Royal Rio Palace Hotel
Excellent position , very helpful staff . The day we checked out our flight wasn’t until 22.00 but you can pay by the hour to stay , a great help .
decent hotel in an excellent location and friendly staff
No customer service”
Reception staff need to smile and be friendly older man checked me in whilst talking about life with his collegue - little did they realise I am Portuguese.... Rudest reception staff ever not worth staying there no one smiles
Booked 7 months prior to Rio Carnaval and paid $300 per night. Given a room on the 3rd floor by the elevator. No view and sounded like an airplane going over us every time the elevator used. Smell of sewerage wafting through every now and then. They had 2 single beds pushed together...very uncomfortable. Disappointed after paying so much and booking so far in advance.
Good but overpriced”
The location of the hotel is very convenient, only two blocks from Copacabana beach. The personel was ok but the fact that only one person spoke really good English was a bit of a shock to me. I was expecting more from a 4 star hotel. The room was spacious enough. The bathroom clean, however, a bit dated and you could see signs of wear. The restaurant was nice with good food and prices. The swimming pool was spectacular and served very nicely after days full of sightseeing. All in all, it is a nice hotel but overpriced for what you actually get.
It was great. We have spent a night in this hotel. Hotel staff was very hospitable
Pleasent experience, staff were great
Fair hotel to stay”
near the beach, room is quiet. There are restaurants nearby.
My Business Stay”
My stay was only for 4nights, I was in room 306. The first night my room was quite warm so i turned the air con on to cool the room down, after about an hour i could hear water dripping. On checking this out the dripping was coming through the light fitting above the fridge. This was reported to reception but nothing was done about it. I had to use the waste bin from my bathroom to collect the water.
great location, nice rooftop bar/pool”
For the price, Royal Rio was quite a good hotel. The location was great - about a 3- or 4min walk to the beach and close to restaurants, bars, launry facility and a supermarket. Clean and spacious rooms and staff were helpful most of the time. There was a huge variety of choice at breakfast and they were flexible with timing. The pool was located on the rooftop and, despite being small, it was clean and modern and had a nice atmosphere.
Excellent slightly cheaper Copa alternative”
Good experience. Service is a bit "confused" and seems a bit busy and disorganised when there's only a few customers around, but they're helpful and their English is good enough. The breakfast lounge offers a great selection, and the rooms are spacious and good. I saw that this hotel is rated "8" and I'd agree with that, though I'd give it a 7.8 myself (because of the general ambiance).
"Second Stay in two months" ”
This was our second stay in two months at this hotel we visit Rio regularly and have used many hotels. have now found a hotel we wish to return to. Good value for money. good location and well trained staff. would recomend this to all.
My nice memory ”
The situation of the hotel is ideal for the Beach and especially to explore all the important sites of Rio. Negative: the receptionist did not inform us about change of summer to wintertime and forgot our morning wakeup call for 04:30 in the morning, so it really was utmost stressy to reach our flt to Manaus.
Very good hotel and we would stay there again”
We had a great stay. Convenient to local bars, restaurants. After 4 days we moved onto Ipanema for 2 nights. 4 star Golden Tulip was not as good, however more local to restaurants, bars and banks. Copacabana beach and beach bar areas better than Ipanema.
Close to the beach and nice restaurants”
Excellent no complaints
Nice hotel, although expensive.”
We stayed in the hotel in the high season with lots of guests. Good things: pool area, friendly and attentive staff, beautiful clean room, bathroom, good A/C, fitness center, fast wireless internet. Minor complaints: breakfast doesn't really change so one can get fed up. Rooms not very soundproof. Pool area is not too big and could use more sunbathing chairs. But in general these are minor issues.
nice clean and confortable”
First of all The negative aspect- INTERNET- ITS SO SLOW AND KEEPS GETTING DISCONNECTED.... OMG LOOKS LIKE I AM USING DECADES OLD DIAL UP CONNECTIONS.... POSITIVES- LOCATION ,CLOSE PROXIMITY TO COPACABANA BEACH, SUPER MARKET, RESTAURANTS, BARS... GOOD CLEAN ROOMS, FEW ENGLISH SPEAKING STAFF BUT ARE DECENT AND RESPONSIVE.
