable and convenient. We arrived very early and were able to get into our room by noon. Checkout time was also noon, which was very helpful on our last day. The room was extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Free breakfast far exceeded expectations - generous warm and cold buffet in a gorgeous restaurant. We would highly recommend canopy to other visitors and will definitely return!

It was a pleasant stay with lots of American tourists, probably it's their favourite hotel in the capital. They serve good breakfast and wifi available in rooms (well actually most hotels in Iceland do). Small drawback in the room: Toilet flush is not particularly powerful. The location is not very centrally located, although they offer shuttle bus + bus pass. If you are driving with a car, maybe it would be your choice, otherwise getting into the centre itself may require like 10-15 mins walk, which is not very handy.

I stayed at Hlemmur Square for one night before my sister arrived with our tent. Good blackout curtains, and a great place to catch up on sleep after a 28 hour flight. Clean, well organized and well located--there is a 24 hour supermarket across the street. They offer a free beer with dinner on your first night--I had the vegetarian chilli and a delicious craft beer for just ISK1100, a steal in Iceland. Nothing in iceland is cheap but this was perfect for my needs.

The owner was very accommodative, but the property frankly needs to be renovated. It’s situated at a prime location in the main Vik town, and with a little expense on renovation, guests can leave with a much better experience. On a separate note, the owner put up a decent breakfast spread, and had a wonderful and cheerful attitude.

This hotel was very cheap to be in one of Europes capitals. The best value for money we have had any places. Even in Deluxe room. We got picked up every morning for the days excusions, so the location did less matter. Very close to official thermal swimming pools, only 5 minutes walk.Very quiet and clean. We will definitely stay hear next time we go to Iceland.

A rooms is very clean. i feel calm and warm circumstance about hostel. also very kind staff welcomed us and explain all facilities about center. kitchen is clean and coffee is so goood. i recommend this center. if i go to iceland again, i'll visit again!

Radisson 1919 boasts perhaps the finest location in Reykjavík, right in the centre of town in the thick of things. Yet it is quiet enought and shielded from the loud revelry in the main square Austurvöllur on weekend nights. The hotel is within easy walking distance of much of the best Reykjavík has to offer: restaurants, shopping, cafes and so on. The service is friendly and efficient, and there's free wi-fi in the rooms. The breakfast buffet is probably the best in town.

Certainly great for a stay of a few days. But 8 days felt a bit too long to be climbing up out of what is basically a space-theme-like futon-box with a built-in media center, mirror, and blue lights. Mattress was a bit too hard for my personal liking, but for a short stay should pose no problems to the younger generations. Staff was awesome, able to help and set up everything from breakfast waffles to VR game time. Cleaning people were on point everyday, so the hostel never felt like a hostel but more like a decent hotel. A little pricey, but generally good value for your money as long as you find your food and drink elsewhere. It's outside the downtown area, so you gotta walk quite a ways or take a bus to get to anywhere important. That bothered me, but then again, I'm an old man! :) Will definitely stay there again in the future and would recommend the experience to anyone curious.

The best hotel I stayed in 8 days in Iceland ... run by an Italian couple, rooms are very clean, very well equipped, the breakfast was amazing with fresh cooked eggs and bacon made to order, wife can’t speak good English but she is so accommodating ... the best part of this place is the view, you have a mini small pond right out front with a sofa by the pond facing Seljalandsfoss, nice good photo shoot spot

Very clean rooms, great breakfast, friendly service, petrol pump right at front, good first stop is you are doing the golden circle ... lastly awesome view from the balcony

love this place. We had a good time here. The best Seafood restaureant is 5 mins away. Highly recommended.

The people who work at this guesthouse really make you feel at home. We arrived with a baby who had to go to bed before we could eat and we desperately needed showers and were told not to rush, they would wait for us to give us dinner. Even though we were leaving without breakfast the next morning, the ladies gave us some coffee while we fed the baby and let us use the kitchen to clean bottles etc. The room and bed was comfortable and the location on the sea beautiful. Our night there was a wonderfully clear night, with so many stars. I would definitely recommend this place as a stop on Route 1 as it is also good value for money.

This was the nicest accommodation we had on our trip. The room was very clean and decor was modern and had a luxurious feel. The staff was very friendly and kind in providing advice for nearby eats. The breakfast provided was plentiful and sumptuous.
