Proper Stay”
The room is fine and silent, location is perfect, hot water running. I got what I need in a good price. The entryway is kinda hard to find, but overall that was a good experience for my first UK travel.

Awful smell in room and no breakfast delivered from the kitchens”
Room had awful disinfectant smell, obviously to cover something else so couldn't sleep as hit the chest and I suffer from asthma. Full English breakfast paid for but nothing came from the kitchen area, what was in the buffet trays was about 10 dried out beans and nothing much else, no eggs, no bacon or sausage, basically full English paid for, that not provided. The hotel were not bothered with my complaint and on subsequent communications have ignored me. Do not stay here !!!

Great Hotel in Manchester ”
This is s nice hotel located in central Manchester. This hotel allows pets and our dog was very comfy. Many restaurants nearby. The street car station is very near. There is a street food market nearby. Lots of great shopping nearby. The area is very busy at night with a lot of people drinking. I found this very lively area fun. We noticed a wet spot on the carpet outside of the bathroom in the evening. The next morning the wet spot had grown tremendously. Obviously a water leak. When I reported this to management theý immediately changed our room while the maintenance guy came to look. I was impressed that they changed our room without a fuss. The new room was nicer too. I highly recommend this hotel. The only downside is parking. You must park your car at a city lot which is a 7 minute walk. The fee is £10 for 24 hours which is quite reasonable for the UK. We loved Manchester.

Great location but dated”
Great location hotel but very 1980’s style hotel. Not the nice 80’s, the tacky 80’s in my opinion. Good value and breakfast was great. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had window room but may have struggled without it. Great choice for a central budget hotel. Don’t read too much into the poor reviews, it’s seriously not that bad.

An imperfect stay and water problems ”
While the bed and size of the room was great, I was even upgraded as they ran out of standard rooms. The problem was with the shower, which on the first night only ran ice cold water. Upon reporting it to the reception they sent the maintenance team. They ‘fixed’ it so it only ran boiling water. The other problem I encountered was a rude security guard who questioned if I was really a guest because I came back late and was wearing a hooded top. It was his mannerism and tone of voice that made it quite unpleasant. I won’t be staying here again.

Hotel was so dirty and you can't get hold of reception over the phone, understaffed. The bed is crap”
Please don't go to this hotel, it's a miserable hotel to go. Any hotel with the name Britannia is a no go. They are absolutely ridiculous. No aircon, no internet, broken tap, dirty hotel, badly trained staff, bunk bed, smelly bathroom.

Unhappy with service from night staff”
My girlfriend was spiked on a night out I managed to get her in a taxi and to the hotel, soon as I got there I asked if they had a wheel chair, rude reply no. Then I had to carry her all the way to the room alone no help with anything from the staff not even open the lift door for me. Luckily a paying customers were there to give me a had to get into the lift, as I was in the lift she was sick all over me and the lift so I firstly got her to the room so I know she was safe. After I had put her down I went back to the reception to tel the staff she been sick so it didn't effect other users of the hotels. BUT NO THIS FUNNY GUY STARTED TO GIVE ME ATTITUDE, if I didn't clean it up I'll get fined and all that, even giving me random number of room full of #### this guy not impressed, no help then threats woow talk about customers services and funny thing I enjoy staying here but ashamed of some staff FIX UP AND GET A WHEEL CHAIR comes handy in emergency. But apart from that lovely place x

Excellent value for the money”
Having read lots of dreadful reviews about this hotel making the choice to go to this hotel looked like a gamble. There is hardly another place in the world where you will find so much value for the money, period. About cleanliness for example, the lobby is impeccable, my room the same and the bathroom can't be cleaner and is very well equipped BTW (plenty of towels). The bed is super comfortable, the staff very helpful and, icing on the cake, the hotel places you right in the center of the beautiful Manchester. Can't get more value for the money, absolutely impossible.

The rooms were disgusting. No air conditioning. No cleaning of rooms on a regular basis.”
Zero pros. Staff dont even speak english or understand it. After booking and paying they demand more money for a room with window. Unethical. Everyday towels are requested and rooms to be cleaned. Rooms are a health hazard. Black foreign cleaners very unfriendly and lazy. Never cleaned the rooms at all. Carpets have dustmites. Change your cleaning staff...add aircons...stop renting out by the hour. Too many prostitutes appear to use the facilities on an hourly basis. I would never return to this dump even if offered for free. Dont know how its acquired the title of hotel..should be called.......

Simple room. Broken door handle to toilet, blood in elevator, dirty tray outside a room for 24hrs ”
Perfect location for city centre, however facilities inside room were lacking, very dated hotel, could do with a freshen up and clean. Not only broken bed leg and toilet door handle but no air con. And after asking reception for a fan, they said they will bring it to the room we never received a fan at all. Couldn't open window because of too much noise outside. Hardly any of the light switches worked so only had 1 lamp at night in a 3 person room..but it kept a roof over our head for one night so it did it's job

the staff were very friendly. was upgraded to room with window as son was suffering fatigue and nausea and claustrophobia. very friendly staff. building spacious does need decorating and a scrub. the spa facilities very welcoming. lovely breakfast. fantastic location. definitely will be back. would Defo recommend a room with window. I feel the price I paid for the night £75 inc breakfast was far too overpriced. . I would of been happy paying no more than £60.
