All staff extremely helpful. Nice and clean with a real family feel. We visit Dublin regularly and this is the best hotel compared with similarly priced in the area. Will definitely return.

Fantastic room, very lovely character hotel with easy access to the city centre, shops, attractions etc. The staff were so good, we got our room at 9am, plenty of tea/coffee/shampoo/towels/amazing breakfast and the bar staff were happy to help us out with our own fizz. Totally recommend a stay here!

If looking for historical hotel near a very popular part of Dublin. ”
Has a classical historical decor, but you must be prepared for no cool air conditioning in your room. Very quaint and a charming ancient-feeling pub in the basement. I also really liked the breakfast area, charming.

Good value for money, clean rooms, good location! ”
I stayed for 7 nights. The rooms looked new and very clean. The staff were friendly and the location is only about 5-10 mins to the city centrex and major shopping streets. The gym was equipped well enough and the bar at the basement was a great place to relax. There were however no tooth brushes or toothpaste, no refrigerator, and no drinking water in the room. The breakfast was delicious but the menu didn’t change throughout my stay. Those not withstanding, I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Oldest hotel in Dublin very nice visit”
The first thing we noticed about the Castle Hotel was its close proximity to either the center of the old city or access to public transportation and the tourist office. The hotel itself is a very well-preserved old building with a lift (elevator) with a restaurant and bar. The rooms are a bit tight, and the bathroom is very small, with a very small sink (impossible to get water to stay in the bowl when washing your face). Still, it was clean and neat, and nicely furnished with a good bed. The only down side other than the bathroom size was there is no air conditioning. We arrived during a heat wave and sweltered in the room at night. We put a deposit on an air fan at the desk, which was promptly reimbursed upon our departure and return of the fan. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good morning breakfasts with a choice of a full Irish breakfast, and a selection of other foods. Recommend highly with reservations about no air conditioning.

    Never Again”
No air conditioning, much hotter inside than outside. Extremely noisy due to the combination of no wall insulation and parties. I got a total of thirty minutes sleep. Overpriced and underperformed.

    Good Location, Good Value”
Location is in walking distance of shopping and entertainment. Very quiet. Right near bus stop. Breakfast is excellent. The hotel is large and sprawling - long hallways and lots of nooks and crannies. As the oldest hotel in Dublin, the rooms and especially plumbing is in need of updating. Still a good value for a short stay.

The hotel was in the city center. I liked the Saturdays and Sundays Irish music. To go to my room I had to take elevator and walk the stairs, it was a little far from the reception. It was a beautiful hotel with beautiful furniture.

    Pretty Inside, Perfect location”
Good location with easy access to regular buses. Many tourist spots in Dublin are walking distance from here. The lobby and lounge areas are what the millenials would call "instagramworthy". They have a good Irish/European style breakfast buffet. It was so good, I always ended up eating a lot. Staff are courteous and friendly. However, at night it seems like there is only one person manning the fort. Not a problem for me, though but might be a problem for others. I didn't see a meeting room or any places to hold something for bigger groups, or any other special facilities like a gym. But this is a very good hotel for its category.
