What an amazing experience! 20 Degres Sud Boutique Hotel was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in , and I've stayed in a lot of five & seven stars hotels. Staff were wonderful ,just to name a few: Emma ,Vik ,Manisha,Bavish,Abdulrahim ,Rizwaan Khan & David were all very helpful & goes out of their way to make our stay a little bit better . Emma helped us with booking our 1st scuba diving experience with a local instructor , and it was the most rewarding experience ever . All in all , you can't go wrong when choosing to stay at 20 Degres Sud & the hotel's lovely staff.
We spent a wonderful week at 20 Degrees Sud and loved the hotel... Our room was very comfortable and clean, the food from the restaurant was utterly delicious and, in spite of the relatively small "campus", there was space for everyone. The gym was very functional, the hotel bikes were a great way to explore the surrounding area and tea and cake at 4pm was a lovely detail. We took the hotel boat trip to the Northern Islands and that was a total highlight. There were only 4 guests on the boat (with 2 crew), we ate the most delicious lunch of barbequed lobster and saw lots of turtles which was amazing. The staff were really excellent and attentive and the only slight draw back was that, like all hotels of this type, you pay London prices for drinks. We would definitely recommend this hotel as it was wonderful and the most relaxing holiday I have had in a long time...
20 Degres Sud cam highly recommended but unfortunately it did not entirely live up to expectation. The first worry is the minute you walk in the door you are given a long list of rules - don,t do this, don't do that and you have to sign acceptance of the rules - anal to say the least.... Staff were a mixed bag - mostly very friendly and often apologetic for the stiffness and formality of the place, acknowledging that they could be less controlling.... Housekeeping was sketchy and inconsistent to say the least - a bit of a knit one, slip one.... some days every thing was sorted, other days simple things like towels were taken away and not replaced, bedside water was replaced some days not others - certainly not the service quality one would expect for the price. We were on half board (breakfast and dinner) - Breakfast was exactly the same combination laid out the same way every day - no variation at all. Dinner was reasonable - it filled the belly but was certainly not special.
We have travelled extensively and this is quite simply the best hotel we've ever stayed in. Everything is beautifully and tastefully presented and the staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Unusual to have such a high level of quality combined with a welcoming atmosphere. If you're going to Mauritius - stay here!
2nd time staying at 20 Degrés Sud and it was perfect Special mention to Vik , Kristian and Denis who always go above & beyond to look after the guests. Sad to leave but looking forward to going back one day
Dear Mrs. Lyn, Many thanks for your feedbacks, Rest assured that it will be shared among the staffs. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back among us soon. Stay safe. Best regards, Karen .
Gorgeous, intimate boutique hotel with high class service”
Absolutely loved this hotel - only 36 rooms and felt very intimate and uncrowded. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. Our needs were anticipated before we even realised them. It is a 5 star hotel that really feels like 5 stars. We stayed in the lowest price room so weren't expecting anything amazing but our room was beautiful. The food is also very impressive - the nightly specials are delicious and the wine options were top notch. Everyone staying there were adults and couples or families with adult children - I wouldn't say it is family friendly at all. Definitely an amazing place to get away for some peace, quiet and aqua blue water. Can't say enough about this place except maybe that we wish we were still there!
Dear Guest; Thousands of thanks for your kind review and feedback. We are thrilled to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and we really hope to see you again soon. Best regards Charlotte
One word - AMAZING”
We have stayed here for 3 nights for our baby moon, and from the minute we have entered the hotel territory through the large wooden door we felt like in heaven. We were greeted by super friendly staff and a very refreshing welcome drink. The hotel surroundings are gorgeous and very tastefully decorated. We have also got upgraded to one of the beautiful ocean view rooms. The room was just as gorgeous as the rest of the hotel - decorated in a really nice Caribbean style with a huge outdoor bathroom. It seems that the hotel management has though of every single detail - everything seemed to be perfect from the bathrobes, to toiletries and fresh flowers in the room. The food at the restaurant (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner) was phenomenal too. Every meal we had was really yummy and super fresh + high quality. Honestly I couldn't fault this hotel. We are frequent travellers and we have stayed at many amazing hotels, but this one was just really something special. Cannot wait to come back!!!
Another great Relais & Chateaux accommodatio ”
We were here for our honeymoon and we got upgraded to Suite 21 which was just a stone throw away from the beach. The private beach was clean and quiet. We also did the floating island breakfast which is a must do. although there was a slight hiccup but Vic and Ashish made it a beautiful experience. The downside is there is an outdoor spa in our suite. But when i switch it on there were heaps of dead ants conning out from the jets. so we didn't managed to use it. The overall experience is amazing and would highly recommend the hotel to friends and family. It was to my expectation of Relais & Chateaux standard.
A chic holiday in a charming boutique hotel”
Amazing decorations and very stylish furnishing define this hotel. The place is kept in pristine condition. Anybody with good appreciation in interior decoration will fall in love with this place. With less than 40 rooms, this hotel has an intimate feel made more charming by the personable owner and senior staff. The sandy beach though artificial provides just enough room for sun bathing and heated pool for light exercise. Guests were almost all from Europe whilst we were there.
Mauritius - Sept 14”
Pleasant and up to expectations for the price paid. One or two minor impediments to giving it full marks; 1. Waitron service around pool and private beach area could have been more visible and attentive. 2. Had a leaky bath incident 3. Food service and eating times a bit rigid. Out of the norm requests are accommodated but at a disproportionately high cover charge. 4. No room service. 5. Restaurant prices are on the expensive side in any currency.
Lovely amenities, but not fully value for money ”
The hotel itself is beautiful, spacious rooms, very good quality furniture etc. Location so so - on the tip of the bay, so very very windy. Food was good, dinner in particular- delicious food and well presented. Staff were nice but lacked the 4 star training I would have expected - we had to repeatedly chase orders, aka for bread to be brought to table etc. Also slightly disappointed with the manager - upon leaving we ordered our own taxi (way cheaper deal than the taxi arranged by the hotel) and we could see the manager wasn’t happy about it. As I guest I should have the right to use whatever taxi I want without being made to feel inferior for not using the hotel services.
Great hotel. Staff very warm and friendly. Facilities very nice and looked to be in midst of low season freshening up. Only small issue was seemed no matter what meal of the day, staff could have been more attentive refilling coffee, water, wine. Maybe a few extra staff as was generally quite busy.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your review and feedback regarding your stay in our hotel. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. We took in consideration your comment to upgrade our offer of services and we hope to have the pleasure to see you again. Best regards Charlotte
Would come back again. One problem quiet serious problem,I have a allergy to a food product after filling in the form on arrival and telling the staff in restaurant I was still served it on several occasions and sent back, if this had been a nut allergy the person could of died, please take note of the allergy section please. Great restaurant staff, breakfast was brilliant, dinner was very very good, wine selection was good but well overpriced, ended up buying our wine outside and having a glass before or after and just drinking sparkling water with our dinner. To many Chiefs here asked something then we were asked again and again the same question by different reception staff and Managers, communicate with each other please. Apart from the two problems everything was great.
Magical and idyllic”
We couldn't have wished for a more perfect small hotel. Everything was as shown in brochure .

20 Degres Sud Boutique Hotel”
Disappointing. The hotel is expensive compared to others but the quality is low. The hotel has some nice touches, particular the inside common areas, but the lack of attention to detail (beyond some superficial things) and things that were broken, were too numerous. The toilet did not flush properly, none of the doors closed properly (it was a huge struggle to open the safe or bar fridge door), lounge cushions were mouldy, chairs looked nice but when you sat on them you nearly fell through, the shower flooded the bathroom, the bath taps sprayed everywhere, the basin sink didn't drain properly, the door swipe card was temperamental etc. Breakfast was average - limited range and low quality. An omelet one morning was nice, the next it wasn't cooked properly (still very runny inside). The machine to boil eggs didn't work - I tried twice and staff tried once but the whites were still watery. Evening meals were better but still variable. A delicious chocolate pudding one night was overlooked and the sauce on the inside had dried up the next night. Other evening meals were good but not consistent with the prices changed. I'll stay elsewhere next time.
It was definitely fulfilling and impressive”
It was great. Nothing to complain except to add more English channels for cable tv.
Dissapointed at least!”
Agoda mis-represented the hotel. Except the restaurant, the hotel is not what I expected for a Relais chain
Very familiar, warm, relaxing...”
Without standards of "Relais & Chateaux" but friendly and always with good intentions...
