The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach! The hotel offers a beach service, so you don't have to worry about renting umbrellas and chairs at the beach. The rooms are small, but if you're on vacation, you won't be in your room anyway, right?! The breakfast has lots of options! The staff is awesome! They set up a tour, called take out for me and helped with my taxi!
Great hotel a block from the beach”
I would highly recommend this hotel located a block from the beach in Ipanema
Overpriced hotel in a good location”
We stayed in the hotel for the 2012 NYE, therfore the price was extremely high (not unique to this hotel) but the comfort and service was not up to the price. It also seems that the hotel practice high prices during all seasons. The Breakfast was simple but OK, the location is great (2 min from Ipanema beach, 5 min from the Friday Market), the room size are average and the bathroom needs to be re-done. Overall, I would not recommend this Hotel
Great location, but not a lot of frills”
Be advised that there are two hotels, or two buildings that are considered part of the same hotel. I got the feeling that the building I was in was the "secondary" building: older, not as nice, and having less attention from management. When I called down to the lobby, there was always a runaround once they figured out I was in the "other" building. The stay was pleasant, but probably not enough to justify the price.
I have always stayed at this hotel whenever I visit Rio (8 times). It is not a five star hotel, but the rooms are clean and confortable. Above all, the staff are very friendly and very helpfull, some of whom have been working there for at least 10 years. I did not feel safe on the beach, almost got mugged twice. Wish the hotel had its own security service on the beach where it has its deck chairs.
The hotel was touted as having a swimming pool and restaurant which are actually at another hotel down the street. The Everest Park has nothing.
