California State hotels & places to stay

Place was "value for money" compared to the price of the Disney hotels. Going to and from the Disneyland resorts via the ART bus shuttle is convenient for a fee. I am just concerned over the fact that I was advertised to get a Disney view room - what we got was the back of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride and the higher portions of the fireworks.

I stayed at Hotel Nikko recently for three nights. I’ve stayed in San Francisco to visit our daughter many times, typically at the Westin St Francis. For this stay, I decided to try Hotel Nikko and am so glad I did! The room I had was beautifully appointed, the staff, from the front desk to the doorman and housekeeping were incredibly helpful, fun and thoughtful. I stopped by the front desk to let them know that they had made this stay one of the best San Francisco experiences I’ve ever had in the city. The hotel is modern, the elevators swift, the staff delightful and helpful without being intrusive, the rooms so quiet and comfortable, the location so convenient to everything downtown - just a fabulous experience for a visitor to this lovely city. They represent the best this city has to offer. I’ve found a new favorite and will definitely stay here when next I visit! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting! We rolled into San Francisco on an evening flight and we waited for an hour before the shuttle showed up standing in the cold. We called a few times but it only came an hour later. As we got into the hotel, the front desk lady told me sh couldn't find my reservation and later we realised that I had booked the hotel a day later (I made a mistake and booked the room for a day later because I failed to consider that we flew out on a red-eye flight) The very nice lady let us check in and asked me to sort it out with Agoda and in the meantime. I called Agoda.com on my Skype using the wonderful free wifi in the room (it was excellent connection) and sort it out with the Agoda officer within mins and I didn't get any extra charges. Excellent customer service. Thumbs up to both the hotel and Agoda!!

A very pleasant experience all around, from the welcoming care we received, to quick service when more towels were needed, to our room even smelling wonderful. The location was perfect for our evening activities.

I booked a balcony room. That was a perfect room with nice view city, and amazing conditions. You can observe whole downtown San Francisco and enjoy sunset or dawn a vocation day. Location is perfect and convenient for shopping and dining. You can walk and shopping around best location. Recommend: i will book a balcony room for next time. Very safety and staff was good training.

no free wifi, have to pay a lot for it. the check in queue was long even at 1030pm, we waited for 20 mins or so. the parking spot was near to the room. the shuttle service is great apart from the fact that it stops for 2 hrs during lunchtime. the hotel itself is a v posh place to be but the heavy use is slowly wearing it out. rates arent cheap at all as you would expect.

We choose this hotel because of their location. They located nest to the "Monterey State Historic Park" & lively "Fisherman's Wharf". You can leave your car and have some tasty meals just 3-minutes walk. The hotel building design blend with the original historic building. We love the adjustable shutters in the guest room instead of curtain(good for those who has allergy).

I had booked the Corner King room for the view. Definitely was not disappointed. Stayed there for one night only as San Diego was a spontaneous trip decided the day before and booked the room the day of. The hotel reminds me of a Vegas hotel. Very grand. It's off the ocean/bay so it's not close to the gaslamp district; that's where Lyft comes in handy. Do not take the carriage bag to th e hotel, it was a good $30. Def take Lyft back. Now for the negative. They didn't mention at check-in but using their valet was an additional $49!!! I choose that hotel because I thought it was all included. Wrong, so definitely NOT a Vegas like hotel in that aspect. Also, neither Agoda or the hotel mentioned that there's a resort fee (hyatt refers to it as a "destination fee"). Love the view but after the hidden fees I think I'll choose a different hotel next time I'm in San Diego. There's lots of other hotels that charge much less for valet ( self parking is $35!!!)

After a long trip and finally got through customs, I picked up my bags and activated my US simcard . I gave the hotel a call to organise the shuttle to pick me up. After about 45 minutes I got picked up and arrived at the hotel...Greeted by the lovely Bree, did all the particulars, got my room key and when into my room. The room although on the small side was very nice for the solo traveler. I like the LED mood light (just remember to switch it off before you go to sleep), I had a view of the city but it's not the best site (go for a view of the airport) and there was a coffee maker in the room as well. The staff were very friendly and I can remember having a chat and a cup of tea with Bree on my final night (because I took a nap when I didn't want to) and then not realising it was 2am and that I had to go to sleep. For a hotel near the airport it's great for a overnight/2 night stay.... I might stay here longer on my next time in LA but I'll need a car to get around or use public transport (I used the bus to get to Santa Monica from the hotel). All in all...If I do return to LA, I would stay here again

Nice hotel, the room was a decent size and very clean. The pool area was nice, though it's more for relaxing than doing serious lengths. The price actually dropped considerably after we had booked, so beware of this if you go for the 'No refund' option. We had an issue with the valet parking though. The hotel stated we could leave the car until 3:00 p.m but one of the actual valets said we could leave between 3:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m without any extra charges. However when I collected the car at 3:30 p.m I was told by the valet parking attendant that it would be a further $15, and the previous guy was nowhere to be found...wasn't happy.

Great facility. Remodeled rooms in Royal Palm Tower are great! Rooms in the Regency not so much. Staff were Awesome, helpful and courteous. The location is the best part of the experience. Central and close to all the major attractions!

Good hotel in great location for Downtown attractions & BART to/ from airport . 2 minute walk to BART/Muni metro & Bus, 3 mins to cable cars. At the time of booking was the best priced downtown hotel in its category. Room was a good size & very clean.

Stayed one night in San Diego and found this hotel in a series of sights. Nice and friendly staff. No hassle checking in or out. Great for a small vacation or a longer stay. Best of all, close to most major tourist locations.

We stayed here for the weekend of BlizzCon and it was a fantastic stay. The hotel is beautiful and close to all areas you would be interested in. One thing that needs to be discussed is that while my wife and I were at BlizzCon, an individual who stated they were security and needed to enter our room knocked on our door with my Mom and one-year old daughter inside. He refused to leave and asked my Mom to call a number to verify he needed to do a room check. My Mom complied, but it made me greatly concerned that this was something that was either not valid, dangerous, or should have been addressed when we checked in. This needs to be changed immediately for the safety and security of those individuals checking-in in the future.

I got this 4 stars hotel with Agoda secret deals and I wasn't sure what we will get but I was greatly surprised. The location is excellent, with easy transportation to everywhere (we were doing uber anyway). The hotel is very clean and nice. It looks like new. The staff was very friendly as well. Very quality/price with Agoda.

Alex, the front desk associate, was very kind and upgraded our stay. We were on our honeymoon, and he also generously added a credit to our room. Overall, the aesthetic was great, very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Needless to say, but the view from the 12th floor of the observatory was amazing. Sunday brunch at pot, couldn't complain about anything. Prosciutto Eggs Benedict 🙌🏽. Our server, Miguel F, was the best. I was most impressed by the casual and unpretentious vibe, while maintaining an excellent level of service and amenities. Would love to stay again next time we're in LA. Or you could just give us a free stay and I would book a flight tomorrow.

Superb, friendly and helpful staff, gave map of gas lamp district when I inquired about restaurants, staff was smiling and always happy to answer questions and concerns. The view was gorgeous, overlooking the Bay!! I will definitely refer this hotel to friends and family as well as I plan on returning to the hotel as soon as possible! Price was right for a 4-5 star hotel, gas lamp was within walking distance! I will be back hopefully sooner than later!

My only complaint is the Vue restaurant. The food is good, but we ate there three nights and the operations weren’t great. They sent out entrees before appetizers and kids food, some of the food wasn’t prepared correctly, but to their credit they made it right at each meal. Kids club is great and allows you to use the adult pool or golf. Overall great trip and I highly recommend this place.

No spa. Restaurant was closed for ??? during our stay. Not that we needed it. The complementary continental breakfast offered between 7am and 10am because the restaurant was closed was out of food by 9:45. Not exactly 5 star here.

We have stayed in this hotel a few times to attend special events at Knott's Berry Farm. You cannot get closer to the amusement park than their own hotel on property. It is a very short walk to the front gate and you can spend that time browsing the Berry Market shops and eating establishments along the way. The rooms are kept up fairly well. Many rooms are having a makeover. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Snoopy makes an appearance in the lobby before bedtimes (about 7 pm) for photo ops and interactions. The lounge off the lobby and Amber Waves restaurant are very clean, well managed, and offer excellent food. Knott's does a great job of catering to those who have allergies and special food requirements. They offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The pool, workout facilities, steam room and sauna are easy to access and a welcome relaxing activity after a day on the Farm - or before to warm up and relax before an active day.

When In San Diego there is so much to do and see. My husband and two young children wanted to experience the perfect family staycation. We are familiar with beaches and nearby cities . San Diego is all in one. The location for the hotel is perfect due to the fact you have access to the beaches, historical artifacts and the downtown near by. Location Wise , 100% couldn’t have been better . My daughter and son loved to play by the pool during the day . In the evening we took a cruise exploring parts of San Diego that had numerous historical backgrounds . Which was well worth it by the way. For dinner we ate at a restaurant in downtown. My little girl was drained after an adventurous day , within a few minutes we were back at the hotel. The best part of the vacation was waking up in the hotel room watching the sunrise over the marina. My little girl and husband were so excited to see the sun

If you can afford it-Treat yourself to staying at the Surf and Sand Resort that is located right ON the beach in Laguna. The Towers rooms are right over the water with a beautiful balcony/patio with 180 degree views of the coast. Splashes the restaurant is one of the best in southern California, with dishes prepared and presented to perfection. The staff is all about customer service and all the amenities, spa gym and everything else is first class. I stay here every year and believe it is the best beach resort in California and I have stayed at them all.

Granted: the area - at the edge of the Tenderloin - may not the best, but given the (for European standards) simply insane prices for hotel rooms elsewhere in San Francisco, this was excellent value for money. In contrast to many other - much more expensive - hotels I've seen in the city, which claim to be newly built or renovated but already have a somewhat shabby look and feel, the room and the entire hotel were impeccably clean and modern. Also, instead of the usual 'minibar-rip-off', there were gratuitous water and snacks in the room. And last but definitely not least, while I cannot say that the personnel at other SF hotels was unfriendly, the staff here was exceptionally nice and helpful (thank you for that!). I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Perfect. Absolutely happy with my stay there. Got in touch with Diane from Concierge two months before my stay to see if any help could be done for my proposal and was beyond satisfied with the outcome. Got help from Leticia and also Front Office Tyler throughout the event. One of my most memorable hotel stays ever. Highly recommend Hyatt Regency to anyone looking at spending a night or two in Monterey. Thank you Diane, Leticia and Tyler once more for making my stay such a great one.

It’s awaome hotel n resort best part is it’s very near to Lake Tahoe lake so you can enjoy at beach when ever you want and it has good parking pace Indian Restruant ,Safeway, cvs pharmacy are all walkable(4 -5 min) There is boat rental , parasailing and kayaking that you can rent. Hotel price free shuttle to downtown. It has swimming pool jacuzzi and bonefire place (artificial fire place) where anyone can enjoy I recommend this hotel, I paid 181$ for two queenbed room , try if you can get lower this

This is an older hotel and could probably use some updates, but this is my favorite place to stay in Fresno. I love the large rooms. Most of the motels/hotels in this price range are so small. Staff is pleasant, rooms are clean, has ice and refrigerator to chill your wine, and sliding glass doors on the inside rooms to step out for fresh air, comfortable bed and pillows, and everything works as it should. But the best part is the size of the rooms. Love this place!

Excellent location across the street from the Ferry Building, which has some of the best food in SF. The location is also close to many great restaurants.

Wonderful hotel. The hotel has probably recently been renovated because everything looks just perfect and gives you this quality feeling. The staff is very friendly, the views are stunning, the location is excellent (the beach is just around the corner, shops and plenty of good restaurants nearby). We traveled through California and after madhouse Las Vegas, The Huntley was our final stop before flying home and we just loved it. Can imagine that my description sounds a little exaggerated if it is all so positive, but I honestly could not find a thing to complain about... : )
