This hotel is a must if you are traveling alone or in a group of two or more. The rooms were cleaned and made up daily; also much cleaner than most friends' homes! From Jeju Airport, it was a single 80min bus ride (Limousine Bus 600) and less than a five minute walk North West of the bus stop (New Gyongnam Hotel in Seogwipo). Check in was simple, and the hotel offered a cafe, outdoor picnic area, and a basement with lots of tables, dart machines, stage, music, etc.
The hotel was within walking distance of several restaurants, bars, coffee shops, orange stands/stores, and shopping. The 600 bus line was a great tool for excursions too far for walking, and taxis were also readily available and usually cost less than $5 for where we went.
The hotel offered a daily breakfast (eggs, toast, cold cereal, coffee, milk, OJ) that was more than enough to get us going in the morning. The cafe offered an extended menu that would be suitable for lunch and dinner and included several "western" type meals (bagels and sandwiches), as well as coffees, teas, and beers (for those interested).
Additionally, they offered an evening Korean-style BBQ that was worth the money! You were able to socialize with other guests and get an authentic Korean meal (all you can eat).
The staff was great. Their English was superb, and they were very helpful in recommending excursions, restaurants, shops, directions, etc. Currently they are renovating to make the hotel even BETTER (it sounds amazing)! This was my first time in a backpacker's hotel, and from what I'm told, this is one of the great ones. I'd recommend that you stay here.
