Reasonsble price for the location. Staff asked for rent when checking out Maybe he did on purpise or was not trained properly. Sone guests mght have twice since some Agoda booking require payment ar the property and the guests do not remember the payment procedure etc.

Bed bugs are unacceptable, it does not matter if you are paying for an inexpensive bed.

Comfortable”
My stay didn't quite live up to expectation, but was nice nonetheless. It seems a teeny but run down in some areas (mainly the bathroom) but nothing major. The decor is really nice, staff are friendly. Wifi was a little spotty for me in some places. You get a few options for breakfast. The waffles were nice and came with your choice of sauce/addition of banana, as well as free unlimited tea and coffee. There was a limit to seats, but maybe only a problem during busy periods. Beds were comfy, and have their own light and shelf. My USB charging point was broken. The rooms were all clean. You get a large locker, but need to bring your own lock. Also they don't provide you with a towel, although I think you can rent one. They have a really cool rooftop overlooking Hanoi, a nice place to chill out. Location wise is good, short walk to Old Quarter and lots around. I've stayed in a few better hostels in Hanoi, but still had a comfortable stay here.

Great social hostel, helpful staff”
This hostel is a great place to meet other young travelers and the staff can help you arrange basically anything - I was there during Tet (new year) craziness and they did their best to help me book bus tickets and train travel despite everything being a bit chaotic at the time. The free city walking tour they provide every day was awesome and the Ha Long Bay trip I booked through them was super fun as well!

Favorite Hostel in Vietnam”
I had been traveling Vietnam by Motorcycle for a month when I finished in Hanoi. I stayed at Republik which is just a short walk in to the old quarters. The hostel is very large with an elevator that gets you between the floors. This was nice since I had stayed at multiple hostels in Vietnam where we had to drag large bags up many flights of stairs. Republik offers a delicious breakfast if you're awake before 10:30am but the rest of their food is a bit pricey (120,000-200,000) and mainly consists of pizza and burgers. The good is delicious however, just expensive. If you're looking for good local food, turn left when you leave the hostel and get noodles form a nice lady a few shops up with brown flat noodles. The door rooms here are clean and offer curtains with a fan in side your bed. Great pillow and warm blanket and towels are 30,000 to rent. Bathrooms are clean and have multiple showers on each floor. Every hour starting at 6 they offer free local beers but they run out fast.

Best place for backpackers, very helpful staff”
Very good place for backpackers. They have a tiny privat room but this is part of the dormitorium just separated with a door. So if you are not a backpacker you wont like the privat room either. The staff is extremely helpful and kind, smiling all the time and ready to solve any problem you have. Free beer every evening!

If the crew could hint that there's a shower switch to turn on before taking a shower, that'll be better.
